The sign out front stated the difference in costs for lunch & dinner. We came on a Sunday @ 1230, for lunch. AYCE sushi. Who wouldn't love that?! Our service was great. Food was fresh. Selections were amazing. However - when the bill came, for 2 adults and 2 under 3 (free), we paid $69. Huh?! The server informed us that Sunday's was " all day dinners ". No where on the sign, did it notate, Sunday - all day dinner. Nor did anyone upfront inform us as they were seating us. Obviously we had to pay. However, there needs to be some type of transparency here. Sadly enough, this will be our first and last time, coming here. I would reckon, to ask about the costs before being seated.

While in town, my SO and I stopped by Mikado after hearing about crab legs and oysters being added to the menu. On a late weekday evening, we stopped by. Dinner is $29.99pp. We were surprised there wasn't a constant line for the steamed crab legs like there usually is at Asian buffets. The snow crab legs are small (vs. Gohan's), but come out hot and pretty good. Melted butter and crab crackers must be ordered through the server. The oysters and sashimi were OK. The hamachi and salmon were pretty good. The tuna and squid were meh. I didn't try any of the sushi rolls. The variety of hot foods is lacking for $30pp. Lots of protein options-- some that I can recall are: grilled yellowtail collar, fish fillets, salmon, salt and pepper shrimp, Cajun seafood pot, and walnut shrimp. There was only 1 veggie option (broccoli), 2 soup options (miso and seafood/egg drop soup), and 2 dim sum options (shrimp hacao and a seafood mix dumpling). Additionally, you can order hibachi or teriyaki through your server - those are made to order and is pretty good too. Soft drinks need to be ordered with the server. They had an area with canned drinks...the only one I saw and had was the soybean milk. Dessert and fruit area was disappointing. Service is slow and almost nonexistent. We had stacks of plates sitting on the end of our table for 30 minutes before our server took them away. Also, pay attention to the bowls you grab underneath the buffet tables. There was no bowls for soup and I asked someone to bring out more. She handed me a stack of three and the second bowl still had wasabi and other food residue in the bowl (ew). Also, there was a long strand of hair on the oyster bar from when we first arrived until the end (again, ew). Needless to say, Mikado needs to work on their cleanliness. Parking is plentiful and free. Lunch prices are $18.99pp and exclude crab legs, oysters, a very limited sashimi/nigiri/sushi options. Due to the further limited options during lunch, I don't think it's worth going for lunch. You're better off going to Revolving Sushi Factory for lunch than here.

Before you decide to get a table and eat here. Know that the crab legs is not AYCE! It's 1 cluster person ONLY! For example if you have 3 paying people then you only get 3 cluster! The hot bar food is not fresh and dried out! No wonder the place is dead. The service sucks. They don't inform you bout the crab leg rule nor is it posted on the big board before you walk. They decide to put it on the menu bottom right corner. Don't waste your money. $30 for premium menu is not worth it. Spend that $ somewhere else and get better food.

Service was quick and the food came out fast enough. I drove from Atlanta hoping more options were available, but the lunch menu had limitations. Lunch is $18.99 and you get access to appetizers, hibachi, some items from the cold bar and hot bar that are AYCE. The menu limits you to 5 orders of Hibachi and 120 minutes to eat. If you order too much and don't eat it all, they will charge extra. If you ask for stuff to go, they will charge extra. Thankfully they didn't charge me extra for the 5 pieces of roll I left. They had "dim sum" options that included hagao and shumai. There was also a custard sweet bun. Unclear if these were fresh or from the freezer. The sushi they offer is meh. Just about the same quality you can get at Kura. Hits the spot, but not amazing. Server didn't give me the option to omit eel sauce, so don't ask to customize anything, they won't allow it. This made the sushi just sweet. I'm sure this place knocks off a lot on a list. For $20 AYCE lunch, it's better than getting a Big Mac.

We came to Mikado Sushi for the AYCE and were greeted right away at the host stand and seated quickly. The interior was really nice--clean, modern, and had a good vibe overall. Our server was super friendly and walked us through the menu, letting us know that most of it is included in the AYCE, with just a small charge for items like uni and a couple of specialty sushi. The hot bar had a decent variety, but for a buffet, I expected a bit more in terms of hot food options. Still, what was there tasted good. We tried the AYCE hibachi and got the ribeye--it was honestly delicious and packed with flavor. Sushi-wise, everything we ordered tasted fresh. We got some nigiri and one roll, which took a little while to come out. Our server was very attentive and kept checking in, letting us know the sushi bar was just a little backed up. Overall, the food was tasty, the interior was nice, and the service was great--especially considering the place was a bit busy since it's still new. I'm giving 4 stars because I think they could add more variety to the buffet side, and the sushi wait was longer than expected. Would definitely come back, though!

A great addition to the area. AYCE sushi with great taste and quality. Service was attentive and decently fast despite being busy when I visited on a Friday night. The restaurant itself is not hug but it did not feel too crowded when me and my group of 8 were there for dinner. Cold bar and hot bar both had some great options to snack on while you wait for orders to come out. Dessert bar had fresh fruit and some other sweets that I did not try this time. I will be back! My favorite items were the octopus and surf clam, a more rare find for an AYCE place, I love it!

Came here on a Friday night after seeing a social media post about this place which looked super good! Big miss!!! There is plenty of free parking and at prime dinner time, there was no wait. There is a small hot foods bar and cold food bar. Hot food consisted of dim sum with shu mai and buns which were very just okay. Not the worst. They also had some soups, galbi, lo mein, fried rice, takoyaki, and crab legs. I only had the galbi, takoyaki, and crab legs. Galbi was actually pretty fine but takoyaki was bleck. The crab legs were a hot mess disagree and were super old and overcooked. The cold bar had "sashimi" which really was more poke-esque as it was cubed up finely in little dishes. They also had a small number of desserts which looked worse than your normal grocery store desserts. The service here was super poor. The table we got wasn't wiped down and we were given no utensils or small plates. We walked up to the hot bar and grabbed these but NOTE other tables around us already had these plated up and ready for guests to be sat. I know how AYCE works but they never even gave us the overview of "order from the menu" but we have a hot foods bar. All other sushi ayce places do this. It was maybe 5 or so minutes into being seated that a server came to finally get our drink orders but by then we already knew what we wanted to order. The waitress was always surprised when we asked to order? Like there is NOT enough food on the hot bar and we want sushi... Crunchy 2 in 1 roll and crazy roll were my favorite rolls. Yellowtail jalopeno, tuna tataki, and the ribeye hibachi were other good items. Majority of the rolls were filled with imitation crab salad and if the rolls had any fish it was a SLIVER. So not worth it. I saw a table of 3 actually got the sushi boat so I did ask one of the servers that delivered our food if our table of 3 could order the "sashimi deluxe" as we wanted sashimi. She said no but we could order up to 10 pieces of sashimi. Makes sense as they obviously have sashimi on the menu only for big groups. So when our server came I asked for 10 pieces of salmon sashimi directly. When this arrived we got 10 pieces of salmon NIGIRI. I specifically asked for sashimi as the prior server said they could do this. If the server said no, I wouldn't have asked for it. This server said they do not do sashimi and only nigiri. Truly poor communication and lack of staff training. The yellowtail jalopeno (one of their only good items) has a limit! For a AYCE place! It does say on the menu 1 order per person, but we assumed 1 order per person per round but NO! 1 order allowed max per person for your meal! Tuna tataki we ordered 3 orders of and was good, so upon our next round we wanted more orders. The server said she had to "ask the chef". For a AYCE place, this restaurant has a ton of limits. Also, the little soy sauce bottles on tables are never refilled. We actually just picked up bottles from other empty tables as we kept running out. We ended up on our 3rd bottle and finishing it. They obviously do not check these on the daily to ensure they are sufficiently filled. For $27 for dinner, this place is a miss. Sushi village, sushi kingdom, GOHAN, or any KBBQ is better than this. Poor customer service here and could not be back.

My friends and I walked into this restaurant on a Friday night. We were seated with no wait. Unfortunately for us we should've known something was amiss when a restaurant isn't packed on a weekend night. The hostess brought us to a table. The table was dirty and already had menus haphazardly placed. The chairs were askew. She left without saying anything, not even explaining the concept of how things worked around here. The waitress kept coming back and giving us water but never asked if we wanted to order. I had to prompt her to order before she even did anything. We got the Buford, tiger, Georgia, sweet heart, rainbow, crazy, fantasy lobster, and crunchy 2 in 1 rolls. The only two rolls that were any good were the crazy and crunchy 2 in 1 rolls. The others all tasted similar, filled to the brim with cheap ingredients and if there was fish it was just a sliver. We got the yellowtail jalapeño and pepper tuna tataki appetizers which were quite good and I would recommend. The service felt like I was in a sit com. Everytime we went to order with our server she seemed surprised, despite there being no food on our table. We asked one of the staff if we could order sashimi and she said yes as long as we ordered 10 pieces or less. We ordered 10 pieces of sashimi and out came nigiri. The waitress never said anything when we ordered the nigiri and when we questioned her she said they don't offer it. If this was a gaslighting restaurant, I'd give them 5 stars. It seems on the menu they only offer it to groups of 5 or more. So basically, they discriminate against smaller tables so only the bigger tables get sashimi. Kinda crazy. Overall, I feel like I would not come back given the competitive landscape for AYCE sushi closer to Atlanta. Mikado isn't significantly cheaper and it is a 50 minute drive to get here.

I feel like many people been hitting this place no that fair, i been there last night and i like it a lot, i think what you get for that price is more than enough, they have a big variety of sushi, sashimi, hibachi, teriyaki, salads, crab legs, come on, what else do you want? If you complain about the service, remember that this is a buffet. All buffets are poor in service, also don't complain about price on weekends, all restaurants have same policies, lunch during weekdays never cost the same on weekends. Thats common sense. The place is very nice decorated, it looks clean. I am definitely giving 4+ start to this place, i wish people keep going so they stay open for long.

Good price $29.99 in Buford with many assorted sashimi and sushi. I don't know why the review is so low at yelp. I came here before when we can order sashimi from the menu. They changed to everything on the bar, but you still can order hibachi on the menu. If you have party of five or more, you still can order sushi or sashimi boat instead of grabbing small plate from the bar. But we are all happy with the food and service. If we were not here before, we will be so scared of the review point. You should come to try it !

A newly opened all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant just opened, so my friends and I decided to give it a try. The entrance looked quite nice and gave a decent first impression. But once we got inside, I noticed the place wasn't very spacious--pretty compact overall. When we saw the buffet price, it was already $2-3 more than expected. Weren't they saying it was $30? We started off with the Kani salad, Tuna Tango, Pepper Tuna Tataki, and the limited one-serving Yellowtail Jalapeño. The crab salad was a great appetizer--light and refreshing. Both Tuna dishes had a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The Yellowtail with chili was a solid combo too.then we hit the hot food section: takoyaki, Japanese fried chicken, short ribs, and snow crab legs. There was also a sashimi area with salmon, tuna, snapper, etc. But honestly, both the hot food and sashimi sections felt super small. At this price point (especially with tips pushing it over $40), I expected a lot more. Definitely room for improvement there. We also ordered the steak teriyaki and scallop hibachi. The portions were tiny--barely anything on the plate. Finally, we tried one of the chef's specials, the Spider Roll, mainly because I wanted to taste the soft-shell crab. Unfortunately, it was a bit fishy, and I couldn't even finish one piece. One last rant--the location is already pretty out of the way, but there's no WiFi, and somehow our phones couldn't even get a proper signal inside. The second we walked out, full bars again. Overall, I left kind of disappointed. Guess this one counts as a "tried it so you don't have to" situation.

Pleasantly surprised by those place. They have a hybrid buffet. There are 2 bars with hot and cold food items. Sushi, rolls, hibachi, and other items are AYCE a la carte that must be ordered thru the waiter. Service was quick. Sushi is made fresh and was very good. There are a few sushi items that have an upcharge like Toro (fatty tuna) and sweet shrimp. Everthing else is included in the buffet regular price. The hibachi offers large sea scallops' ribeye, and salmon and it was delicious. The hot bar had dim sum, short ribs, and crab legs. The cold bar had salmon and tuna tataki. Fresh fruit, desserts and ice cream are also available. We will definitely be back!

We went for the dinner AYCE at $29.99 per person, and kids under 3 eat free. Our toddler (3) and baby, free of costs. But our toddler did have his own meal (chicken nuggies and fries...what a plus!) Keep in mind that some items are included in the per-person price, while others come with an additional charge. For example, the fried ice cream dessert was $1 per serving on top of the AYCE cost. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. Now, onto the revolving sushi belt experience. The bottom belt is full of pre-made sushi, circulating around, while the top belt carries the sushi you've specifically ordered via iPad. This is where a few concerns come in. Since the pre-made sushi is constantly circulating, you don't always know if someone has fiddled with it. As for the iPad ordering system, it was placed up above the top sushi belt, which was a bit of a nuisance. It would have been easier to use if it was within arm's reach, but again, not a major issue. We opted to order items that would take time to prepare and came directly to our table, so we could avoid the pre-made conveyor. The fried ice cream dessert was great, tasty--but the spoon they gave me was dirty and sticky. It honestly felt like it had been used by a kid before being handed to me. Needless to say, I didn't use it. Service was solid. Our server was helpful, especially since it was our first time, and walked us through the process. Overall, it was a decent experience, but there are a few things that could be improved, particularly with cleanliness and the setup of the revolving belts.

Not consistent. That is why I try to visit during hours when I think there would be a manager on duty, like weekends for lunch. What makes Kura special? 1. Vibe - the vibe, sounds, and experience is exactly the same as Japan. Except the prices are about 5x higher because we are in the US. 2. You can get half rolls, to try more and they are currently about $3.70/plate. Compared to a local restaurant that would charge about $14/roll = $7 half plate. 3. Gyudon and Beef udon - taste and flavor are same quality and delicious as Japan. 4. Seasonal promotions - This is something that Japan does well and the US does not, which is exciting promotions based on seasonal cusines with fresh ingredients in season. Not only is it great for marketing, but it is exciting to see what's new. There are some items here that are just not worth the money, like $4 cup of soda, or overpriced shrimp tempura.

If you're in the mood for fresh fish, you might want to steer clear of this place. It felt more like a seafood museum than a sushi restaurant. My husband, who's usually great at impulse shopping, was grabbing plates like a kid in a candy store--only to experience instant buyer's remorse each time! We somehow ended up spending $80, which I can only assume went toward supporting the fish's retirement fund. Then came the ramen experience, or should I say *disappointment*. The meat and egg were colder than my ex's heart, the noodles had the texture of overcooked rubber bands, and the broth looked like it had seen better days. Do yourself a favor and avoid this sushi carousel of regret. There are plenty of other places around that won't leave you questioning your life choices. I definitely should have!

We got a bunch of things including the hibachi (steak and shrimp), Tomiyama chicken, pad Thai, and spring rolls. While everything was just mid, I have to call out the pad Thai and spring rolls. The pad Thai was so incredibly sweet, it tasted of ketchup. The spring rolls were definitely frozen, I could taste freezer in every bite. The sushi was ok, probably the best of everything. The hibachi chef was also very nice and did a great job with the "show". I have to say - the place was not clean either. I know it was probably busier than usual due to Eid, but everything was a little dirty - from dishes to the table to the thing you get your check in, they all had something gross on it. We were able to flag the staff down at some point to clean the table and dishes, but it still felt gross. Super disappointing experience. I was here about a year ago, I think their standards have dropped significantly.

First, let me say that I love this restaurant. I live in South Metro Atlanta, so for me to come all the way up to Buford, Georgia to eat at this place, I really like it. My previous experience has been nothing short of excellent. Even on this visit, the food was excellent and I had no complaints with its quality or in the environment in the establishment. However, when I walked in, I was greeted my an extremely rude young man at the front counter. He was so rude that, I decided to leave and went back to my car. As I sat there, I had to remind myself that I had driven over an hour and it would have been foolish to leave at this point. So, I went back inside and ordered. Again, extremely rude to myself and my guest. It was so bad that my guest also noticed. Even in telling us where to sit, he acted as if I was bothering him by coming inside and ordering food. When our food arrived to the table, he just slammed it down and walked off like he was annoyed. What was even more telling about how, insanely, disturbing his behavior, was that when he and his 'shift' left and was replaced my some young ladies, the experience, completely changed! I mean, immediately changed. The young ladies were helpful, pleasant, and friendly. The mood changed so drastically like night and day. Again, this food is good! The environment is neat! But, if this young man is continued to be allowed to interact with customers, there will be some continued problems.

It is a sushi restaurant so it is not expected to be cheap, and this particular restaurant serves quality sushi. The prices are at par with the quality, and in the many years we've gone here we have always experienced respectful service. In one or two occasions, the food may be delaye because the place is packed. We made our visit quite late on a Friday night this time and we were promptly seated. Our orders were taken with no delay. Our food arrived earlier than we expected and we each got the food we ordered. We were helped by an older lady who made sure she clarified our orders, and who checked on us routinely. We will go back again, as we love supporting locally owned businesses. For us, Sushi Niko Niko remains the best sushi restaurant around the Buford area.

The restaurant is now dine-in only (no more hibachi tables), but the experience is still absolutely worth it. The ambiance was warm and cozy ; it honestly felt like walking into a family member's house for lunch, which made the experience even better. The servers were very sweet and attentive, checking in at the right moments and making us feel genuinely welcomed. One thing to note: parking is very limited. The lot is small and tight, so it can be a bit tricky, especially during busy hours. Now let's get into the food. The menu has so many options, from the sushi bar to kitchen meals, plus plenty of lunch specials. They even offer a build-your-own bento box, which is such a win. You can choose from about 9 selections ; 2 picks for $15 or 3 picks for $17. I created my own bento with white rice, chicken katsu, a sushi combo (salmon, crab, shrimp nigiri + 2-piece California roll), and fried shrimp & vegetable tempura. The lunch special also includes soup and salad. The miso soup was very salty; I'd rate that a 3/10. The salad was decent; the ginger dressing leaned more citrusy and very light on ginger, which made it different. I'd give that a 6.5/10. That said... the bento box itself was a solid 10/10. I got all of this for under $20, and every bite hit. I was starving, and this combo absolutely did the job; happy food dance included :) Great value, comforting atmosphere, kind service, and lots of options. I'll definitely be back to try more bento combinations whenever I'm in the area. Sushi Niko Niko is officially a lunch favorite again!
