Went here on date night this weekend and had an awesome experience! This ain't yo mama's strip center sushi restaurant - from the finishes and ambiance to the food quality and level of service, Mika stack's up with the best of Denver's downtown sushi joints. We arrived towards then end of dinner rush and were seated very quickly. They had boards posted all over the restaurant with specials, including $1 nigiri/sushi pieces and BOGO sake! We ordered 4 rolls and a few sushi pieces each and were blown away by the quality of everything! And that was AFTER we finished gawking over the beautiful presentation that featured a backlit ice sculpture. I highly recommend the Summer Roll. It's a beautiful work of art that comes out looking like a dragon on the plate. It was one of the best tasting rolls we had too. NOTE: I hesitated to write a review at first, as I selfishly wanted to keep this awesome Arvada gem to myself. You MUST go check it out. Even worth a drive across town if you have to. read more

So I have been here three times now. All 3 times for lunch with their rad lunch special. Iv tried a majority of the sushi and have come to love the spicy tuna and salmon which I have pictures of. The sushi is always presented in a very attractive manner. The restaurant it self is also attractive and a nice place to sit down and eat at. They have alcoholic beverages and two different bars to sit at. They have two tvs usually playing sports and one projector that plays TV shows and other things. I am a pretty big sushi lover and I don't usually eat it unless I'm on the coast or in another country with killer sushi. This place does a fantastic job with their sushi and the fish quality is very good. They have other meat choices and lots of desserts too. I have yet to try those but they sound great. The service is superb and always asking how I'm doing and I need anything else. My drinks are filled constantly and with grace. I recommend this place and you should at least try the lunch special once as you get a decent amount of sushi and it will let you see for yourself. Overall this is my go to sushi place now. read more

The ginger dressing I can drink by the gallon. Allergies they most definitely can accommodate as well. This is definitely one of my top sushi restaurants I've been too. The sushi was so unbelievably fresh and the service was so attentive. They are a brand new sushi restaurant, and I've been to sushi restaurants all around the country and this is definitely one my top 3 in the country. I know within a few months, this place will be packed all the time, it won't take long. Of course the main thing that matters in any restaurant is the quality of the food and the service. If I could give 10 STARS I would, but the decor of the restaurant is very sleek and modern, and the placement of the fish and little lights they put on your dish just adds to the classiness of this restaurant. I did not try any of the appetizers as I just went straight for the sushi nigiri and a roll, but I am sure everything they make appetizer-wise is probably fantastic as well. OH did I mention that most pieces of sushi are ONLY $1.00 a piece? What bonus that is, BUT if any place had that, and the food happened to be terrible, then who really cares if it's that price. I sure as hell wouldn't come back. You just can't go wrong here, between the most absolutely friendly waitresses, the completely delicious fresh sushi and the ambiance of the place, I will be coming back here for a very very long time!! read more

I'm really surprised this place is almost at a 5 star. We ordered take out for 2, and spent nearly $90. The food is very very expensive, so I was expecting very good quality fish and tasty entrees. Upon the first bite of shrimp, my boyfriend spit it out and said there was no way that shrimp is fresh. I took a bite of tuna, and thought the exact same. It was inedible. We both were quite hungry and wanted to power through finishing everything because we had spent so much and hate wasting food. However, it was impossible. Every bite was a struggle. Nothing we ordered, out of the many different appetizers and rolls, tasted good. Nothing. I was super disappointed as I love sushi and had not tried this place out before (I've tried almost every sushi spot in our neighborhood). But this was just the worst. Save your money and go elsewhere, there are tons of other sushi restaurants that charge half the price for a roll and are better quality (Sushi Yume & Ooka are a good choice!). To management - I'm sure you are aware that your fish is no where near fresh. Please start serving fresher fish, you can really taste how long it's been sitting out. And no one likes eating bad fish. Hopefully this place ups their game (and starts charging less). We would be happy to give it another try if they made those recommended changes. read more

We decided to come here for Mother's Day and honestly it was so good! I usually eat AYCE for sushi but this was a way better! They offer $1 nigiri or $2 sashimi. The fish melts in your mouth and tastes very fresh! We tried to try a variety of different things, hence the boat! The presentation on the fish is so cool! There was dry ice on the displays. I've been exploring new sushi places in my area and I think this is my new go-to local place. I ordered a salmon+avocado roll, and a mango roll. They were both delicious. The salmon was soft and melt in your mouth. The mango roll was sweet and the tempura shrimp inside was really yummy. No weird fishy taste here, only good fishy taste! I came into town from LA and had a great craving for sushi. Being from one of the best sushi cities in the world and close to the source of fresh fish, I was a bit skeptical on sushi in the mountains. I chose this place based on the location (needed something close to where I was staying) and the yelp reviews. I must say I was not disappointed. The service was top notch, the fish was fresh, and the presentation was phenomenal. $1 sushi, $2 beers and bogo sake sealed the deal. I was full to the gills and a nice buzz for all under $50 with tip. A good deal for what I received. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again next time I'm back in the mile high city. Bravo! read more

We ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch and the 3 roll lunch (spicy crab, spicy yellowtail, and spicy tuna), and a spicy scallop roll as well.
