Very easy manner that put us at ease. It was almost like we enjoyed chatting with him (while he answered our questions) so much it was almost a case of "Oh yeah, you need to look at the roof." Wes not only went up onto the roof, he took photos of everything and gave us an honest appraisal of the work done by the previous roofing company. giving suggestions on how to improve that job along with the new repairs he would do. On the scheduled day of the repair, Wes showed up with two trucks and entire crew. The work was done within a couple of hours and once again, Wes had photos of what he'd done. The proof of the quality of his company's work is that we didn't get a single roof leak during all the heavy rains from the atmospheric rivers that have been flowing over our heads. Not to worry: he guarantees the work over a specified time period. In addition to the roof repair, his guys cleaned the moss off the shingles, cleaned out the rain gutters AND picked up all the roofing nails off the ground. With the previous company, we were finding nails in the front and back yards for months. So yeah, we found our honest, extremely thorough roofing company. The good news for us is that we'll be scheduling another appointment. Our detached garage has moss all over the roof and we're sure the gutters and drains need clearing out too. Which is another cool thing about Wes's company: some roofers will only come out to put on a new roof and nothing else. I had to call them again to see if they do it, they said yes they do, but then they changed their story. I said how big the house was and I'd love for the gutters and siding to be pressure washed. I proceeded to say it's vinyl siding. That's where they said they didn't do pressure washing because the vinyl siding is odd and it wouldn't look good. I appreciate their honesty, but I would have been nice to be upfront and say they do not service vinyl siding homes rather than just simply saying 'yes' they do pressure washing.

I ask my retired uncle…read morewho built homes who he used as a roofer and he told me he used Cogent for years and was always happy. I called them up and got on their list. Yes, they have a long waiting list, but it's worth the wait. They finally came out this week and as with everything else in my life, the roof was worse than anticipated. I assumed as much because that's the way things work with me. They ended up having to take off all the sheeting, vents, the works! The roof was put together with 3/8" ply from 40+ years ago. They replaced all that out with much thicker stuff; I think it was 1/2" or even 5/8"; not sure. The eves don't sag any more and I can't count the rafters from standing outside anymore as the roof is flat now. It only took them about 1/2 day longer than anticipated too. These are some hard working men!!! I would have died on the first day up on that roof but they just kept going. This is one of these rare times in life when you hire someone to do something and they do better than you think. That is pretty rare now days. If you need a roof, give Cogent a call.

The stain was an oil base and after it was applied, the deck was slippery. My grandson and I both slipped and fell on the deck. After talking to his worker, he said it shouldn't be slippery. Also, after morning mist, we noticed mold or algae coming through. After two weeks , Justin couldn't solve the problem. He did send someone to power wash the deck which took away the excess oil however the algae or mold is still present. The owner, Justin, says there is nothing else that could be done and refuses to remedy this issue. I WOULD NOT recommend this company or individual to work on any part of my house again. There is no follow through and after he gets his money he is on to the next job.
