After our late escape room we were hungry. This place was open til midnight. I like the inside as its very roomie. There's even a bar area. The menu is westernized. They have English names rather than Vietnamese names. The food is ok. I couldn't get past the bland banh mi made with reg mayo and not Vietnamese butter (egg mayo butter). There's no pate either. This was an underwhelming sandwich. The vermicelli with pork was bland as it's all about the sauce. The sauce had no life. My bun rieu was really decent. This was actually good. However, the tofu was really gross and they had chicken meat. Chicken meat! This is the most whitest thing ever! Its was also VERY dry. The bun bo hue was OK. Not bad and not decent. The service was good. They were really nice even if it was really late. 45m before they close.

Mignon Pho & Grill is a solid spot in Kearny Mesa for fresh and flavorful Vietnamese dishes. I went with the vermicelli shrimp, and it was light, well-balanced, and packed with fresh ingredients--the shrimp was cooked perfectly and paired really well with the noodles and veggies. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt clean and casual. It's a great option for a quick, satisfying meal, especially if you're looking for something fresh and not too heavy.

Stopped by on Saturday afternoon to pick up lunch to-go. I ordered filet mignon pho and shrimp rice paper wraps. Everything was tasty, and the best part was the food was ready in 10 minutes which was perfect since I was on a time constraint!

This place hits the spot EVERY time!!! Everything is fresh. From the spring rolls rice paper, to the pho noodles. & the damn the broth is just peak! So delicious absolutely recommend. Beautiful interior too. I love a nice place I can enjoy a nice meal. Thank you guys for keeping it fresh & friendly :)

To preface, I came here with a party of 8. Everything went well when we ordered, the server took all of our orders and brought us waters to drink. The problem was it took forever for them to bring out our food. There were other large parties (of 5-8) that came after us who got their food before we did. It took quite a while for everyone at my table to get their order. Otherwise, the food was great. The pho was nice and warm, noodles cooked well, and broth flavorful. Food alone, it was very tasty, I honestly enjoyed it a lot. My final thoughts, even though I didn't have the best experience with service, the food was still good. Honestly I think it was the fact my party was so big that I encountered these issues. Otherwise I think your experience here would be much more pleasant.

We had: Beef and Shrimp Rice Plate upgraded to fried rice and fried egg Pork Chop and Rice Plate upgraded to fried rice and fried egg Egg Rolls Both the beef and pork were tough not tender. It was definitely a jaw exercise chewing. Vietnamese restaurants are known for flavor with so many seasonings bountiful. But these meats had no marinade. We were expecting lemongrass, garlic, and fish sauce, but there wasn't even salt and pepper. The fried rice was also bland and had no smoky flavor. The egg was fried perfectly Asian style with crispy edges, fully set whites, no raw spots with silky runny yolk. Most of all it was not greasy. The egg rolls are four stars. A lot of wrapper and too little filling. With regard to accessibility, there are very few disabled spots. The regular spaces are tight and you'll likely bump into a car getting out and even more difficult if you have a wheelchair or accessibility scooter. This complex has a lot of other restaurants and the Nijiya grocery store so it gets really packed.

Food was great, fast service. Interior was clean and ambiance feels like it's the spot to be on the weekends with a long bar and lots of drink options. A few claw machines to keep the kids entertained. Menu had plenty to choose from, including kid options.

Food was awesome. Got the Hue Pho and a lemon drop. Only criticism is that the service was rather slow . Besides that I highly recommend.

We walked in at about 5pm on a Thursday. It wasn't busy - about 3 tables occupied with a few more tables filled as we sat. We were greeted and seated right away, anywhere we'd like. Music was playing that wasn't overly loud along with TVs on - on mute. We were serviced shortly after seating. They provided great customer service. Everyone we encountered was patient and friendly. Food we had: Bun Xeo (vegetarian with fried tofu) - the crepe itself was good and crisp however the sauce was more soy sauce based rather than the traditional fish sauce base. Shaken beef - meat was tender and flavorful. Salad was super fresh! Shrimp spring roll - the roll itself was soft and fresh however I'd prefer more veggies rather than packing it with noodles. Also, the peanut sauce was a bit too plain, for my liking. I had to add sate in every bite. Overall, food didn't taste traditional, definitely didn't beat my Mom's cooking, but I get it, I didn't go there for my Mom's cooking! Our dishes were decent, for an "American" version, if you will. I'll have to try a bowl of pho next time.

Came here for dinner after work and we ordered spring rolls, bun do hue beef cut, and chicken pho. The broth from both soup was delicious. It wasn't too spicy but had a lot of beef cuts inside. I like that they give a generous amount of cabbage and bean sprouts. The service was quick but waited awhile for the check. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. It is located in a shopping plaza and there is plenty of parking.

Service was fast and the food was good. I tried a seafood soup. It was tomato based with a light broth. It was not busy but seems like a nice place to come. Server/cashier was really nice. The decor was simple. Loved the koi fish barrel near the cash register.

I've been ordering here for a long time but last night will change that going forward. I usually order off one of their food delivery apps but I was close by so I ordered for pick up. I ordered the Mignon pho bowl with spicy broth. I checked the bag before leaving and the broth was not filled all the way to the top so I asked for a little more broth. He said, sorry my friend, we will have to charge you for extra broth even though I paid for it! Wow, they've definitely went down hill since I started coming here. They lost a loyal customer for sure!

I'm not really a fan of Pho in general, but a friend wanted Pho so I suggested this place because I think its a modern take on pho. So its not your traditional pho but has more modern options that a normal pho place. We started with an order of egg rolls, they were crispy and delicious. I normally don't like the dipping sauce at traditional Vietnamese places because its very fish sauce heavy, but since I didn't get a strong fish sauce smell I gave it a small dip; Not bad no strong fish sauce taste! Thats a huge plus for me! I just ate my egg rolls with sriracha though. For my entree, I was trying to decide between the short rib pho, ox tail pho and ox tail bun bo hue. I asked the waiter his opinion he suggested the short rib pho. When it came out, I was so surprised! I can see why he suggested it, it was a whole beef rib! The rib meat had been braised and was very tender and meaty. Yes the prices are a bit higher than your traditional pho place but they have more updated modern offerings. So don't go there and get the regular pho that you would at your normal pho shop, that's not why you come here. I forget what my friend ordered, some more traditional type of pho, he said it was very clean and tasty. It's in the same parking lot as Nijiya, Okan and Karami ramen so theres a large parking lot but some of the spaces are really tight, so if you can find one with adequate space take it, or park on the street for more stress free parking. Service was good, the waiter gave a great suggestion and refilled waters in a timely manner. There were only 1 or 2 servers but it wasn't too crowded. I recommend this place if you want to try Pho 2.0

I see from the photos there are a few tv's inside. I know it is NOT a sports bar, but is it an ok place to bring a small group and have lunch and some drinks and watch a football game this sunday?

Yes it is a good enough spot to watch a game. They got some flat screens and comfortable spacing to watch a game. I am not sure if the TVs have sound though.

So, I'll leave a legitimate review along with pictures. Initially, we were ambivalent about trying this place due to the high prices but they also have an exceptional rating on Google and Yelp. 4.9 on both Google and Yelp, that's rare. We bit the bullet and headed there. Parking can be tough but luckily we found parking in front of the restaurant. It was free after 8 pm on a Tuesday. If you go earlier or on the weekends, I would read the parking sign more carefully. There might be free street parking on the left side behind the restaurant. Don't quote me on that. Like I said, parking is not as easy as other places in SD. There are quite a bit of tables to sit in. It wasn't busy when we went. Yes, they do have a very large menu with like 1,000 items. We are not vegetarian or vegan but we have tried vegan places in Denver, CO. We ordered eel Helen pho roll, crispy beef chestnut and pineapple banh mi, and duck wonton noodle soup. The owner also gave us complimentary desserts, vegan corn pudding and vegan creme. She also gave us cookies and two cups of that delicious special water to go. That special water is hands down one of the best drinks I've ever had. Prices range $22-30. -eel Helen pho roll 5 - not real eel but this was very tasty. The hostess had a note for our anniversary celebration. They also printed a little celebatory note directly on the menu - a great personal touch. Our server was friendly and answered any questions we had. We ordered the beef tartare, smoked aged duck, and the deep fried sand bass. For the drink we ordered the Seasame Soirée. While our food came out pretty slow, I'd say it was worth the wait. We also enjoyed 2 complimentary glasses of bubbly while we waited as part of our anniversary celebration. The restarant itself is decorated beautifully with a jazzy ambiance. The interior had bits of gold and green with a beautiful pearlescent leafy wallpaper. The bar is located in the center and also doubles as a centerpiece to the restuarant. Restrooms are located in the back - there we many private, clean and spacious rooms. Below is a summary of the food we ordered: Beef Tartare (5/5) - Savory, sweet and spicy beef tartare dressed in fish sauce and thai chilis. Paired alongside fresh herbs like cilantro, shiso, argula and radicchio. The sesame rice crackers were light and airy. Smoked Dry Aged Duck (5/5) - Perfectly cooked, sweet and salty aged smoked duck paired with rice noodles, herbs and 2 different sauces. I appreciated the many ways you can wrap and enjoy the duck. I do wish the slices of duck were either smaller or thinner - it's hard to eat in one bite. Whole Fried Sand Bass (4/5) - I'll always order a whole firied fish wherever I go and this was no expection. I loved the sweet & sour ginger sauce. The fish was a bit over-fried in my personal opinion, but the inside is still very soft and tender. Sweet & Sour Rice Noodles (5/5) - Aboslutely delicious! Slippery and cold rice noodles dressed in fish sauce and other seasonings. It's not overpowering at all and goes great with the Whole Fried fish as well. Seasame Soiree Cocktail (5/5) - A very unique drink made with gin, ginger, coconut, seasame seeds and more. It was very fragrant in the best way. The flavor really develops after the first sip. I love how nutty and decadent yet light this drink is. Overall, I had a great experience here and this is one of the top restaurants I've had the pleasure of enjoying in SD.
