DIOS MIO !!! Who…read moreknew I'd travel all the way from Los Angeles, CA to Hillsborough, NC to find my favorite Mexican Restaurant!?! Okay, I can't take credit for finding it - my sister, who really knows how to find the best spots anywhere and everywhere told us this is the one! Muchas gracias, mi hermana ‍‍ Well, let's be real, I do have other favorites for different reasons, but everything here is fresh, authentic, and on-point! I would make a trip to Hillsborough just to eat at Tacos Los Altos. They have a great menu, the place is super charming (both inside and on the patio in front), plus they have really good margaritas served in glasses that add to the party vibe. Mom and I really enjoyed our food, then my niece and nephew found us and they loved theirs as well. My nephew was the only one to finish his meal, however. The portions are huge, so be ready for leftovers. I had the chicken breast enchiladas suizas and was amazed at how flavorful and moist the white meat was. They don't skimp on the cheese, either! Our server was kind and attentive, and none of the staff seemed annoyed that we were there a little late in the afternoon when they probably could have been taking a little break. We parked near the Colonial Inn and walked along the super charming street to this gem of a restaurant. I want to go back there right now. Let's hope this family-owned and operated business thrives for generations.

Service was super friendly -- the server knew my friend's order off the top of her head, made sure we had all we need, and other folks in the restaurant were friendly, too, it's. Tiny interior, but feels cozy and makes you feel like you're in a little taqueria in Playa del Carmen or something. Highly recommend. These folks know what they're doing and are a major asset to the community.

Ordering in advance online is the way to go, food ready right on time and piping hot. The menu is straightforward with around 9 choices. I tried the All About Bo. This is a sampler of sorts. I opted for beef mandu and beef bulgogi. Mandu are fried dumplings. In retrospect I should have ordered mine with the spicy pork. The beef were delicious, but sort of bland. Luckily there's a dipping sauce to punch them up. The bulgogi is outstanding. Thin cut ribeye is marinated in savory sauce and then grilled. It's super tender and sweet. At Bo's the bulgogi is served over a bed of rice & mixed greens. Sort of a take on bibimbap; a very tasty combo. Others tried the spicy pork & spicy chicken bulgogi options, agreement around the table is that the beef bulgogi is the winner...but it's a close race. Be on the lookout for this truck... Good food!

It has a decent amount of street parking, as well as a large green area with toys where kids can and do play. They have plenty of outdoor seating so this is a great spot to come and relax on a spring or summer afternoon/evening. I didn't feel like it was too busy when we got there, but it did take them a little bit to take our orders, get our drinks, and get our food out, so maybe it was. That being said, the ladies handling orders were MOVING. The menu does not list prices. You have to go to their website to see what the current price of food is. I got an order of the chips and guac and the fish tacos (grilled). The fish tacos were huge, which was delightful and it came with three. The guac was okay - I think it needed more cilantro, lime, or salt. My friend got the aguachile and an order of chilaquiles rojo. The aguachile was in this delightfully spicy green sauce - I took some and drenched my taco in it. The perfect combo! The aguachile is huge so my friend sent me home with some, along with my one remaining fish taco. Both were delicious as leftovers.

There are so many good wing options in Durham, and this was right up there with them. We did the chick-n-weck flavor which they said most people don't get because they don't know what it is. It was definitely different, but in a great way. We also did the dumplings which were deep-fried and delicious and even the fries were great!
