Amazing, quick service & assessment!…read more Yesterday, I drove fast into a puddle on the freeway that I didnt expect was on a ramp due to the heavy rain. The impact of the water flipped part of the guard backwards causing me to drag a piece of my car all the way back home. I decided to call MJ automotive as soon as they opened to inquire if they could help. I spoke to them about the situation and they said to come down to assess if they can fix it. As soon as I pulled into the driveway, one of the mechanics came over to check the car. After they loaded the car up, he showed me where the damage was and also that a guard was completely missing (not sure when that even happened but completely separate from yesterday's event). So blessed it was such a quick and easy fix! They had to replace 4 bolts that went missing and inverted the piece that was dragging. Good thing it didnt need a full replacement because it wasn't necessary. I inquired about the big guard , whether it was necessary to replace as well & they said it was a piece that would just continue to get damaged and waste of money again if I did. & with that I appreciate their sincere honesty in their work. Their service and prices seemed fair! Would definitely recommend this place!

Took my car to Vermont Auto Center for brakes and had to change all 4. While I was there, the asian…read moreowner told me that he would have to break one of my lugs because it was threaded and unable to get to the brakes without breaking it. I told him to go ahead if that's what needed to do. I have never had any problems with any of my lugs on any of my cars, but I couldn't pin point how this could've happened because I've had that tire changed not too long ago. So I was charged $420 for the 4 new brakes. I was told that to fix the lug would be around $350. I didn't get the lug fixed, but when I went to pick up the car, I was told that when he took my car around the block, he heard a noise from the right side of my car. I knew about that rattling noise because about 2 weeks prior I hit the curb and started hearing the noise. I was told that the noise was the right bearing and would be about $300 to fix. I asked if it had to be fixed immediately and he said no, but it would just keep getting louder. The following week, I took the car back to get the right bearing fixed. I had my mom pick up the car and asked her if she still heard the noise. She said no so I thought it was fixed. The next day was Friday and as soon as I drove the car, I heard the same noise. I didn't drive the car much over the weekend, but Monday morning I called... I told the asian owner about the noise that I was still hearing on the right side of my car. To my SURPRISE, I was told that he fixed the left side bearings because "when he opened it up, he noticed the left side was worse that the right". This happened without me not getting a phone call to inform me of the changes that was happening. When was I gonna be informed that what we agreed on wasn't what was being done? After paying $420 for Brakes and $310 for the "bearing" I'm still left with this rattling that sounds like my engine is about to fall out. Fast forward to me going to Jiffy Lube yesterday and them informing me that I have a serious valve cover leak that needs to be fixed immediately. Guess which side it is on... the right side that I hit on the curb. I will never take my car to this mechanic again. As a woman, I feel cheated. I feel like mechanics see me as someone who they can take advantage of. He took care of the smallest problem so that I'd keep coming back when the other problems got worse. Who can I trust?
