Genevive is one of the most loving and sincerely gifted horsewo'manship teachers I know. Her animals love her so much that she is nick named 'snow white' as you will notice when you visit this magical place she is followed by two cats and three dogs. They literally follow her wherever she goes on the ranch and that tells me alot about a person (kind, empathic). She is empathic, and professional, a great mix. The huge covered arena is magic! The million dollar veiu is amazing and because it is high up there is shade and a cool breeze. Also at night, lit up, it is beautiful. Knowing Genevive and working with her on a weekly basis for five years I never once have seen her lose her cool, she remains professional and consistantly there for the students and horses. Miercoles Moon for me is a truly magical, holistic, even healing, place to learn to ride horses. I enjoy how Genevive teaches, how her horses hold the children and make what is already a wonderful activity all the more life changing and deep. If you make the trip to Miercoles Moon from Austin, it is a beautiful journey, one I look forward to. Driving there and back because it's hill country at its best and when you arrive you are in a rarified world created by Genevive, her love, her pixie like sense of fun and her well loved, sensible, calm, happy horses.

It was more than we could imagine, we stayed in a lovely room, with comfortable beds, a fire place and a cute bathroom. There was even an enclosed patio with a gate off of the room (made it easier to let the dog out in the morning). The space was very open and we felt like we were at home. There was wireless internet, satellite TV and plenty of space for my friend, my dog and I to roam around. We were the only ones there during our stay and my dog LOVED it! Plenty to sniff and explore. Anne, the owner is wonderful and sweet. She recommended great places for us to eat and helped us find our way around. They offer great pet services and we were allowed to leave our well-behaved dog in the room. The breakfasts were delicious, every morning there was coffee, tea, juice, granola with fresh fruit and yogurt. And if you wanted eggs and bacon made to order with scones! This is a little ways outside of Santa Fe but so worth the stay, much better than being in a city. The views from the Hacienda were gorgeous and we saw snow, clear skies, cloudy days, and starry nights (in the two days we were there in late March). It was gorgeous! Can't wait to go back!

Each room and main room had a fireplace which was a nice touch to add to the ambiance with the fall weather. The place decorates itself- the architecture is southwestern and unique. The views are gorgeous and the place is perfectly secluded, yet there is still access to the funky little town of Madrid close by. We couldn't have picked a better spot for our intimate family wedding. The team at the Hacienda made planning from a distance very easy for us and we were well taken care of. We are truly so happy with our choice to get married at Hacienda Dona Andrea :)

I haven't seen another gallery with such an extensive and great mix of photographic exhibits such as the amazing 60's counterculture and rock photography of Lisa Law to Kisa Kavas' hauntingly beautiful work of wild and domestic rescue horses. I also love seeing  David Michael Kennedy's intimate pictures of famous musicians and Native American culture. All of the artists I've seen there are deep and accomplished. I've learned a lot just by looking at the work at Edition One Gallery. I also appreciate that the work is available at different price points making it widely accessable. Thank you!

The building itself is a marvel with a center round skylight (I'm describing it ooorly) and a front fountain. It's LOVELY. I could have spent hours sitting and wandering the multiple artists' collections. There are paintings, sculpture and photography to look at but the photographic artists seem to be the favorite of the owner (and also of me, which is why I loved it so much!) The variety of artists and topics are impressive and the artists are broken up by subject matter, with the back room being dedicated to rock and roll and the main room broken into NM culture, wildlife, and others. The pricing ranges from many thousands for the larger, framed pieces to under $100 for some of the matted photos arranged in racks below the frames. I ended up ourchasing three pieces, one of which was an original by the owner, which she gladly signed for my ever-growing collection. I will be back. And you should go! This is a unique, enriching experience and one which everyone should have.
