Needless to say, their repair hasn't held. The pvc piping they installed won't even stay together. It only held for a few months and then just came apart-- leaving us with having to have a bucket beneath the sink. I'm just frustrated enough to write this updated review now because I have to pay to have another plumber come out to fix their work. These people are predatory and unprofessional. Would not recommend. What would've been nice is if the owner of this plumbing company saw the invoice number on my receipt in the last post and tried to reach out-- but he didn't. Instead he implied that we didn't even have his company service my mother's home. Having integrity in your business -- owning a job and its result means something.

The overnight temps were below zero, the water supply is on the outside wall = frozen pipes. I called a number of local plumbers, and no one had anyone that could get to me quickly. Tarvin initially told me I would have to be a work in, understandably, I was not the first call for frozen pipes! Maybe 20 mins later, I received a call back from Tarvin and they told me a tech could meet me at my house in 45 mins. When the tech arrived (cannot remember his name), he told me they pulled him from his office duties for the day to take care of my issue. He was polite, friendly and got right to work. Within 15 mins he had the frozen line thawed, with no apparent leaks (fingers crossed). Polite, professional and reasonably priced. They also recommended a permanent fix for the freezing issue. The gentleman quoted me $1,695 in labor, as all the parts would be reused just refitted. I left work early, drove down there, disassembled, cleaned, and refitted them myself in 45 minutes. Duke came out inspected and turned the gas on. $1,695 for 45 minutes of work is disgraceful. You are taking advantage of people. I will be watching and reporting if you try to take my review down.

After installation we had noises, vibrations, extreme wait times for hot water, and the complete loss of hot water two times. Eventually, on October 22, 2025, we asked Bassett to remove the tankless unit and install a traditional water heater, forced air vent and a recirculating pump, which they did. However, they charged us the same amount for the hot water tank as they did for the tankless. Because of previous estimates there should have been a $2000 less cost. After several calls to the company, we NEVER did receive an itemized bill for the final installation and equipment now in our home, nor a return phone call from the manager. We are very disappointed with Bassett Services....now called Fire and Ice.

We called Best plumbing and was redirected to Bassett. They took our info and had a technician call us within a couple of hours and he was at our place. He assessed the problem and gave us 3 options. We chose the best for our budget and he made a materials list and said he would return to do the job. An hour or so later he was there with a quality unit of our choosing and the upgraded power vent model we wanted to change to. He did the work really timely and was a very clean meticulous worker. We had a new furnace put in 2 years ago. Apparently, it needed a larger filter. They did not catch…read morethat until they came out for a routine maintenance call. When I called to inquire why they hadn't put it in with the new furnace, they sent the original sales tech. He admitted his error and that we needed a bigger filter which would match the furnace and make our furnace more efficient and quieter. Schneller Knochelmann covered the whole repair because they admitted their error. Jacob and Mark were qualified and did the job quickly. The company stood behind work 100% and were willing to admit an oversight. I appreciate a company with integrity.
