I had this shop Midwest Tire & Auto put an engine in my 2008 Chevy Equinox Sport during the months of May & June 2019. I thought that they would have done a great service to me and my family but instead they caused us nothing but damages in the result of the lost of our vehicle. I brought my vehicle home from that shop June 20th and it had an excessive oil leak. I called the owner and request that he take it back and fix the leak, he agreed to look at it on the 5th of July due to it being the holiday weekend. So, July 3rd while my wife and children were travelling in the Equinox it started smoking not even 11 miles from home on the expressway. Once she came to a complete stop to the shoulder of the expressway heavy smoke started coming from under the dashboard. My wife jump out the car and pulled my 2 sons out and tried to get my daughter out while flames came from the front. During the panic of removing my 4 year daughter out the flaming vehicle, her seatbelt jammed but came unloose. No one was harm, I retrieve and police report and called the owner and asked for a refund and a copy of the receipt. He denied and spoke with no remorse for the damages and turmoil caused by his negligence. I called and called and called and request for a copy of the receipt for months and finally, had a Rep from my bank/ insurance company on a recorded line request for a copy. He agreed to send them a copy and for me to come and retrieve a copy from his shop. I went to the shop after all was said and done over a "LEGALLY RECORDED AGREEMENT" to get a copy of the receipt and he denied it. I walked out while recording the visitation from the shop with no aggression and he came out in a threaten manner. Walking up to me and speaking violently grabbing the door to my vehicle away from me as I was getting into it. I spoke with several legal representatives on the matter and even a town of Cicero legal official. The matter is being addressed and I would not recommend myself nor any person (s) I know to conduct business with this establishment. After all the hard work that consumers put into trusting businesses, no one should have to deal with someone else's negligence with the lack of integrity. read more
