This company supplies many different entertainment program options to schools. My review is for my recent experience hiring and watching the "Readers Are Leaders" show.
The presenter, Eugene, was professional and was setup in our gym even before I got to the school to greet him. Even though the show was early in the morning, Eugene was still full of energy and enthusiasm that carried throughout the show. He was very comfortable with the audience of varying ages and the students all seemed to respond very well to his humor and energy.
We were looking for a show that would be a motivational and fun kick-off to our school-wide reading challenge. I feel that "Readers Are Leaders" was a good choice. The show is a bit hard to describe. There were some magic tricks, some comedy, and opportunities for students to dress up and act out stories. I think there was enough variety of things happening that the students did not seem to get restless. Some of the comedy was a bit "corny", but I was not the target audience. My daughter said the show was "really, really funny", so what do I know. :)
Eugene talked about how to put a story together and important parts of sentences. He also talked about why reading is important. There was a brief time where he talked about reading making good leaders . Teachers seems pleased with the information conveyed in the show.
I have not been on the hiring end of a program like this in the past, so I don't really have a baseline to compare this experience to. I do know, however, that my overall experience was a positive one. Should I have the need to hire similar programs in the future, I would start with Midwest School Shows, based solely on my recent experience with "Readers Are Leaders" and my interaction with the company employees. read more
