I am not typically one to write a nasty review because I used to work in food service and I learned…read morethat some customers simply cannot be pleased. However, I had a TERRIBLE experience with this business today after doing nothing wrong and I feel that I could probably help some fellow brides avoid a similar situation by explaining what happened to me here. I contacted EEG two days ago about renting a drapery backdrop for my wedding in two months. I fully intended on renting from them because they have done events at my venue before, and I am in a hurry. Someone replied to me very quickly and we set up an appointment for today. My last e-mail sent two days ago read: "Perfect! See you then!" This morning, I had a dress-fitting appointment. EEG sent me an e-mail to confirm my afternoon appointment while I was at my dress fitting, so I did not see it. When I got out of my dress fitting appointment, I called EEG to see if it was possible for them to see me early because I was ahead of schedule and close by. The woman on the phone informed me that no, they could not see me early (that's not a problem), and also that my appointment had been cancelled because I had not responded to the confirmation e-mail sent three hours prior. They booked another appointment in place of mine. My mom drove in from out of town to come with me to the appointment. I was very disappointed and when I expressed my disappointment (in other words, I WAS PISSED!), they offered me an evening appointment and proceeded to say "We aren't going to argue with you. Do you want to come in or not?" I said no thank you. This business had no reason to believe that I wouldn't show up to my appointment. My guess is that they got an opportunity to make more money off another client and so they disregarded my business. I am so disgusted and I have never experienced such terrible customer service. I'm sure their linens are beautiful but this business needs to learn that personality is everything when it comes to running a successful business. Very, very disappointed.

Two Thumbs Up for Encore!…read more Encore Event Group knocked it out of the park for our party in celebration of the consecration of Bishop Perry on Friday night! This bunch of Episcopalians from near and far had a blast, and danced the night away with Encore! We so much appreciate Rob, Nicole, and the team's professionalism and service. Everything went smoothly on the front end, all the way through the event. Our playlist was fulfilled perfectly, and the evening ended right on time with "Don't Stop Believing", which was sheer perfection! Also, you read the crowd perfectly, and added just the right additional songs, including that Polka music. How did you know? Many Thanks! We are going to work with to get on your calendar for an event this October. We highly recommend Encore Event Group!

Why hire a DJ when you can get a super-talented one-man-band!?!…read more You had better believe it - Rick C. definitely ROCKS! My husband and I had seen Rick perform at 336 Main in Plymouth a few years back and decided we wanted to hire him when we got married. Wow - were we not disappointed! If you think he sounds good in a noisy bar - just wait until you hear him in a quieter space...an outdoor wedding reception tent perhaps? Amazing! Like I said before - this guy is definitely super, super talented and really knows how to work a crowd. Rick was the life of our reception and made the entire evening a smash success. Nothing phased him - from singing the last part of our first dance together a capella due to a popcorn machine temporarily blowing a fuse -to- masterfully taking requests from the crowd (including knowing how to handle requests from young girls asking for him to play Justin Bieber songs) -to- playing multiple instruments at one time and even dancing a final dance with our guests. We'd hire him in a heartbeat for any future event...and our friends and family can't stop talking about him. He was even so masterful with his mixing that some people thought he never took a break the entire night. Thanks so much Rick - you're pretty darn awesome :) BTW...we've also heard good things about Rick's band - Ultraviolet - if you're looking to spend a little more money and hire a full band to really impress your guests. Our event only had around 100 people so we decided the band might have been a little too overpowering for our venue.

Highly recommend! Easy to work with busy schedule! Would hire again over others in the local area!read more

I helped our PTA schedule 4 school enrichment assemblies this Fall, and ended up scheduling two of…read morethose programs from Midwest School Shows. I was very impressed with their professionalism and fast response to my frequent questions (thanks Brandi), as well as the big selection of different programs they had to choose from. This was good company for a newbie PTA planner, like myself, to work with. I will be using them as a resource for Spring programs as well. The two programs from Midwest School Shows we scheduled were very well received everyone at our school. The students enjoyed the 'Super U Challenge' assembly the most out of all our four assemblies. The 'Hartbeat of America' harp player was also fun, but I think appealed more towards the K-3 grades. Both presentations were very professionally put together and the entertainers skilled at capturing the attention of the 350-something students. I had several teachers comment that they were very impressed with the presentations. I felt the fees were reasonable, but as a PTA you always wish you could spend less. We debated between having the programs present two performances on the same day to make the audiences smaller. I think I wish we had, as it would have allowed for more of the audience to be close to the "action". But, you have to do what you can to stretch those PTA funds.
