I am not typically one to write a nasty review because I used to work in food service and I learned that some customers simply cannot be pleased. However, I had a TERRIBLE experience with this business today after doing nothing wrong and I feel that I could probably help some fellow brides avoid a similar situation by explaining what happened to me here. I contacted EEG two days ago about renting a drapery backdrop for my wedding in two months. I fully intended on renting from them because they have done events at my venue before, and I am in a hurry. Someone replied to me very quickly and we set up an appointment for today. My last e-mail sent two days ago read: "Perfect! See you then!" This morning, I had a dress-fitting appointment. EEG sent me an e-mail to confirm my afternoon appointment while I was at my dress fitting, so I did not see it. When I got out of my dress fitting appointment, I called EEG to see if it was possible for them to see me early because I was ahead of schedule and close by. The woman on the phone informed me that no, they could not see me early (that's not a problem), and also that my appointment had been cancelled because I had not responded to the confirmation e-mail sent three hours prior. They booked another appointment in place of mine. My mom drove in from out of town to come with me to the appointment. I was very disappointed and when I expressed my disappointment (in other words, I WAS PISSED!), they offered me an evening appointment and proceeded to say "We aren't going to argue with you. Do you want to come in or not?" I said no thank you. This business had no reason to believe that I wouldn't show up to my appointment. My guess is that they got an opportunity to make more money off another client and so they disregarded my business. I am so disgusted and I have never experienced such terrible customer service. I'm sure their linens are beautiful but this business needs to learn that personality is everything when it comes to running a successful business. Very, very disappointed. read more

Two Thumbs Up for Encore! Encore Event Group knocked it out of the park for our party in celebration of the consecration of Bishop Perry on Friday night! This bunch of Episcopalians from near and far had a blast, and danced the night away with Encore! We so much appreciate Rob, Nicole, and the team's professionalism and service. Everything went smoothly on the front end, all the way through the event. Our playlist was fulfilled perfectly, and the evening ended right on time with "Don't Stop Believing", which was sheer perfection! WOW!! Talk about a show stopping event and experience. I met Rob at a bridal show and he was the ONLY DJ who had a full dancefloor with lights and music playing to really experience what it would be like to work with him! We spent less than 5 minutes chatting and he said okay let me show you what I would do to get everyone on the dancefloor- SOLD, literally was ready to leave a deposit on the spot. We set up a consultation and I was even more BLOWN AWAY! Talk about someone who will really bring your vision to life, and not only top it with his ideas but someone who truly LOVES his career. He is so passionate and creative and will literally ROCK it out! He was the most fantastic MC I've ever experienced, kept people on the dancefloor, and just really was the entertainment of the event. Incredible to work with! We decided to go all out "Club LH" with the uplighiting which made such a HUGE difference, moving lights with the music, chandeliers on the dancefloor and monogram above the head table- it was nothing less than IMPRESSIVE! Hired them for our wedding and I LOVED them! I bundled DJ, lighting, Chappa, and photo booth. They truly made my wedding day so prefect. They were very professional and did better than what I expected from them. DJ Jacob Perzyk was wonderful and Honey Cunningham who did the photobooth was so sweet, she let my friends and I use the photobooth after our time was up. I am so glad I hired them for my wedding. Not to mention, the owner Rob Reno was great. From the first time I spoke to him about possibly hiring him for my wedding, I was sold. Encore Event Group was amazing and the right choice for our wedding. I had no idea just how important the dj is in running the show. Initially when we were planning our wedding, Encore Event was the first company we talked to. From the get go our initial interaction with Rob was extremely positive and kept the focus on trying to achieve our dreams. He was patient when he learned we had no idea what we wanted, and helped us methodically select choices once he understood our personalities. We ended up bundling multiple services through him which were at a savings (especially after comparing prices at various expos). We used his DJ, lighting/decor and photobooth services. We ended up going for an enchanted forest look. We ended up making changes along the way, which was easy to do. Also, if anything, Rob at encore was after us to make sure we kept up our end (selecting song choices in a timely fashion etc)... I'll admit I am a procrastinator lol. We had a half cultural wedding and his team were accommodating with the choice of music. Our master of ceremonies (Sam) provided by the company did a wonderful job appeasing a stressed bride, handling the introductions for speeches etc, and revving up the crowd. The team members provided to run the photo booth were friendly and professional. Overall our experience was very positive. They provided many services in a professional fashion, are clearly experienced in what their role is, and had an infectious personality seeming as genuinely excited for our wedding as we were. I would recommend them to every and anyone who is planning on getting married. read more

Save yourself the headache! I'm working with a bride who was forced to reschedule her wedding reception due to Coronavirus. In order to change her date, Encore demanded she mail them a check for the balance and a letter requesting the change. She explained that she wasn't comfortable leaving the house to get stamps to mail the letter and would share the email from State of Michigan, which owns the venue, and pay the balance by credit card. They still demanded that it be mailed and wouldn't accommodate her if it wasn't. Given that the need to reschedule is clearly out of her hands, and that people have been asked to stay home to avoid the spread of the virus, you'd think they would be more understanding. read more

To all the future brides and grooms out there. I highly suggest encore event group for your entertainment needs. I truly believe that best dj makes a wedding fun and memorable if everyone is out on the dance floor the entire night. We had a lot of comments from our guests that they didn't have much pictures bc they were on the dance floor the entire night. Rob did not disappoint us by following all the instructions we gave him,also went above and beyond his duties to make sure everything was running smoothly. His crew kept checking on us if we have any concerns or request for songs to be played- I really appreciate it. We did the bundle with lights, photo booth and dj- it was all worth it. TL;DR Rob and Nicole are terrible at communication and customer service and do not respond to phone calls or emails in a timely manner. They do not care about you or your event once they have your money. Do not tell them you're unhappy with their service or else they'll make up excuses. They don't take responsibility for anything and don't apologize. On the surface, it appears EEG does great work, and I'm sure they do, but because we were not paying thousands of dollars, we had an experience contrary to the abundant 5 star ratings. We had a terrible DJ for our wedding and detailed our concerns to the owner, but our voice fell on deaf ears. Rob and Nicole at first were very nice and inviting and put on an impressive in-studio demonstration as to what we would be getting if we chose them - we signed up on the spot. That was the extent of our pleasant interactions with them. We spoke to our DJ, Todd, on the phone the week of our wedding and gave him details. He messed up the timing of our grand entrance after we timestamped it out and discussed it with him multiple times. For the bride and groom's first dance, he forgot our last name saying "he lost that page". Whereas, Rob responded to this point saying "you might have mistakenly thought he forgot your last name". The video does not lie. Throughout the night, our guests asked where we found this guy and if he was drunk. Doesn't speak to the "5 Star Reviews" you read about. Embarrassing. Todd displayed no energy and did nothing to engage the audience. When brought up, Rob responded saying, "Todd was professional and poised however he was not instructed by you to make announcements and get guests out of their seats." Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I had to hold his hand the entire night. Apparently, we didn't get the "Self-Motivated DJ Package". EEG states on their site, "We care about the success of your event as much as you," which is a load of garbage. They did not care about any of our concerns prior to or after our wedding. But hey, at least he showed up and played the songs we wanted, right? I could have done that myself using my phone. Throughout our time with EEG, they have been near impossible to get a hold of. Days turned into weeks while waiting for an email response. Evenings went by without the promised phone call. Rob and Nicole showed up an hour late to our meeting and all the while we were talking to Rob, he was on his phone the whole time. Overall I'm immensely upset with Rob, Nicole, and Todd. Their website states 7 core values that they simple do not follow. Once they have your deposit, they do not care about you or what you want. Unless you're paying $5k+, they don't want to be bothered with you, which is sad. Their communication is the worst I've ever experienced dealing with a service and when you find faults with them, they will become defensive and create elaborate lies in a futile attempt to spin the truth. Rob and Nicole were not at our event, yet they spoke like they were and every mishap was our fault or misinterpretation. They are very unprofessional when it comes to customer service and cannot handle criticism. I cannot stress enough how awful of an experience it was to work with them. Our wedding was still a blast but it was in no way, shape, or form attributed to or enhanced by the services provided by Encore Event Group or their employees. I won't be surprised if they take down my review because they don't like the truth. read more

Encore entertainment helped make my Woodstock themed, 50th Birthday Bash a huge success. I choose them because I knew they would help make my party an event enjoyed and remembered by all as they did my daughter's wedding reception last year. I couldn't ask for a better DJ than Rob Reno and his top notch photo booth attendants Inga and Nathan were a bonus to the top notch service i already knew I'd have. I wish I could host a party every year just to party with the gang at Encore. read more

*UPDATE: Rob did call us a month after our wedding to apologize, but not until we sent video proof of a mistake that our DJ made. Rob agreed that if he lied about that, he probably lied about other things we said happened. He was apologetic and insisted on sending us $250, which we will accept now that he actually listened to us and our account of what happened. We do not doubt that this company does great work - we just happened to have a bad experience with a bad DJ.* This company has excellent reviews, and after meeting them initially, we understood why. They do in-studio demonstrations, they show videos and examples of past events, and they seem genuinely great at first. We had a constellation/galaxy themed wedding - we wanted the starry sky lighting, and Encore Event Group was one of the only companies that we could find who had it. The lighting was great. However, that is about the only part of our experience that was good. Our DJ was a joke. He was rude to guests, he ignored (or got incorrect) a majority of our simple requests (song placement, shortening a formal song/dance, entrance timing, bridal party last names, etc.), he forgot our last name as we were being introduced for our first dance, and he did NOT do one thing to get our crowd pumped up and out of their seats - once the dance floor was open, he simply played the songs on our request form and we did not hear his voice again until he announced last call (this is major, seeing as EEG will tell you over and over again that they ARE the entertainment for your event, and not to worry about a thing - afterwards, we were told that we should have instructed the DJ to be more interactive). I could go on and on, but it is my feeling that even 2-3 of those items is enough to express dissatisfaction. We reached out to the owners of the company following our event (requesting a refund) and at first they were very nice and understanding. The second call did not go well. They forgot our meeting time (that they set up), and they were extremely defensive and would not listen to us at all. They called us "confrontational" - we were upset because we waited over an hour for them to call us at their scheduled time, and we finally got in contact with them, only to hear that they didn't recall setting up the meeting. No apology. We were told that we were mistaken about things that we know happened, and essentially this company called us and our guests liars. Please keep in mind that neither of the owners were actually at our event. Overall, their reactions to our concerns made our experience ten times worse. Over the course of our 15 month engagement, this company was hard to get in contact with, they were late to meetings (they usually did call ahead to say this), and at one meeting, the owner texted on his phone the whole time I was speaking to him. We should have taken these as red flags. They did offer us a small refund ("as a courtesy"), which we ended up declining. Reading other negative reviews about this company on other sites, I have seen that the owners respond with "their side". Again, neither of them were at our event, and they have repeatedly told us we are wrong or mistaken about things that we witnessed first hand. I would not do business with this company again, nor would I ever recommend them to anyone. read more

From a high energy DJ who also provided announcements and had a great playlist that kept everyone on the dancefloor, to beautiful decorations including drapery, pedestals, and linens, to helping us organize, plan and execute everything! Encore Event did an AMAZING job - not only did they provide the music but they also provided our photo booth and uplighting - which made the hall even more spectacular! The music selection was just what we were looking for our wedding! And Rob surprised us for the Filipino Dollar Dance - when all the song selections were from OPM artists - it was perfect and truly made our wedding extra special! Thank you Encore Event for all your hard work and also for double checking with me with some of the music requests, it just goes to show that you're there to make sure that we are happy with the music choices :D read more

Do Not Use This Vendor. Use ANY other vendor as long as you do not use Encore Event Group. Rob is a hot head that does not listen to issues or concerns and is Not interested in your happiness with their services. I have attached pictures of what we contracted for and what we actually got. Clearly, there is a HUGE Difference and Rob from Encore Event Group was completely disinterested in making the situation right; and completely bent on being belligerent and rude to me as I tried to explain what we were unhappy about, giving me no real opportunity to plead our case. From the pictures I attached, the purple one is from THEIR website and the other is the product that we actually got. The one we got looks like an albino Halloween Spider Decoration instead of the billowy and sweeping example from the choices on the Encore Event Group website. The Encore Event Group asked for the room for our event to be opened at 10 am, which we did. The group never showed up until 1pm to start on our room...even after our planner had placed 9...that's right, NINE....calls to them, all of which went unanswered. Because they got such a late start, we were scrambling to entertain our 150 guests in the lobby of our venue until the representative from Encore Event Group finished her task. I beg of you, whoever may be reading this....Do not use this company for your once in a lifetime event. read more

Encore Event Group was the most amazing company through out the whole wedding process. We booked them 1 year ahead of time, and they were so patient and understanding! Let us make installments and made our wedding day everything we hoped for. We had to have our wedding at a K of C because of us having to pay for it ourselves and they draped and up lighted the whole place and made it look like a COMPLETELY different venue. Kept the dance floor full and full of energy. Nothing but excellent things to say about this company. read more

If you are looking for a DJ, you need look no further than Encore Event Group. Leading up to the event, Rob and Nikki were unbelievably helpful and relieved much of my stress with their timely follow-up, well-designed website (where you can add ceremony/event details at your own pace up until the day of your event, request songs, and communicate with the team), and friendly, professional attitudes. Most importantly, Sam Darish, our wedding DJ, was absolutely phenomenal. We had happened to see him at a friend's wedding in June after having already booked EEG and were extremely impressed--the music was awesome, the atmosphere he created was perfect, and everyone had a great time. My husband and I requested him for our wedding and could not have been happier with his work. He orchestrated everything flawlessly, was attentive to our needs (e.g. "is everything okay so far," "is there anything you want me to change or have changed for you," "can I get you anything?"), and even graciously stepped out onto the dance floor at my request to teach our guests a line dance no one could get right! The compliments have yet to stop about how great the wedding was, and we have Sam, Rob, Nikki, and the rest of EEG to thank for that.
