    I looked forward to a great experience and was met with the complete opposite. My event planner…read moreattempted, for 3 whole days, to place an order to reserve chairs for my event but every time she was told an invoice would be sent over, it was not...until the third day. On the third day, she finally received an invoice and paid immediately. A week later, my event planner reached out to retrieve details for the pick up, and was told she could not retrieve the chairs because she never signed the contract (a contract that was never sent). While my event planner was trying to remedy the situation over the phone with the owner (Iva), I listened to Iva be extremely rude and dismissive even while my event planner was going out of her way to be understanding of a mistake that had nothing to do with her. To add insult to injury, the owner repeatedly made racist remarks including "this is why I never do work with your type of people," and cancelled our rental order. When we requested a refund, we were told it would be mailed, though the original invoice was paid online. Eventually, we were told we could come pick up the check instead. Once my event planner picked up the check and returned to her car, she realized it was short $10. Instead of the owner simply writing a new check for the correct amount, she told my event planner that they were now closed (which they weren't). My event planner stated she'd be back tomorrow when they open to retrieve the new check, and the owner stated "well I'll be here with my gun when you come back." Are you serious? My event planner is reputable, experienced, and conducted herself in the highest regard, and was met with rude, racist, reprehensible behavior from a "business owner." 10/10 would not recommend.

They just kept saying everything we said was perfect and would look good. Iva was the first one to say that our ideas would not look good in the big picture. If you are planning a wedding or any event you understand it is hard to think what everything is going to look like when it comes together, especially when you have multiple vendors. Iva was able to take our pictures and our ideas and bring them to life. We left Affairs to Remember so happy and with a sense of relief that everything would look exactly how we wanted it. side note: Iva took it upon herself to contact other vendors and set up times to ensure that everything would be done in plenty of time.

My now husband said that Dalia was great and that he was grateful that she helped take the stress out of our special day. Side note, my husband initially didn't think we needed a wedding planner because I'm "really organized." After the wedding, he saw why getting a wedding planner was absolutely necessary, even for an organized bride like me. If you're on the fence about getting a wedding planner, GO WITH DALIA! You will not regret it. Hiring her will give you peace of mind on one of the most important days of your life and reduce your wedding-related stress.

To start with: I was hooked on Debbie during our first conversations. Unlike other wedding planners I spoke with, she did not immediately push me on her packages and get me to sign a contract. Instead she spent two hours on the phone with me listening to our day and the issues we had run into so far planning. She immediately jumped in and worked with me trying to find solutions to these initial problems. I actually felt like she cared about our day and was going to work hard to make it perfect. That's when we chose her and over the year we planned together, we never regretted the decision. My husband and I had a complicated wedding day. We had 200 guests and had two ceremonies (Hindu and Christian) at two locations with a luncheon and evening reception. All in one day! It was logistically very complicated. In addition, Debbie had never planned an Indian wedding (which she was up front about during our initial conversations). While we definitely needed to both do our homework throughout the year, Debbie did an amazing job all year researching Hindu traditions and actually coming to us with ideas for vendors. She is unbelievably organized and meticulous which is definitely why our crazy day went so perfectly. We weren't sure if we could truly pull off our tight timeframe for the day but we did almost to the minute! Our guests definitely noticed how smooth the whole day was and appreciated it! We have received so many compliments about our wedding day from both of our families and friends. We were able to honor both sides and traditions and make the long day fun for them. Much of this success is due to Debbie. Debbie is also just truly a pleasure to work with. Her husband, Mike, and her are just "good people" that make it fun to spend hours throughout the year on the phone discussing what can be mundane details of a wedding day, checking out vendors, etc. She led us repeatedly to vendors that were similar - she tried to use smaller and locally owned vendors when possible. We were so happy with everyone she introduced us to and loved supporting local. One of the most telling signs of what Debbie meant to me is probably how I felt that week before the wedding. While I had some stress with our visitors and some private events we were hosting during the week with family and friends, I had NO stress about the wedding day itself. I had total faith that Debbie and her team would be on top of all the details. When my mom expressed a worry about how she'd know when this or that was happening on the day, I said "don't worry! listen to Debbie!" It's wonderful to NOT focus on all those details and last minute challenges of wedding planning, but rather to be able to focus on the excitement of marrying the love of your life and celebrating with family and friends. Debbie was the only vendor that I used who was able to work around the time difference and the whole planning process was seamless. We used Debbie for Day of Planning, as well as having her assist us with the rehearsal the night before. We had several phone calls in the months leading up to the event. It was so helpful that she always had a list of things that I needed to accomplish before our next call. I had so many other things going on it was difficult to stay on task. Debbie took the time to meet with me and my family during one trip to Michigan and was able to meet with me again when I returned three weeks before. She was so kind to all of my family members, after our first meeting they all commented on how organized she was. In the weeks leading up to the wedding Debbie offered her assistance with all the last minute details, she even offered to help me out if my family was starting to drive me nuts. Before the events she confirmed all vendor appointments and even worked out a few kinks we had in the scheduling. I was able to drop all of the little details for the wedding to her in advance so I would not have to worry about the little things like table numbers and seating charts. The day of our wedding Debbie and her team were so helpful, everything was seamless, she took charge of the ceremony, because the venue did not have an onsite coordinator. I did not have to worry about a thing. She even handled a little meltdown by my aunt. I do not think our wedding would have turned out so amazing without her. I would recommend her to everyone looking to have a day of coordinator. She will really put your mind at ease. You cannot put a price on the services she provides. It is worth every penny.

Do I start with the rude and outright mean employees who talk and laugh about their customers in front of other customers and add extra charges when they give you a "discount" on something. Or, the outright mean and disrespectful owner who said (and this is exactly what he said) "I'm beginning to think you're out of your mind!" Yes, this is coming from the owner to me, a customer. We spent nearly $1,000 here and rented chairs, canopy and tables for a wedding. When we went there, we got a quote from Jerry (female, who is suppose to be the manager). We asked if she can give us a break since we were spending so much money there and she knocked off 50 cent per chair and acted like she was giving us the world. They didn't have pictures of the canopy except for a picture that was one of the desks and Jerry pointed to the type of canopy we would get. So they have nothing to show you when it comes to the tents/canopies. They referred us to their website, which is terrible to begin with. We went ahead and paid for everything upfront because they claimed that since the party is in the next few days, they needed all the money upfront. I learned later that this is a lie and this is part of their scam and they took advantage of us because they knew we were desperate to get the material we needed. After we got home, we looked at the service agreement and noticed that the delivery charge was $75 and we live less than 2 miles away from this place. I then called and spoke with the person who answered the phone and just asked how much delivery was, she asked for my zip and I gave it to her, she indicated that it's $35. I then asked if it was $35 flat rate no matter how much you order and she said yes; further proceeded to tell me "if you order $100 or $2000, it's a flat rate of $35." So come to find out, Jerry gave us discount on the chairs and turned around and made up for it but doubling the price of delivery. This is how evil and backstabbing this place is!! The day before the wedding, they came to set up the canopy only. After it was set up, I went to look at it and noticed huge muddy footprints on the roof of the canopy. The canopy was disgusting; it looked like they rolled it through dirt. Even one of the guys who was helping in the setup agreed that it was dirty and was very apologetic (at last 1 honorable human being that works for a horrible horrible company). Also, the canopy was not the same one that Jerry showed us in the picture. I called the place and asked to speak to the manager, she conveniently wasn't there. Then I demanded to speak to someone immediately to remedy the situation and I asked for the owner. They took my name and number down and would have the manager or owner call me. The owner called me the next day, that's right people, he called me the next day.. the day of the wedding. I complained about the filthy canopy and asked him to replace it asap. He refused outright!! He refused to budge on anything and as a matter of fact told me that I was bothering him and his employees. The owner did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to please his customer. In fact, he was outright disrespectful and condescending. He told me that if I wanted a different canopy that I would have to pay for it and that the money I've already spent on the canopy that was delivered would not be applied. Basically, I would pay for 2 canopies but only have 1. And, on top of it, charge me for delivery of another canopy. WHAT!!!!! I couldn't believe my ears!! I told him that I was going to report him to the better business bureau and he said he would counter my report. Two hours after an exhausting and unsuccessful plea to get a replacement canopy, 6 guys from the company came with cleaning material and a ladder, I didn't know if I should cry or laugh, I couldn't believe this was happening!!! The owner sent 6 employees over to clean the canopy!! This is how he decided to settle the situation. In the meantime, the catering company arrives and the guys are cleaning the canopy. The catering company had to wait 40 minutes before they can set anything up since the guys were still cleaning. When the guys finished cleaning it, it didn't look that much different. The mud footprints were there, just not as bold. The area under the canopy smelled of chemicals, it was HORRIBLE and the catering company was hesitant at this point to set up anything until the odor went away. The owner and the employees should be ashamed of themselves for the lies and for cheating their customers. Do not trust these people with ANY of your events! If they do this to someone on their wedding, imagine what they can do if it's not a wedding. They are unsympathetic and have all been trained in the proper art of deceiving their customers! Shame on you! I hope you can sleep well at night knowing you lie and cheat people who work hard and long hours to make a living!

I had to call the police and have the police come with me because they were threatening me over the phone that if I ever stepped foot there I would need to watch my back.
