While nothing about French drains or foundation repair is fun, exciting or cheap; we knew we had to get some of this work done to our home due to some minor flooding/cracks in the foundation. After doing some research and asking for bids, we decided to work with FRS since we knew they would do a thorough job and offer a nice warranty for their work. Not to mention how everyone we worked with was super helpful and friendly and they explained lots of things to us in ways that we could understand. When you are going to spend $$$ on something as massive as a french drain and foundation repair, you really want to make sure you have some of the best people to work with and FRS was it for us. Earlier this week, we had Dylan and Sam out at the house so they could work on the side to help us with drainage and repairing the foundation. I really have no idea how this is done, but they managed to do it in just under 3 days and took great care of the yard and our neighbors yard while they were working so they did not make a mess or damage anything. Knowing that these giant house repairs have been completed, I know that our house will be taken care of we won't be experiencing any more damage. I know they will come out again in the future to just check in to make sure everything is still working correctly and I feel secure knowing they will take care of anything thanks to the warranty they offer on their work.

I decided on high and Dry to perform some long overdue crack repairs in my basement. Their pricing was very fair and when the crew arrived to do the work they were friendly, polite and capable. The work was done well and they left the work areas neat and clean, no mess or debris left behind. Weeks later a heavy rain revealed some leakage behind a couple electrical receptacles I had thought were too much trouble to remove and hoped we could get away with not sealing the cracks behind them. When I called them back they were on it immediately and scheduled a follow-up visit to address the leaks. I was able to remove the electrical boxes to give them access and found another 4 feet of cracks besides. They arrived right on time, repaired both the hidden and the newfound cracks and did it all at no charge, even though it was no fault of theirs. I am truly impressed with the quality of their people and their work. I could not recommend High and Dry any more highly.

Ask Dee G. who called who first. Secondly, why didn't you submit the photos to your insurance company? They were sent to you by us. You had them, why didn't you submit them? After all it is your claim. Thirdly, the rental contract states that you agree to be financially responsible for any and all damages. This is clearly breach of contract. Finally, your insurance representative stated that they will not issue our company a check for damages because you told them we kept your deposit, which the deposit was not enough to cover the damages. They only issue a check to you, therefore, it seems as if you are collecting and not paying for the damages caused by your employee. Wouldn't it be better business practice to make it right with a supplier than have this on your reputaion? This company rented equipment for a job they had at a local Wal Mart in Findlay, Ohio. They damaged the equipment and are refusing to pay the remaining balance of $680.35. Just a warning to other equipment rentals across the states.

Extra Long Post Warning:…read more I chose Stratum for my window well drainage because they have, across the board, glowing reviews. I mean glowing. By and large, those reviews are probably well earned. Here's my experience... I first met with a salesman named Matt. Matt is great. He definitely gave me a bit of a hard sell, but I get it. But I made my own decision in the end. I will say that never have I been walked through a process with as much care and detail as Matt provided. He is lovely. If anything, I would say he doesn't have to sell quite so hard. I was scheduled for a one-day job on June 20. On June 19, the head construction guy (don't remember his name, let's call him Rick) called me to say that if I really, really insisted on them coming the next day, he would make it work, but they really couldn't because they were behind. It was a bit of a strange guilt trip, but whatever. Ohhhhkay, fine. When can you schedule me?, I asked. Rick tells me, "Well, without looking at my calendar closely I can give you July 3." I thought 2 weeks was kind of an extensive delay but I haven't been busy this summer so I said okay. (I was hesitant about taking the day right before a holiday weekend, but I was assured it was a one-day job.) So July 3 arrives. Keep in mind that Matt has been in contact this whole time, being sure I was kept in the loop. On the morning of July 3, a crew arrives and the crew leader, (maybe his name was Keith?) went over the work. But! The paperwork was missing a key part--a new window well and window well cover, which was part of my bid. I explained that to Keith and he said they will make it work. I left to grab coffee and when I returned, an older guy was there to tell me that they wouldn't be able to do the window well and cover because it's not in the contract and they don't have the time. I think this guy is Rick, the one who has rescheduled me from June 20. "I'm trying to get my guys out early because of the holiday," he says. He also takes me down to my basement, where the work is happening, and says he's sure he'll be back again soon because I need more drainage than just what they're doing today. I wanna pause here and talk about gender. It was clear that Rick didn't totally respect me because I'm a single woman living on my own. He talked down to me terribly. I hate saying this because everyone else was great. And the guilt!! I totally get the desire to have your employees done early before a holiday, but the new well and cover were part of the contract and my work was already been delayed two weeks. While Rick and I were trying to figure this out, Keith walked up at that point and informed Rick that Matt had confirmed I had paid for the well and cover. At this point, I felt incredibly awkward because it seems like there was some kind of miscommunication I wasn't part of. Please know that most of this process was really positive. Keith was wonderful. A born leader. He was kind, competent, and cleaned the basement area so well. The crew had a really good rapport with each other. And I honestly can't say enough good about Matt. Would I choose them again? Maybe. Matt is truly awesome, and everyone other than Rick was absolutely fantastic. I mean, these guys were teaching each other stuff and so supportive. They were really sweet about my cat and just so professional. Oh! And for those interested in cost. I had one window well drain installed, connected to one sump pump. The downpayment was $1400 and the remainder was $3400.

Received text messages and emails confirming date and time for appointment. They even included picture and name of employee that would be providing the estimate. One day prior to appointment, I continued to receive updates and reminders of the pending appointment. Day of appointment, the 19th at 0800, I received a phone call stating the technician or estimator would not be responding due to "family issues". COMPLETLEY UNDERSTAND LIFE HAPPENS. Sometimes these issues arise instantly and can't be avoided. They offered to reschedule the appointment. I gladly accepted and rescheduled. Days goes by leading up to the new scheduled date for the estimate. I receive text messages as well as emails confirming the appointment as reminders. This is very convenient and helpful. One day prior to the new scheduled date, I received text and email confirming the date and time. Well, date of the new appointment, long and behold, at 0737 am I receive a phone call and text from the "manager" stating the estimator will not be making to the new appointment due family/personal complications. This company should have other employees to complete their expectations and scheduled appointments. At the very least, I believe they should have informed customers the day before knowing that this estimator needed to be with his family or had demands from his personal life that may conflict with his scheduled appointment. Or have a contingent plan in case of. Understanding life sometimes throws a curve ball at you and are unexpected. BUT.....I have hesitations with entering into a contract with a company. I hope the employee and family are well but I will NOT be doing business with this company.

We selected Permajack of St. Louis both because we decided that their solution and methods seemed preferable and because their bid was reasonable ... not the lowest but not outlandish. Everything about dealing with them was professional. Calls were returned promptly. Questions answered quickly. The project was completed as promised and on time. The crew was respectful of our home and property and did everything they could to mitigate the noise and inconvenience. They even went so far as to hook up the washer and dryer when they were done, without being asked, after we expressed some concern about being able to use them while the cement cured. When the crew left, the work area was spotless and the whole process had been much less painful than we expected. I would absolutely recommend Permajack of St. Louis.

Their teams did an excellent job not only on my basement, but you couldn't even tell that they had to dig large holes in my front yard to anchor my foundation wall. The lawn was repaired so well I could barely tell where they dug. All of their staff were professional, on time, and cleaned up when the job was complete. We are very happy with their work.

They blamed everything but themselves as to why it looked like crap. I had to put a pebble stone surface on top of the concrete work Feth Construction did at a cost of $2600. All I wanted was a concrete patio, now I have a nicer looking patio but it needs to be resealed every two or three years and the cost to do this is not cheap! Check out the BBB too, last time I looked Feth Construction was no longer a member and had a F rating. Luckily Feth only got $1600 out of me instead of the $3200 we agreed at. Their work was the equivalent of a person getting a scab on their arm, to hide it, you cover it up with a band aid. We had to hide their work with the pebble stone.
