Dr Beck's Second Opinion…read more.. Just last week, I took a friend to another doctor (not Dr Beck). He said her eyes have been changing every year since she has been seeing him back in the late 90's. But, there appeared to be a problem. She has said she can not see well even with the glasses prescribed just last year. Then after further questioning, she indicated she has not seen well for a long time. And she said that her prescription changes each year and requires new glasses. So I asked to see her past prescriptions. Each prescription was different. But not progressively worse as one would expect with progressive eye problems. For those of you with astigmatism, the Axis reading changed along with other readings which would show back and forth between her eyes getting better, then reversing to getting worse. Not what you would expect. Time for a second opinion! Came here to Dr Beck. Went today for the second opinion. She explained her vision as everyone does and then continued with the exam. He photographed the inside of her eyes, continued with all the normal tests, read her glasses to see the prescription as made by the manufacturer and then proceeded with her prescription exam. Here are the results. 1. Concern about the varied prior to present prescriptions. 2. Current prescription from 4 days ago is wrong. 3. Current glasses from a year ago do not match the prescription from when they were prescribed. 4. Bifocals were prescribed at the wrong strength. 5. The axis for the astigmatism was wrong resulting in blurred vision even with the glasses. While a lot of this sounds to be a responsibility of the patient, let me ask a simple question. If you put your trust in a doctor for twenty years, you would expect that doctor to provide you with the best possible care? Well. I believe that doctor has provided his best. Unfortunately, his "best" isn't good enough. Now the reason for this review. As we told the first doctors nurses the problem she was experiencing, they said that a lot of his patient complain about the same thing. After the exam, the changes did not relate to what she expressed. There appears to be a systemic problem here. Be willing to get a second opinion. My friend will now see better than she has in 20 years because she went to see Dr Beck for a Second Opinion. Thank you Dr Beck.

Tried ordering glasses on the website pair because I lost my old pair and needed new ones for cheap and didn't have my prescription on me. I'm in fort wayne currently with my newborn in the NICU so going home to search for it was not an option, so the website said they could contact the office for it. I quickly got an email saying that the office said I wasn't a patient of theirs. Of all things that bother me, it's lying. There's no excuse for it. So why they did, I don't know, but I had to call them to straighten it out. And oh my lord what a headache. The woman was refusing to simply read a few numbers out loud on the phone. Talk about laziness! I even explained that, no, I can not come in and physically pick up my prescription, and that I didn't need a new prescription or anything physical, all I needed was a few numbers read out loud to me. It was that simple! But she wanted to give me attitude and refuse to do the most simple task that I could have possibly asked for. Thankfully a family member near by is able to stop in, but they're just going to do what I asked for in the beginning, call me and read out loud numbers on a paper. I think it's insanely childish and petty to first of all lie, and then secondly get an attitude just because they were called out on it, and then refuse a simple task, aka their job, because they're mad. They claimed it was illegal which is such a reach, I would have been glad to provide any sort of identifying information needed, but the entire conversation she had an attitude! I always thought they were a bit unpleasant coming in to pick things up but this really solidified my opinion of them. It's a shame because again like I said the doctors there are great, but the receptionists really ruin it!

Unfortunately it seems to be a running theme. Attempted to contact call center to have concerns addressed. Call center representative, was on it. Advised she wasnt sure in regards to the few question i presented and offered assistance to local office. Advised rep on situation that just took place at the marion location. Was transfered to Manger to have concerns addressed and hopefully questions answered- so that a child could get seen and have their glasses from thebappo8ntment that was scheduled for this day 12.16.25. Foolish to think anything positive, clerification , or answeres to prevalent questions would come from speaking to someone from the location that issues started from. But I still tried to no avail, but speaking on very rude , not helpful, no information or explanation having , nasty disposition, interaction with the 1st person of contact to this business. A very lack luster phone interaction with manager Nicky. Better luck to others who seek care at the marion office. This location and the staff at the front desk along with manager Nicky, didn't answered any prevelny needed question, offer a resolutions or resolve. Will seek another locations that shows they care about the people who they interact with and people who they provide care to. Can't speak on care from doctors and opticians. Didn't get to that point. However it makes one questions if the doctors and opticians are okay with the lack of respect , the rudeness, misinformation or lack of information customers and patrions are given. Why would the care be different from the doctors and opticians there? Will definitely make sure to advised others to get to better care from a higher qualified team of workers who are caring, concerned for their customers, and want to offer the upmost quality of care and information respectfully to all whom enter the establishment. So sad that this is what this small town is left to deal with. I'd suggest going elsewhere, where you're met with a professional, respectful staff who shows the patorns dignity , compassion, kindness, and care. From start to finish. Because poor customer interaction from managers and staff is all I've experienced. Came with questions & excited about this child's journey to see clearly. Left feeling very demoralized , and disheartened. Would not recommend based on the very impact-full short dealing and interaction from this locations. I'm sure the lady at the front desk wouldn't want any one to treat her nore her family in the ways she interacted with us. Do better! All staff is heald accountable for bad and good interactions. One shouldn't being the in custome service industry if unwilling to assist. Now if unable that's another issue. But that wasn't not the case today with this lady and "manager".
