Stay away from this clinic if you value your wallet, your health, and your sanity. As I write this review, I realize it might sound exaggerated, but I can assure you it's not. This experience was the most frustrating, uncomfortable, and shocking of my life. I visited the Midwest Express clinic for a painful back injury. At the time of the injury, my family doctor was out of town, necessitating the visit to an immediate care clinic. While meeting with the care provider (I'm not certain it was a physician) I felt extremely uncomfortable. I was told that the only method used to treat my 7/10 pain was a trigger point injection. I shared with the provider that I did not want an injection for a number of personal & medically-based reasons. The provider continually insisted that he would only treat me with this method, even stating (verbatim) "... unless you were expecting Vicodin?" Was he insinuating I was a drug seeker because I did not want an injection? I was quite relieved that I had declined the injection when the care provider went on to incorrectly explain how my nervous system worked. It made me quite uneasy that a care provider would incorrectly explain rudimentary physiology. After once again refusing the injection, he sternly said "One second" and abruptly left the room. He never returned, never provided any care instructions, or any other treatment recommendations! It was astounding. Instead, the medical assistant returned and said we were finished. Again, no paperwork, no instructions for ice, OTC pain relief... Nothing. I cannot explain how bullied I felt. After this visit, I contacted my physician's office and visited his colleague. He treated me for my pain (without an injection, or vicodin) and explained that this clinic likely aims to prescribe quick, expensive, and sometimes unnecessary treatments. Upon receiving the bill, I realized just how correct he was! Not only was I charged for the exam (as expected) but also $70 for a pulse oximetry reading (for low back pain with no respiratory issues) equaling to a total approaching $300. read more

Medical staff is always great! Dr. Palumbo is our primary and we love her! Everyone else is terrific as well. Sometimes the wait is longer than the usual 15 minutes, but I always figure that someone needs more care than I do at the time. The receptionist is anything but informed. I went there 5 months back and I asked about the cost. She said it's $100. I asked would it be cheaper to pay cash or go through insurance. They make you give a credit card even if you have insurance and they charge any balance that insurance doesn't cover to the credit card, which is kept "on file" for a year. You cannot bypass this as it's "their policy." If I wasn't so sick, I would have left and gone somewhere else. I will not be back. read more

I have taken my 17 year old son here twice. Once for pink eye and the other time was tonsilitis. I really do recommend them! The staff is very kind. We were taken very quickly. I did like the two doctors I saw very much. Explained things thoroughly, we walked out with a RX and an appointment for follow up. I feel like it is undiscovered treasure at this point I hope they don't get too popular because I like the ability to walk-in and not have to wait long. Nurse and nurse practitioner were great. Don't bother going here. I had an appointment at 6:10 pm and there were 2 people already in the waiting room. 30 mins later I was seen by a person who took my weight and blood pressure. Was asked a few questions and why I was here. This is a follow-up appointment from 3 days prior. Obviously the notes they took 3 days ago didn't mention anything about why I had come in the first time. After another 30 minutes without seeing a doctor, I asked for my co pay back and left. I asked why if I had an appointment, how come it took so long? Midwest clinic was a clean, fast and professional clinic. They took me in immediately. The nurse was friendly and thorough. She did my lab work speedily and efficient. I did not feel rushed or alienated because this wasn't my original doctor. The clinic was also cost effective and had my medication right in facility for half the cost. Don't go here. They lie to your face and set up their testing to take advantage of their patients during a pandemic. It is despicable. They made me agree to a phone call in order to get my covid results because they're apparently the only place in the country that can't just give you your results online. I specifically asked if they charge for giving the results this way, because if so I am not going to accept, and they said no multiple times. Low and behold, they charged me $40 after insurance for a 20 second phone call they are counting as a full doctors visit to tell me I'm negative. Dr.Linda Palumbo has been my primary physician for removing some warts on my hands. She was trying to bring me 3 sessions to remove 10 little warts but I could hardly convince her to take care of me. A day after I noticed she burnt two spots and I gave them a call but unfortunately thry didn't answer me correctly and they said : it's going away in a couple of days. It has been a fee months I still have the burning lack on my hands and now tgey send me a bill to pay for burning my hands. I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone and for sure not terrible Linda Palumbo. I'm just sorry for them that thry don't care about their patients. read more

The last two times, they didn't provide me with my results over email when I signed the release form. They lied to me twice saying they had emailed me the results. The service is prompt and friendly, my wait was no more than 15 minutes. However the physician ultimately diagnosed me with the common cold (and he wrote off some of my serious symptoms). Yes, the place may be clean and organized. It's clean and nice location and convenient that my insurance takes this place, however the service is awfully slow. I waited almost over an hour to see a doctor who made me feel like she was rushing me out and not being attentive. When I called to set up the appointment I had said it was for IUD check. I tell the doctor that because she asked what I was there for to clarify, and she tells me "I don't know how to do that, the nurse practitioner does". I haven't been able to see a doctor in 6 months due to my insurance therefore having no meds. I tell the doctor that and I get a "I can't do all this at once". Ok, obviously I understand that. However she didn't even acknowledge my other concerns at hand when she finished my first concern! Just rushed me out. Saw the Nurse Practitioner, Jessica. Jessica was extremely knowledgeable and empathetic. She took the time to get my full medical history and ask questions pertaining to the onset of my symptoms in order to prescribe me a medication to get me on the road to feeling better. She was able to answer all of my questions and had a great sense of humor about her as well, which put me at ease. I was surprised to receive a phone call from Jessica a few days after my visit inquiring as to if I was feeling any better. That shows me that she really cares about her patients well-being. They never notified me of my bloodwork results coming in and I called so I can have the doctor read me my results over phone and I called FOUR times and they kept pushing me off to the side. I spoke to Ayesha and she claimed she wrote down my information, but kept asking me the same questions regarding my callback number and fax number for my PCP. They claimed they sent over my bloodwork but my PCP never received the fax. They lie and they do not care about their patients! Took a nasty fall while trail running at Palos woods and gashed my knee. I knew it was going to require stitches....Found my way over to Midwest clinic and upon walking in was greeted promptly and given a fresh bandage while I waited. I was stitched up and given a tetanus shot (hadn't had one since high school entrance) and on my way in about an hr and a half. Went in for a sports physical for my 6 year old and waited 1hr and 15 minutes. People that came in after us and waited to go back for 10-15 minutes were brought back right after us and seen by the dr first. Horribly long wait for a 5 minute procedure. The office is unorganized! My kids and I had flu shots on October 1, 2018. Yes, that is right...over a year ago. I continue getting their bills from 2018 and today is October 15, 2019. It is supposed to be cover by the insurance. They started mailing the bill in April of 2019. Every month since April, they mail statement regarding flu shots from October 1, 2018. I took my husband to this clinic and i can tell you its waist of time and money. it cost us over 800$ and the nurse/ doctor i don't even know what to call her did not do her job. my husband was working on the car at home on May 25, 2015 and his finger got stuck so it got swished and it ripped open. We went to Midwest Express Clinic that was only place that was open besides the hospitals. she cleaned it supposedly and put medical glue instead of stitches (we asked for stitches, because the job that he works). next day my husband comes home with puss coming out and the glue was coming off the wound. so i had to clean it out the wound, medical tapeit and old fashion bandaging every morning and night. read more

I will NEVER go back to this place...ever. Went in to get a COVID test at their Chicago Lakeview location on a Friday. Needed my results in 10 days so I could travel and see my mother. First, they tried to "upsell" me on a tele-medicine appointment and I laughed out loud. The Med-Tech knew she was being shameless. Told them there was a global pandemic and now is not the time to try to squeeze money from people... Called them Monday for results...nothing, then called Tuesday....nothing...Everyone else in my family went to a different clinic on Saturday and were emailed the results in two days! Called MEC Tuesday night and they couldn't even find a record of my visit or my results!!!! UN-REAL. Then they called me back and found the results and said they had them for 4 days already. Then said they were emailing them to me...NOTHING. Then claimed their computers were slow. Then finally they had to scan the results and send to me but now I cannot use the results so I have to go in there and get a hard copy.
