We where lied to on the first call and was told we need to pay for more testing that wasn't necessary at all got a call from the manager and he ignored all my husbands concerns on the over charge and the mechanics. Midwest Autoworx is great! Driving through town one day, it happened that a truck I'd just bought used broke down at a local fast food drive-thru. Midwest Autoworx is who the tow company recommended, so there we went! I slept in the truck overnight, hoping Midwest would take the truck in for service as soon as they opened, and they did! The truck was fixed responsibly, at reasonable cost, and I was on the road by noon. Particularly impressive was the "Testing Results" section of the receipt I later read, where the diagnostic steps Midwest Autoworx took to determine the problem was detailed. With some shops you might wonder how they determined a particular do-hickey was the culprit, but not here. Midwest Autoworx took the necessary time to not only repair the problem, but to also tell you how they knew which do-hickey needed replacement. I can't begin to explain this company, being in a emergency situation my driver side tire started smoking, upon looking around I see the shop Midwest autoworkx open and I immediately pulled in asked the guy at the desk about coming out INSPECTING my vehicle which he does he informs us they going to pull it in to fully inspect.. while waiting he comes out and tells us that we can come to the back when I get to the back they done completely took every piece out and off my driver side front suspension, it was completely naked as if it was getting rebuilt. So he say that they are about to close and they shuttle can take me somewhere and they would finish trying to figure out what cause my tire to do that. I inform the man that I could have it towed elsewhere and he said being they have all the parts off I couldn't or they couldn't tow it anywhere so I said I come back next day, I called that morning around 8 am and he said he would call right back that it's still getting everything figured out he called back that afternoon and said shuttle was picking me up got up there and he said 1888.00 I said I didn't ask you to fix my vehicle. He said well the parts are already on there so it's gotta be paid. So I contacted my uncle he tried to pay for it they wouldn't let hi. And he had cash he said they don't take that amount in cash so he said he would email the receipt he did and my uncle old school he don't know about using credit cards and stuff so I couldn't pay that day so my friend called to talk to supervisor and she had said something about my truck even getting fixed and the guy cursed her told her it's bullshit and she asked to speak to supervisor and he said he was available to call back after one to make a long story short when I did speak to the supervisor and let him. Know about his employee he told me as well that when the call came to speak with him and I was told to call back later that he was standing right there.. I said so I call to speak to you your employee cursed me out and you let him do this.. okay so he tells me if I'm not there by the next day with the bill paid he was going to back date and charge me everyday it's been there. So In frantic moment I said I would sell it a guy went to buy my truck they still wouldn't he texted me and told me that they discussed that they ripped me off and they wouldn't give him my truck even though he too had the money and they was keeping my truck. I haven't been able to get these people to call me back yet about my truck and I'm very unhappy and I got a lawyer and he got every phone recording and text message. I've lost my job behind them doing this and now about to loose my home. These people is wrong and I'ma make sure i fight this to the end. I got a attorney that is willing to take this case for free matter fCt a couple of them have called me once I sent the messages and phone recordiv to them so yeah I think I'ma play hard ball just like they did me and my kids. The mechanics did good work but the company Charged an exorbitant amount for diagnostics. The cost to replace the distributor was $460 which would have been fair had this included the cost of finding out the problem. I brought the vehicle into them informing them that showed a bad sensor which is part of the distributor that they replaced they charge me a total of $380 in diagnostics just to find exactly the problem that the code reader showed. Charging such an extreme amount for diagnostics in addition to a high repair cost. This is a $130 part that takes one hour of shop time to install this was a extremely unreasonable pricing. read more

The team at Midwest Autoworx is great. Not only are they very knowledgable, they are great communicators! The work with me on my 1993 Subaru Wagon to keep it not just going, but going strong. If there is extended work they have to do, they have loaner cars available. Everyone takes time to talk through the work being done, including the owner coming out to give me a run through of the special work done for a part that can no longer be found (they tried, as did a good friend of mine in the parts business) I'm moving to another state and will be sad to lose them as my car caregivers! read more

I needed my oil changed. There was a advertisement in the Ad Sheet for a $20 oil change at Midwest Autoworx. The poor college student was sold. Called and made an appointment for the next day at 2:00 p.m. I was out by 2:30. What really impressed me about Midwest Autoworx was the service. Not only were the mechanics really nice, but they also didn't even try to sell me anything besides the premium oil! This was a nice change from Jiffy Lube, who would always try and get me to buy a new air filter or antifreeze or whatever. The mechanic servicing my car even recommended a friend of his to do some paint work for my car. Who would go to WalMart or Jiffy Lube when you could go to a local place like this? Next time you need an oil change, or any car work done, I'd definitely recommend Midwest Autoworx. read more

Worst experience ever .. it happened back in April long story short I took my car in for a repair the mechanic told me was covered by my warranty. The day after dropping off my car I got a phone call telling me my warranty did not cover it and that my car was already being worked on so I was basically being forced to come up with 335 dollars that I didn't have. I tried to come up with the money and was unsuccessful which led to Dylan texting me in all caps threatening to come and take the loner car from my home if I did not pay him the day he said the car was done. I have never in my life been treated like that at a place a business the only thing that was good about the experience is when I called to speak with the manager and he agreed to wait until I got paid. I recently visited Midwest Autoworx because I was having issues with my car battery. I chose them based on location (they are close to our house) and because they were so highly rated. The experience did not disappoint. First, I was able to make an appointment the same day I called. I was in and out in about 90 minutes. They did a free battery test to make sure that was really the issue, and the cost for a new battery and installation was very reasonable at less than $200. The customer service rep at the front desk kept me informed throughout the process, and was very clear when explaining the battery test results and the cost of the replacement. I was able to use their free WiFi while I waited, and they had coffee and a TV in the waiting room as well. My only complaint is that the waiting room smelled like cigarette smoke. Not overwhelming, but definitely noticeable. Other than that, the service, cost and wait time made this a very positive experience. read more

This review is NOT for the shop in Columbia it is for one in Boonville. If you want to spend a bunch of money for nothing this is the place to go. They wanted $400 for rear brakes for my car and said they had to order new headlights because they said they were "too dim to adjust". Really, I left there, went to another dealership and they adjusted my headlights with no problem. And yes, I know I need rear brakes however, I said "No than you" and walked out. Now here's the kicker, my boyfriend is not a mechanic nor has he ever worked for a mechanic, he just ordered brand new AC Delco brakes for $40.00 and can put them on in less than an hour. I also was curious to see how much LED headlights were so he checked prices on those as well.......$28......their quote to me......$90, AND those extremely high prices I was quoted, didn't even include the cost of labor. Stay away from this place people, unless you just happen to have extra money you didn't work your butt off for and want to give it away. I work very hard for my money and don't appreciate the people running this company trying to take advantage of me. read more

Great experience! I had a headlight out and called around a bit about prices; Midwest Autoworx had the best price by about $30. While I was waiting, the mechanic asked if I wanted new wiper blades as mine were broken and said they wouldn't even charge for labor, so of course I agreed. I then asked about getting my car realigned and it was about $230 cheaper than the place that told me my alignment was off in the first place. (I didn't get that service today, but I'll be back in the future.) I waited for my car for maybe 25 minutes (could've been a little less) and mentioned how quickly they had gotten the work done. The mechanic said it actually took much longer than usual, even though it really was very fast. Everyone was really nice and the prices were awesome! read more

Friend of mine took their car here and had it diagnosed. The shop didn't have the part needed for the repair and so had ordered it. They said the part would arrive a couple days after the original diagnostic and so my friend scheduled an appointment to come back and have it fixed a few days after the part would have arrived. So, the morning of the appointment my friend made the 45 minute commute only to learn the part wasn't there yet. They had to wait around for 3 hours until the truck that was supposed to deliver it arrived. There was no concern for my friend's wasted time which could have been prevented if they had just called my friend earlier that morning or the day before stating why the part hadn't arrived or that they should come in a littler later when the part hopefully will be delivered. No attempts to right this wrong was made either. Poor communication and poor customer service. She won't be returning and I suggest you look into other shops if you value communication and customer service. read more
