He recommended Santiam Heating &Sheet Metal having used them for both commercial and residential work. I got quotes from Santiam Heating &Sheet Metal and one other company. Both inspected my system and said it would not last much longer but that I use the existing duo until they died. Santiam quote was slightly higher of the two. After more than a year in fear of the system failing during a cold snap or a heat wave I decided to get it replaced. Based on my son's recommendation I hired SHSM. They were great to work with! They came when scheduled, they were friendly and respectful, and they were extremely careful not to make a mess. In fact the area was cleaner when they finished than when they started. The new system works like a charm. When there was a small problem they responded immediately and corrected the problem. The best part of my experience with them is that when I phoned them I was able to speak with a human every time!

They said several people had a similar issue with these systems and confirmed with Bosch that it was a faulty unit. It was 100+ degrees every day, so we needed someone fast. Lucky for us, we called Focus. They are a local company and were able to come over after hours for an additional fee. Within 2 hours, John was working on the heat pump. Not only was he a pleasant man to deal with, he was knowledgeable, showed me exactly what was wrong and what he was doing, and he did so quickly and efficiently. The office staff was great, too. About 3 months ago, I called them seeking repairs on my heat pump. I never talked with a real human being and was only able to leave them a voice message. Crickets, I never heard from them. Fast forward 3 months and my heat pump finally died, and I am in the process of getting bids to install a new system. It was a repeat of my first attempt to contact them, I never got a real person, but I did leave a voice message for them, again I left my name, number, and what I was trying to accomplish. Again, crickets. After 4 full days, 2 full business days (I called Friday morning and here we are after close of business the following Monday and still no call from them. Seeing how the heat pump is completely kaput, I cannot waste any more time waiting for them to reply. So yes, I will leave you alone now.
