I had a root canal and crown done at this clinic about 2 years ago, and it has been one of the worst dental experiences I have ever had. Even after all this time, I am still dealing with pain, sensitivity, pressure, and discomfort in the same tooth. This treatment has caused me a lot of stress and ongoing problems. In my personal experience, the work did not feel careful or professional enough, and I do not feel that my long-term health and comfort were properly prioritized. I trusted this clinic with my dental health, and I deeply regret it. I had a very bad experience here and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I went here a few months ago for the first time for a checkup because I didn't like the previous dentist. When I came, they took X-rays and the assistants were extremely nice to me. BUT, when the X-rays were taken, and the doctor came in, he said I needed 5 crowns!!!! WHATT!!! I left, went to another dentist, and the new dentist said I just needed 5 fillings. He did all 5 within 2 weeks, and fast forward months later to today, there's no pain, nothing. In conclusion, be careful with this dentist. They might try to break your teeth unnecessarily. I highly recommend getting a 2nd opinion if you feel the dentist is recommending you something you feel like you don't need. I didn't give this dentist a 1/5 because the staff seemed nice. read more

Nice dentists careful with there work the lobby is very clean and has a decent amount of seating. My only concern is sometimes they do take a while to call you in from the waiting room but there work is fast and it makes up for it. read more

Today I had an appointment i scheduled well over a week ago and they took it upon themselves to make up a rule and cancel for me, I asked for documentation where it states they have this cancellation policy. I have been going to this dentist's office since I was a child. I stuck it out when Dr. Weller retired and sold the business. Since that first sale, it has changed hands several times. This latest dental group and group of dentists that has taken over is shady. Just one instance is I was told my daughter needed 9 fillings, even though she has never had a cavity in her life. I didn't have a good feeling about the dentist's diagnosis. It's a good thing I trusted my gut and went to get a second opinion because another dentist examined her teeth and said they were perfect, not one cavity. What was Dr. Al and his team going to do? Drill into 9 healthy teeth? Needless to say, our family left this office and is seeing a new dentist. I only wish I had made the switch sooner. read more

After going through wisdom teeth extraction in November of 2024 I had to find a new place that insurance would be able to do a root canal along with other things and I'm so happy and glad I have found upon Midway Dental Group in El Cajon! Doctor Sanchez along with assistants such Leo and Nadeen and the whole team there are absolutely welcoming and are make sure you are taken care of!! Everyone from the front desk to the kind doctor that took care of me were very friendly and kept checking on me to make sure I was comfortable and doing alright. It was a total of 3 times that I have gone. I told them that epinephrine makes my heart race. Which is a known side effect. We tried it out. He numbed me up and waited for it to take effect. I started to feel light headed and my heart racing. The numbness went away within 5 min. Once he came back, I told him that it's not numb anymore. He said that it was normal to get nervous because of the needle. I told him that I have been having work done since a child and the needles don't scare me. I asked to have another type of anesthetic. He insisted on still using the epinephrine and I told him, that my body will just process it quickly, again. We used another anesthesia and it worked fine. I went back again, while I was already in my third pregnancy trimester for a tooth that needed a root canal but I put it off because of the pregnancy. I went in because a few days before, I bit into something hard and chip part of the tooth and started to cause discomfort. He was reluctant to do any xrays. And said he needed clearance from my OB first. Understandable. He did a cleaning and used the "drill" on the tooth that was chipped to "clean" it and caused an immense amount of pain. I jumped out of the chair and I was about to be on the edge of tears. Why would you drill into a tooth that already has an exposed cavity and it needs a root canal. I will never go back. read more

I am absolutely dissatisfied with this business. Dentist A. Al shaikhli admisinistered hardly any local anesthesia for all of my wisdom teeth removal and had me screaming for hours. To top it all of he prescribes me ibuprofen for pain relief and I was in pain screaming for hours until I went to an urgent car for more appropriate pain managemen. please do not go to this business at all costs. travel a few miles more it's worth it. never expirienced something like this in my life! read more
