"Michael" was released today and we've been anxious to see it. Decided to stop in on a last minute decision on an early Friday afternoon. We were going to wait until the crowds died down, but we had time today. We thought it was going to be packed because it was the release date, but it was in fact empty. The employee said we picked the sweet spot time to come, which was Friday mornings/early afternoon, when there's no one! So just an FYI there. We did not know we would need ID for the movie we were planning to watch and the guy was very rude when we did not have IDs. He was not understanding about our mistake and also threatened to "make us shake out our blankets" that we were holding when we did not have anything in them read more

They always seem to have the sound pegged on it's highest setting making it just too loud and hard to understand words. There's a reason a lot of people put in ear plugs there. read more

We tried this place for the first time on Halloween night. Excuse the pun, but it was a ghost town. Being it was our first time there, we didn't really know the layout and there was no one there when we walked in. Not a single employee or patron to be found. After wandering around, we finally figured out that you have to go to the concession stand to get your ticket. I had purchased ours easily online. Once we figured that out and told where to go, we got to our seats, which were comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our movie very much. The bathrooms were clean as well, I was pleased! We will definitely come back for another big screen thrill. read more

very poor customer service harass people here!!!! beware they go through your bags and kids coats, and keep accusing you of having food on you when you dont. we where buying food. i almost asked for my money back for the movie. i watched him over and over agian checking people. it made me so uncomfortable he was wabting to chexk a 2 year olds coat. didnt catch his name but he is tall, almost bald guy in his 50's said he was a manger in his tag. i have a disbiltiy kid and this guy needs to go!!!! we where going to go to another movie but decided not to go. i dont ever want be harrasssed agian. i have my reciet for what we all bought and this is not ok!!! i will spend my money elsewear where i can enjoy a more comfy seat at the olympia mall. plus they are cheaper on tuesdays. if something dosent change then this guy will be losing the compant business. read more

This cinema deserves no stars. The most filthy movie theater I have ever been to. While you might save a couple bucks going here, you will be disgusted by the unclean sticky floor, rude service, and trash everywhere on the floors. If you think you will be able to throw away your trash, you are mistaken, the trash cans will be overflowing spilling onto the floor. read more

I love our local cinema. I don't want to drive to Olympia or Longview every time I want to watch a movie at the theater. Granted, Midway doesn't have the recliners that are are at larger theaters, but the seats are still comfortable. They have the typical selection of snacks and their popcorn is delicious. If a theater has good popcorn, cold Coke and Milk Duds, then that is all I need. read more

I've been here before on several occasions and there has always been pretty good service. Unfortunately the staff that rang me up today was an a hole. I brought in my 2 clients that have obvious disabilities. To start off with as soon as we walked up to the counter the staff was really bent out of shape at the fact that I was getting 3 tickets but paying for them all separately. Which I get, whatever it could be an inconvenience sometimes. But then one of my clients asked the staff that was helping us what his name was. Thomas held up his name tag and pointed at it with an attitude. I then told him that he can't read and he just continued to ring us up without an apology to my client. If my client could read don't you think he would have read your name tag??? It's 2020 treat people that are not as capable as you are with respect especially in customer service. read more

The Midway Cinema provides the Centralia-Chehalis area with the latest and most popular movies. And for this we are forever grateful. The opportunity to go to the movies, one of our favorite things to do, and not have to drive 40-60 minutes is wonderful. Besides the wide variety of movie options with the bountiful screens, this establishment is clean, staffed with amazingly polite and efficient staff. The prices are typical and expected as we all head to the movies. Midway Cinema also provide a venue for the young and old video gamers. Great for parties as well as a safe place for young people to gather and just have good clean fun. So with this Midway Cinema THANK YOU! A great local cinema. Prices are reasonable and they take care of you when things go wrong. Here's an example: I was walking out of a film last summer I'd wanted to see with my kids. I'd fallen asleep. It was a long week. As I left, an employee asked me how the movie was. When I told her I'd fallen asleep, she asked me to wait and produced a pass to see it again. I thought that was awesome as she didn't have to do that. Well done! read more

This theater is the closest to us. It's a decent place but the volume of the movies is DEAFENING, and I mean that literally. When your ears feel stuffed with cotton for several days after suffering through that, you have hearing damage! I'd love to attend more oft but value my hearing.. read more

WOW, I was treated to a PRIVATE SCREENING of "The Martian." Ok, I'm kidding. I went to the 8:30 PM show on a weekday evening and I was the ONLY ONE in the theater where that movie was shown. Some lady did come in briefly halfway through the movie, I had no idea what she was doing. When the movie let out at 11:00 PM, I wondered if anyone was even left in the theater! I saw a couple cars outside (other than mine) but when I yelled out "Anyone in here?????," no one answered. Ok the seats are very comfortable, and since I was the only one in that theater, I went through ALL rows while the "previews" were showing and..... all seats are good viewing. And since I was the only one in the theater, of course I decided to be obnoxious and turn on my cell phone (to check the time of course...) and I "talked to the movie" and stuff. Speaking of cell phone, they are serious about cell phones. During the previews, there were about FIVE MINUTES in a row of various "shorts" all about "TURN OFF YOUR CELL PHONE!!!!" If you go by yourself, the "Small" popcorn should be sufficient. I didn't think it would be so I bought the "medium" and I couldn't eat it all. As usual, the popcorn is really pricey, I paid $7.50 for a "medium." This theater is next to a shopping mall. If you are coming to this shopping mall to shop in your RV, there is plenty of room to park the RV (unless it's Christmas, then maybe it would be crowded...). I came here in a rental car. UPDATE: Ok, I was treated to ANOTHER "Private screening" of the movie "Steve Jobs." Ok, I was just the only one in the theater for a 3:30 PM showing on a weekday. How in the world do they make money? Again, seats were comfortable, and any place in the theater was good viewing and I could hear well. Since I was the only one, again, I turned on my cell phone and "talked back" to the movie, JUST BECAUSE I COULD! This time I used public transportation to come here. read more

Overall it's a decent place to go and all, I would give it 5 stars but l left my debit card there and they were already closed so I could get it. I called and they said they didn't find it so I went two days without it and finally was just calling them constantly because I knew it was there, then they finally caved in and got annoyed and acts looked and ended up finding it where I left it. It just really bugged me that they played dumb and didn't actually looked for it.. so all in all make sure you leave nothing important behind read more

This is a poor excuse for a movie theatre run down and very small, attached to a dead mall. So under staffed you can't buy your tickets at the front box office you are made to wait in line at the consession stand lines and God forbid you are not buying overpriced food you will wait in a separate line only served after all others buying food are done getting ripped off. This is a prime example of why more and more people are just watching movies in there home theaters. There are still some theaters that make the experience and expense worth it this not one of them spend your money elsewhere. read more

Midway Cinema is the closest theater to me and I love it. Its never too busy, unless there's a new release of something that everybody in the area is DYING to see (Twilight Series/Harry Potter series), otherwise they're never crowded. They have a nice staff and the whole place is very clean, especially the bathrooms which is important to me. The food is priced like most theaters and they actually have a nice little selection. Just stood in line for half an hour...15 minutes past when our movie started! And still 20 minutes out from getting tickets! When we arrive there were 5 registers open...now 2! Even with call ins, management should have a plan. We left! read more

I paid $5 for an uncooked pretzel and $2 for fake cheese that spilled everywhere in a theater with only 4 other people.

We live in Rochester and are very thankful that Midway Cinemas is so close. Going up to the Olympia theaters is sometimes a challenge with the traffic. Also they employee people who need a job. So we are happy they are there and want to support them so they can stay open. I think this may have been corrected, but they should have a separate line for just tickets so people don't have to wait for all the food orders and be late for their movie. We haven't had a problem that way, but I'm sure if just a few people commented on this it would be an easy thing for them to correct. We say, support your local businesses for improved economy. The staff there are nice, there's a good selection of food, the seats are comfortable; or if you prefer, spend an hour or more in traffic and go to Olympia. (We don't mind spending a little more for popcorn if it helps support them.) And enjoy your movie! read more
