I called the clinic where Dr. Hayley Nguyen practices, explained our situation, and the staff kindly told us to come in and that Dr. Nguyen would see her. From the moment we arrived, Dr. Nguyen and her staff were very professional, friendly, and caring. Dr. Nguyen knew that we were from out of town and even took the time to recommend several restaurants for us to try while we were in Houston. That personal touch meant a lot to us during a stressful time. We are very thankful for the care and kindness we received. If you are looking for a caring and professional doctor, I highly recommend Dr. Hayley Nguyen!

She has blood draws in office also so no traveling to another location to get that done. She uses a portal after the visit to communicate results and next steps. I especially like that during her visit with you, she really takes the time to listen. It doesn't feel like she's just wanting to get you in and out to move onto the next. Her notes are super thorough as well! I had a gap in coverage due to being laid off and when I came back in, she just picked right back up where we started. I highly recommend still! She's the best!

I first came to see Dr. Maldonado all the way back in 2008…read more I had a good experience but I'm the type of guy who's always trying to tough it out when it comes to being sick and never cared too much for the annual check up so I never really made it back here until a few years had passed. Now that I'm older, I've made a conscious decision to be better about my health. Of course, this place was the first thing that came to mind. I came back to see Dr. Maldonado and he didn't disappoint. He will personally call you with your test results and explain what the results mean. On top of that, Dr. Maldonado is not the type who will push one type of treatment without being thorough with your check up. If you're looking for a general physician, make an appointment here and see if you've found yourself your GP. The amount they charge here also very reasonable!!! Only downside is when I called in to make an appointment, the lady with whom I was talking to on the phone kept asking about insurance information that I had provided at the beginning of our conversation! And they asked about it again when I came to my appointment!

Unfortunately, my experience with the front office has been consistently disappointing. The staff has demonstrated a lack of professionalism, poor listening skills, and an unhelpful, at times combative, approach to addressing patient concerns. The level of customer service simply does not reflect the high standard of care that Dr. Maldonado provides. I sincerely hope the practice invests in improving the patient experience at the front desk, as it would better complement the excellent medical care provided by the physician.

When I was shopping for a new Family Practitioner in town, I looked for recs from my other…read morephysicians and Dr. Posey's name came up. There are a few things I look for when I'm researching for a medical professional. First, I look up credentials (no brainer there) and Dr. Posey just happened to have graduated from my alma mater albeit many moons before me. Second, I look up any ratings available online or any personal recommendations from other patients and/or doctors. Finally, the ease, efficiency and politeness of their front office staff. Nothing's worse than trying to get an appointment or a simple question answered with a staff that's rude and incompetent. Thankfully, Associates in Medicine (which Dr. Posey is a part of) has a very pleasant and efficient staff. There are many things I love about going to an "old school" doctor. Dr. Posey isn't a young man (in fact, he reminds me of my grandfather) but his knowledge is broad and he is impeccably thorough in his examinations. In one of his initial thorough examinations, I found out I had mitral valve prolapse which had gone undiagnosed by my former physician for 20+ years. Dr. Posey listened to my heart sounds in all the correct positions while sitting up as well as had me turn to my left side while supine so the heart could be in a more anterior position to hear the "click" of my inefficient valve more clearly. I think I've only EVER done that in school and have never actually seen it in practice. I also had an EKG done (other issues with my heart) which, again, my original physician never did. He also did neuro checks which many, many physicians would skip in a young, seemingly healthy patient like myself. Overall, Dr. Posey requests a full physical exam once a year in his patients which include blood work (CBC, chemistry, thyroid, cholesterol panel), urinalysis & culture, and a chest x-ray. During my first year being his patient, I declined all the exams (because I was a bad patient and just wanted to be seen for my actual focused problem) but since then I've been compliant because I know Dr. Posey is looking out only for my best interest. Perhaps one of my favorite things about Dr. Posey is his bedside manner. He isn't one of those 5 minute physicians we're all so used to these days. He takes his time to interview you and do your exam to correctly diagnose the problem. And if he doesn't have the answer, he's more than happy to refer you to someone who does (with a personal phone call). Once, when I had to have minor surgery, Dr. Posey arranged my office visit with the surgeon for the following morning by calling the surgeon himself while I waited in one of the exam rooms. When he came back, he handed me a printed copy of my insurance and told me that the surgeon's office was expecting my call and that I was scheduled the next morning for my surgery. When I went to the surgeon's office the following day, apparently, the surgeon doesn't even have morning clinic that day but put me in as a favor to Dr. Posey! I sincerely appreciated that extra little effort. I know how hard it is to find a good physician these days and I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon such a great doc.

The receptionist greeted me warmly and immediately set a positive tone for my visit. The doctor was not only pleasant but incredibly thorough. He took the time to listen and made sure all of my concerns were addressed. I felt HEARD and truly felt like my care mattered. Unlike many ER experiences, the doctor didn't just see me once and disappear. He returned several times throughout my visit to discuss results, answer questions, and make sure I understood everything. He made sure I had an after care plan and explained that all as well. Nurse Pam was absolutely amazing. She is caring, gentle, knowledgeable, and exceptional at what she does. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I understood what I needed to know before leaving and she was pleasant to talk to. Jackie, the CT technologist, was also wonderful. She was kind, warm, professional, and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. She explained everything before we started so there were no surprises. She was also very pleasant to talk to. I would also like to recognize the young lady who was shadowing. She was kind, professional, and attentive throughout my visit. She asked important questions about my medical history, drug allergies and did a wonderful job making sure I was comfortable. Her compassion and professionalism were evident, and she has a bright future ahead of her in healthcare. Before I was discharged, the staff made sure I had all of my results, understood my next steps, and had every opportunity to ask questions. I never felt like I was being rushed out of the door. The facility itself was clean, organized, and well-maintained. Most importantly, every person I encountered treated me with kindness and compassion. I am truly grateful for the outstanding care I received. This facility is staffed by genuinely great people who CLEARLY care about their patients. Thank you all for making a stressful experience feel so much easier.

She is smart and very astute--she really pays attention to you as a person and takes her time to talk through what's going on. As someone mentioned, she does have a medical home fee (which IS listed prominently on her website, by the way) and that fee is something becoming more common with doctors today. Why? Insurance has not only run up costs for consumers but for practitioners as well. That fee ensures that she has the bandwidth to care for her patient load.
