It is so good to get to write a review about a physician on a personal level. I have been having…read moresome health issues for over a year now feeling super run down, severely fatigued, wanting to sleep all the time and a lack of desire to do anything at all, albeit work, hanging out with friends and/or going out in general. Not having a PCP and having access to a full array of physicians in the medical center, I searched for a physician who accepted my Aetna insurance and who was even in my building and found Dr. Dryden. I have to boast that this was THE BEST choice I have made regarding my general healthcare. Dr. Dryden is SO extremely personable, attentive, caring, compassionate and definitely listened to everything I had to say. She is just so down to earth and not one of those condescending physicians you find from time to time; it was like talking to a long time friend. She gave me her opinion of what was possibly causing my issues, what the options were if she was right, and sent me to get a whole plethora of lab work to check ALL of my vitamin levels, iron, etc... My lab work came back rather quickly, considering the Vit C was going to take the longest. In the end, it turns out I was almost completely out of iron and Vit D, and she let me know she was going to have me take a super high dose of Vit D weekly and about 750mg iron total a day. I inquired about an iron transfusion, and she said that is an option if the pills don't help enough. My own physician who I consult for asked who I ended up seeing; when I told him, he says, "You did great on that choice; Natalie is the best!" Was he ever right because I will go to her for all of my basic healthcare needs. Thanks to my new prescriptions, my back doesn't hurt anymore (which I found was caused by depleted levels of Vit D), and I am having a little more energy now. Do you want a great physician who is going to listen to you and not talk all over you? Call Dr. Dryden's office!

When I was shopping for a new Family Practitioner in town, I looked for recs from my other…read morephysicians and Dr. Posey's name came up. There are a few things I look for when I'm researching for a medical professional. First, I look up credentials (no brainer there) and Dr. Posey just happened to have graduated from my alma mater albeit many moons before me. Second, I look up any ratings available online or any personal recommendations from other patients and/or doctors. Finally, the ease, efficiency and politeness of their front office staff. Nothing's worse than trying to get an appointment or a simple question answered with a staff that's rude and incompetent. Thankfully, Associates in Medicine (which Dr. Posey is a part of) has a very pleasant and efficient staff. There are many things I love about going to an "old school" doctor. Dr. Posey isn't a young man (in fact, he reminds me of my grandfather) but his knowledge is broad and he is impeccably thorough in his examinations. In one of his initial thorough examinations, I found out I had mitral valve prolapse which had gone undiagnosed by my former physician for 20+ years. Dr. Posey listened to my heart sounds in all the correct positions while sitting up as well as had me turn to my left side while supine so the heart could be in a more anterior position to hear the "click" of my inefficient valve more clearly. I think I've only EVER done that in school and have never actually seen it in practice. I also had an EKG done (other issues with my heart) which, again, my original physician never did. He also did neuro checks which many, many physicians would skip in a young, seemingly healthy patient like myself. Overall, Dr. Posey requests a full physical exam once a year in his patients which include blood work (CBC, chemistry, thyroid, cholesterol panel), urinalysis & culture, and a chest x-ray. During my first year being his patient, I declined all the exams (because I was a bad patient and just wanted to be seen for my actual focused problem) but since then I've been compliant because I know Dr. Posey is looking out only for my best interest. Perhaps one of my favorite things about Dr. Posey is his bedside manner. He isn't one of those 5 minute physicians we're all so used to these days. He takes his time to interview you and do your exam to correctly diagnose the problem. And if he doesn't have the answer, he's more than happy to refer you to someone who does (with a personal phone call). Once, when I had to have minor surgery, Dr. Posey arranged my office visit with the surgeon for the following morning by calling the surgeon himself while I waited in one of the exam rooms. When he came back, he handed me a printed copy of my insurance and told me that the surgeon's office was expecting my call and that I was scheduled the next morning for my surgery. When I went to the surgeon's office the following day, apparently, the surgeon doesn't even have morning clinic that day but put me in as a favor to Dr. Posey! I sincerely appreciated that extra little effort. I know how hard it is to find a good physician these days and I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon such a great doc.

At no point was I informed about the necessity, cost, or purpose of these tests, nor was I asked for consent before they were performed. This lack of transparency is concerning and, in my opinion, unacceptable in a healthcare setting where patients should be fully informed about their care and any associated costs. When I followed up to address the issue, I did not receive a satisfactory explanation or resolution. Patients should not have to deal with unexpected charges for services they did not agree to. I recommend that anyone visiting this office ask detailed questions and confirm all procedures and costs in advance to avoid similar issues.

I got a notice the next morning that they needed to talk to me about my appointment request. They called me while I was in a meeting, though it only rang 2-3 times with no voicemail left to indicate what additional information was needed. I attempted to call them back twice to discuss the issue and no one answered and there was no voicemail box for me to leave a message so they cancelled my appointment. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing to make an appointment for an issue and the office not answer multiple call attempts to resolve an issue that is unclear in the first place.

She provides great compassion and understanding as you would want in a doctor. She's so great, that sometimes it's hard to get on her schedule if you don't book in advance. But even when I am being seen by other physicians or nurses, I'm always getting great care and compassion from them. Their lab techs have been the same 2 amazing women that has been their since I started visiting. I truly appreciate their care and compassion as getting labs done are my least favorites. But seeing them always put a smile on my face and make me feel at ease. Another thing that I really appreciate, is their app. Anytime I have questions, want to see my test results, need to set an appointment, or need referrals, I can do so in their app. It's very user friendly and they will get back to me within 24-48 business hours. My health is good because I have a great healthy village with Dr. Gilford and team at Village Medical.
