I knew about this place since I grew up in the area, so on one of our trips "back home" to the area I brought my boyfriend here. Now every time we visit, we grab a coffee from next door (Templeton's) and pop into Books in Stock to peruse the many, many, MANY shelves of books for at least a couple of hours, and always leave with a stack or two of wonderful finds. Apart from the vast selection that spans every genre you could possibly think of, the atmosphere in this shop is the true soul of this place. Two floors packed full of books (and that comforting old-book-smell) with chairs here and there should you care to plop down for a literary adventure. We've frequented many bookstores in many states, and this is still our favorite one. You'll almost always find what you're looking for - and probably leave with several books you didn't know you needed when you walked in.

This place is really great if you're looking for "their type"...which seemed to be Christian definitely, nationalist maybe...so if you're into that you'll love it. There WERE sections for diverse topics-they were just either empty or nearly so. Maybe a bunch of witchy liberal first peoples recently came through and they haven't recovered? There were whole aisles devoted to Christian books. All in all, not diverse but they do have nice books if you are looking for what they carry.

I could easily spend hours here, and did, last Sunday! What gorgeous decor, layout, vibes and selection they have! Workers were really friendly as well. The prices of books were high though--no discount at all for new books. Fine to support local but this is why the library will still always be my favorite. What I was confused about is how the books are organized because it is not by author nor by used/new. I'm pretty sure new books were placed right next to pre-owned ones on the same shelf... I did enjoy all the gift and merchandise displays. They were all set up in a way that looked irresistible to buy! My BF bought this photography coffee table book he was really excited about and I got a children's novel illustrated by Jon Klassen (big fans!).

Some categories really impressed me. There is a shelf of foreign language books. There is a kids section with books and plushies. There are plenty of souvenirs that I really appreciated. Especially loved Freida McFadden game and book nook! There are multiple shelf of used book with pretty good finds. The associates at the store shared that they tend to look at local book clubs' reads and stock the books. I easily found a book that I couldn't find anywhere locally (indie store or large retailers). MY BUYS: My friend and I browsed this store for awhile. I wish that I had hours to browse that day. We both purchased a popular thriller at full price (market price). We felt really good about supporting local. SERVICE: The service was really amazing! My friend and I asked about potential international reads for our international book club. It was a very obscure question. Within minutes the associates provided us with a huge list of potential books. I've never seen such accommodation and efficiency! We were able to also ask a lot about the store and inventory. We were treated so nicely. The service is simply incredible! MEMBERSHIPS: There are a few memberships and savings available at this store. Free membership allows you to sign up for free, then you get $5 off when you spend $100. The paid membership is $20 for one year. You will get 10% during every purchase. I'll look into memberships during my next visit. I really loved The Walls of Books! Love the selection! Love the service! Love that I can find local book club reads! I will be back to shop here for book club finds and winter book hoarding. I very highly recommend visiting this store!
