You'll have to be patient as they're new and still working some things out. The interiors nice. Open, doesn't feel like you're packed in. The wife loves plants+beer. They have a wall of potted plants. Hours are listed on Instagram. Open daily except Mondays. No phone No internet/wifi Limited # of beers on tap. I'm sure there are plans for more. No sours. No stouts. In case wondering. They had an Election Day social, decided to stop by and support. Whoever decided to post for Election day was genius. Had a pretty good showing for midday when I stopped by. Although I didn't have any food. They had a nice American Food selection. Burger looked good. I was looking for a venue for an upcoming work event for around 25-30 people, and decided to check out Midnight Owl Brewing over the weekend to see if it could meet our needs. We stopped in on Saturday around 12:30pm and it was pretty dead, but as we sat there, more and more people started to fill in. The space was nice and clean, and had minimal but fun decor that tied into the owl theme of the business. Menus are offered through a QR code, so it's not the place for those without a bit of technical understanding. We ordered the "big 'ol pretzel" and as soon as it came out of the kitchen doors blew instantly understood why it has that name! It's certainly an appetizer to share with others. We also got wings, fries, and sandwiches and all were tasty. I'm looking forward to going back this week with a larger group and trying the beer selection. read more

Excellent service. Friendly and gave appropriate time and patience to us. Place is spacious. Nice Subtle art and wood floors. Garage like windows that more than likely open in warmer weather. The beer is OK - nothing wrong, but nothing spectacular. That said I am a beer snob and the styles are varied and they come clean, crisp and true. The burger is awesome! and the apps I have had are great too. We do love coming in with friends but wish that the sound level could be dampened even more. The Midnight Owl is a new delight to the Cleveland recently-opened restaurants. The atmosphere has a mellow Jimmy Buffet happy-making mood and a mellow Key West vibe. You immediately feel as though you're on vacation.. . Front windows open and patrons on the patio. To one's left, three fermenters prominently positioned on the western wall suggesting we are here for business and here are the badges of years of mastery. My wife and I took seats at a table on the eastern wall, immediately under the blackboard recommending the beer-of-the-day. A young man (being a senior, who isn't a young man to me) came to table and we quickly belched up the recalled goodies which we had seen on the on-line menu. We began with the onion rings. These are the most scrumptious morsels that you find this side of heaven!!! The light batter enhanced the large onions which echoed the old Lays potato chip challenge, "I'll bet you can't eat just one!". Three Amigos, a spinach-mushroom empanada, a ham and cheese empanada and a hamburger empanada. We felt like we died and went to heaven!I I "wuffed" own the splendidly brewed, golden beer and grinned triumphantly. And finally,? It's so great to have a new brewery on the east side. We enjoyed some smash burgers and a couple of pints.

Just visited Midnight Owl tonight. Very impressed. Had a very refreshing Pilsner and the Bacon & Blue smash burger with fries was awesome. Props to the kitchen for cooking it perfectly. Service was warm and attentive. Beautiful night with the front doors open. read more

A great addition to the Cleveland brewery scene (so much that is is part of the Cleveland brewery passport network) this is a really nice and friendly place with very good food that is quite eclectic - from empanadas and mediterranean shareables to tasty smash burgers. As expected a great beer selection as well. Highly recommended! read more

So happy they chose our neighborhood to move to! Great staff with super positive attitudes. They are growing the beer selection while keeping food simple- good move. Great brewery in Shaker Heights. While I am not a beer fan I did have Western Reserve 8 year which was smooth. The 8 year was $22 but they never listed prices on the menu. Not at all happy about that. read more

I am not a brewery person because I don't drink beer, but that won't stop me from coming to this place with great frequency. Had three empanadas that were delicious, spinach and mushroom, beef and cheese, and the daily special of pulled pork. The accompanying sauces were great too. I love the service, very attentive and friendly. It was a really cool place to hang out. Simple but attractive. We want on a Tuesday and there were at least 40 people there with the garage door windows up, watching the street and foot traffic. Great addition to Shaker Heights. Food was okay.....beer was tasty. When it was time to pay the bill our server just walked over, never gave a total, never gave a receipt, and asked for a credit card....seemed offended when I asked what our total bill was. I thought it was a little over-priced for the food we got so I asked for a printed receipt on the way out and after reviewing they didn't even charge for our second beer. Typically we are honest and always bring an honest mistake to their attention but I just walked away since they never even gave us a chance to review the bill. Probably won't be back read more

We visited for the first time on an early Saturday evening. It wasn't too busy so we sat right down. There is a large beer selection and my husband had the Liberty Oak and I had a rose cider. Both were very good! We split a large pretzel that came with mustard and a cheese sauce. The mustard was good but the cheese sauce had an odd taste. My husband ordered a spicy chicken sandwich with fries. He really enjoyed the meal! He asked the server to bring more ketchup (it came in a small ramekin) but he never did so that was disappointing. I ordered the black and blue smash burger. After it was delivered and I ate a few bites, I realized it was the traditional smash burger, not the black and blue one. The one I had was good so it wasn't worth sending it back. I think we'll be back to try more beers and maybe actually get the black and blue burger!! read more

This is a GREAT addition to Van Aken! Beer is obviously good, but the food was an amazing surpise. The chicken sandwich is huge and the empanada's are incredibly tasty. Service is also outstanding. Very highly recommend this brewery. read more

I can forgive just about anything that would lead to a bad experience but I absolutely can't get behind rudeness. I was standing at the bar for a few minutes with my son waiting to order some food, when the younger bartender came up to me and rudely said my son was not allowed at the bar and walked away while cracking his neck back to his friends where he continued to play trivia with them instead of doing his job. I was truthfully dumbfounded by the whole situation. The other bartender came up a few minutes later and took my order but I ended up cancelling another minute later and just left because the whole situation left a sour taste in my mouth. Would love to say I'd be back because I love trivia but not likely. read more

Easily the best craft beer on the east side! Their food is fantastic too. Definitely recommend this great little spot for lunch or dinner.

The service was not so great. I feel their beer offerings were not the best so I asked to order a wine spritzer. I was told they don't have wine spritzers. I asked if they have sprite and if they could just put a splash into my wine. I was denied with a very strong arrogance to the man who waited on our table of 6. We placed the order that had already been placed but decided to take our food order elsewhere. He was very rude! What a shame! read more

This is our second visit. The first time was sooo much better. Service was sub-par. We sat down at a table near the bar. Our server didn't come to our table for about 8 minutes. ( we were discussing leaving.) He had walked by us after we had seated ourselves. Food gets a "D". We had the spring bushetta. It was a nice idea but the execution was a fail. The toast was barely toasted. The asparagus didn't have any tips, literally just the bottoms of the stalks. Four 2" lengths on each brushetta. They rolled right off. The french fries are like large curly fries. My wife never uses any sauce on her fries. She actually used the accompanying ketchup. The hummus was standard. They're beer is solid. read more

The staff might be the only thing that outshines the beer and food. All of the servers and managers I have interacted with have been thoughtful, kind, and eager to offer suggestions. Food has been delicious and hot each time I've ordered. The beer is well made with an evergrowing but carefully-curated selection. If they are this "on" in their earliest stages of being in business, I look forward to seeing what comes next (especially as the summer months allow for the "garage doors" to be open). read more

My friend and I ordered two glasses of wine. I was told they only had Chardonnay and a "red blend" as they were out of everything else. So I got the white and she got the red. The "Chardonnay" tasted more like a Pinot Grigio - definitely not a dry white. The red was equally as disappointing. When I went up to the bar to close out my tab, I found that the red was $14 and the white was $12. Ridiculous. Won't be going back. read more
