Found this ice cream and cookie shop hidden in the back of Park Sheridan West plaza across from TY Park. Parking was tight but found the last space. Excited for a great cookie I walked inside and was greeted instantly by the sole employee. The giant blue Midnight Cookies & Cream mural on the wall was inviting and set the tone for the next few minutes. The monster specialty cookies looked amazing but too heavy as a mid day snack. Another display offered a few smaller cookies and it was a difficult decision between the red velvet, oatmeal raisin or the classic chocolate chip which I went with. The employee offered to heat up the cookie which was great since it made the chips gooey. The cookie was a wonderful snack 8.5/10. The bathroom was very clean with white painted walls and black trim which blended perfectly into the black tiled flooring. The shop is open until midnight weekdays and 2am on weekends. read more

I ordered from this location on a weekend night after wanting a sweet treat to share with the family but not wanting to go to a popular chain. They have big gourmet cookies and ice cream so we opted for a box of 4 cookies. Service was quick , I ordered online and picked up to go. We had Guava Maria , Butter crunch, Nutella stuffed and S'mores. I thought I was going to love this cookies specially the Nutella one, but they were just too much and at the same underwhelming cookie flavor. Unfortunately I was not a fan of neither cookie. Came here with my partner for an after dinner treat close to midnight on a weekday and it was actually fairly busy for a weeknight. The service was prompt and the our dessert came out pretty fast. You can see all your options displayed on three screens for the menu behind the counter. If you're a visual person, like me, they have the cookies on display both on the tv screen and behind the counter. We chose to share a Cookie a la Mode which includes a signature cookie of your choice and an ice cream of your choice. We got the Oreo red velvet and cookies and cream ice cream. Overall, the dessert was super sweet and was pretty good. The Oreo red velvet was an okay cookie, with a good crisp on the outside but didn't have much of that red velvet taste. The cream cheese filling was good, though. We didn't end up finishing it but we might have just been too stuffed from dinner. I asked the girl how she could stand the smell of sugar, she agreed it was strong. There are two displays of their cookies, the real sweet ones that are the most creative and the regular ones that are regular sugar. The creative ones are more money, we spent on two cookies 8 dollars. My husband loves sweets and I don't so we ordered two of the ones he wanted to try warmed up. There are places to sit and eat your sugar cookies so we tried them and even hubby said it was a sugar rush and did not like them at all. He gave this place one rating and he loves sweets. I wanted to really like this place but concern over ice cream labeled as vegan having possible dairy makes it a nope. Came here with my girlfriend cause I'm a fatty and she knows I like ice cream. She can't have dairy so while I went full out with a Caramel ice cream sugar cookie Sammy, she had the vegan butter pecan with oreo crumbles (oreos are vegan as well). The service here was super nice, I need to add. The main person who helped us was talkative and helpful. He did make a comment about how the vegan version of the butter pecan was better than the regular, so I have a theory about maybe there being an accidently switch up (more explanation later). I loved my cookie Sammy but my girlfriend couldn't finish her ice cream because her stomach started hurting, a reaction to eating something' not vegan. I tried it myself and it had an odd consistency, kind of like melted cheese. It didn't taste off to me or weird and didn't give me a stomach ache, but I can have dairy. My theory is that maybe the reason the vegan version is better than the regular version is cause there was a switch up and the vegan version isn't vegan. I'm not 100% sure but considering I ate the rest and was fine and my girlfriend took some bites and got sick makes me think maybe it's not. Highly recommend these cookies for a late night snack. It gives you an opportunity to try different flavors, for people with different palates. The other two were a bit artificial tasting for me. They are pretty big cookies and were served warm. Our service was not the best. It's so cute! A fun experience! We got the "pick 6" box and we chose 6 different cookies. These are huge. They are very sweet. And I give them a 4 because if that's what you like, this is the place! But it's not for me. 6 cookies is $20. They also get very hard after they cool off. I won't go again, but! If you love sweets, I recommend eating your cookie there, and I do recommend them. The service was quick and friendly and the display and decor were interesting. We had the cookies warmed to go. The put them in separate plastic containers. You could put ice cream on top as well but I opted not too. We have a similar cookie place that's also open late like this in Chicago, so we were thrilled when we found this! It's tucked away in a shopping plaza that was minutes from where we were staying. Haven't been here in a couple years and had no plans to go back because the cookies are so odd. My wife came home with one for our little guys. One with Oreo on top. The middle tastes uncooked and the outside is hard but not fresh crunch hard just sorta stale hard. It almost tastes like they microwave the cookies to cook them and then throw them in a toaster for a few seconds. During this difficult time where business are closed, Midnight Cookies is open to place your order at the door off the posted menu by calling in, paying and they brought it out for us in just a few minutes. So many people came to take these out but the service was quick considering people had to wait outside. You can also order to have delivered through Grub Hub. We ordered some goodies. The Nutella Stuffed Cookie, which has Nutella oozing out from the sides, a beautiful Birthday Cake Cookie, and an incredible Smores cookie, the marshmallows piled on the top of the graham cracker, all over the chocolate cookie. The cookies were soft and fresh when we got home. Each cookie was big enough to feed 2-3 and the idea is to order several varieties to try. In fact BIG is putting it lightly. These cookies are HUGE, each one like a small cake. We cut each of them in 3 pieces. Midnight Cookies also has Ice Cream and Ice cream cones. Stopped at this Midnight Cookies location on Sheridan Street so my teenage boys could get dessert. We waited patiently on line while perusing the menu. Midnight serves ice cream items, but we were there got their specialty, huge cookies! So many flavors and ingredients! The boys finally decided on a 6-cookie box so they could try a bunch. I did not get any for myself but I did try a few bites. I was not impressed with the Guava Maria...nice toppings but the cookie is too pedestrian. All of the other cookies were out of this world: Nutella stuffed, s'mores, cookies & cream. The cookies came fresh out of the oven and were hot and gooey. So why only 3 stars? The service was abysmal. We placed our order and waited and waited..... Several customers who arrived after us got their cookies. Finally after about 20 minutes, a server told us one of the cookie we ordered was not available. Really, we waited so long for that? My son picked another cookie flavor instead and then we waited another 15 minutes until our cookies were ready. Yes, we were offers a complimentary drink. Still, I don't think the servers were very apologetic. Also, besides drinks, they could have thrown in an extra cookie or two for our prolonged and ridiculous wait. More like Mid Cookies. I've tried on three different occasions over the years but am always left disappointed. I went over the other night and ask them what they could stuff their chocolate chip cookies with. The sweet worker(yes the customer service is phenomenal) told me i could have milk chocolate, hazelnut, dark chocolate and some other options. I of course, went with the dark chocolate, but to my disappointment when I actually bit into it, it was was actually just filled with your basic Hershey's syrup that they use for chocolate milk. It'll definitely be the last time I make this mistake of giving this place another shot. I don't know how they've made it this long with places like Crumbl cookies or even Subway literally destroying their cooking quality.
