    Food: Brussel sprouts and tofu
    Kathleene S.

No offense, but the selection of the food menu just looks like it doesn't match the whole vibe of the bar. Like...Brussel sprouts with shaved salted egg yolk and furikake ??? But honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted GREAT...I might make that. The stuffed tofu with okonomi sauce was a bit salty, but both were served in worth paying for portion. I came at 10PM Saturday (last night). There's a cash cover fee of $10. +$3 for coat check. Security outside doors to check ID. Go in and up to 2nd floor and there's a booth with ATM to pay the fees. There's a turnstile to get in and additional security just in case. The overall space isn't huge, it's like a rectangle, where you're entering in the middle of one of the long sides. Past the turnstile, you're directly faced with a line of 2-person tables along the wall. Behind that wall is bigger group seating, for up to 8 people, 4 tables. To your left, the bar, washrooms, more wall sectioned seating, high tables no seating, 2 arcade machines. To your right, 2- person tables, and an area for 8 arcade machines. The bar accepts card. Bartender was really kind and accommodating, and I would give him more than 5 stars if I could. I'm taking a bit of an alcohol break for health reasons, and he was able to make me a few mocktails, which was so nice. I also ordered the Brussel Sprouts (thought I ordered the fries looking dish too, turns I hadn't), and was served the Tofu. He had them remake the Brussel Sprouts and I felt bad that there was this tofu just now..wasted so I offered to pay for it too, but due to the wait and error, it was offered on the house. Thank you. The place was starting to build up traffic when I arrived and quickly got crowded because I was part of a very large 20+ person group. It was so crowded it was hard to walk anywhere, you had to squeeze just to get by anyone. Overall, I wish they had a few more games! But totally understand if they can't add more because of space. It was a fun time. The DJ was playing alllllllllllllll the right songs. I really liked this place because of the options. A 20 person group like mine obviously comes with many different personalities, but everyone was able to enjoy because of the arcade theme, and the space, and open seating. You could be as little as one person, 2 people, are come as a huge crowd like mine, and it would all work out. Overall, would come back and bring others with me.

We came on a Wednesday night and were able to make it in time for their half price detroit styled pizzas. They have free game play all the time. They don't have a lot of games, but they do have a wide variety - racing, basketball, pong, $1 photobooth, but our favourite was the bishi bashi special. It's a 3 player game and it's about 20 mini games, which lasts about 30 seconds per game. We had such a fun time playing this among the 3 of us - a must play!! For food, we got the duck pizza and bacon pizza - both are delicious with perfectly crispy crust and airy base. The pizzas took quite long (30+ mins). The staff were very friendly and there is a lot of seating. They have different specials each day and Fri and Sat have cover charges.

I love skee-ball, so that was one thing, but the video-arcade version of beer pong was not something I was expecting. The pinball games ranging from the old school cog version, to the 80s version where computers started to get involved, to the modern ones made just this year showcased a real range. What was incredibly exciting was being able to play a number of Mario Kart arcade game races, that I see for three or four dollars a race at other arcades. Couple that with the incredible food options (Deep fried mac and cheese wedges, deep fried mars bars, deep fried... everything!) and at prices that have you snacking and grazing through the whole thing. It's a great place for kids, too. The only thing is kids need to be out by 8pm. But, there's a lot to do before then.

The arcade games are mostly in good order. Though it was kind of awkward that the drinks we ordered were in glassware making it a bit challenging to walk around play games while holding a drink. Even soft drinks were in a short glass cup and volume was lower than expected. While they do have small counters around the arcade games to hold drinks, I think there should be more as there was a section that didn't have any counter and I was just holding people's drinks while they played. We also ordered the espresso martini, while it taste just fine, it didn't meet our expectations as there wasn't a thick foam or espresso beans. He did ask how it was and we mentioned the beans and the bartender did add it in afterwards. Some unique games that I liked that isn't even at D&B or other arcades I've been to is the dodgeball where you hit your own coloured targets, the rope race climbing and the pin setter game where you have to prop a glass bottle up with a string and ring (reminded me of those games at the Ex). We really enjoyed the basketball shoot out too.

None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Then you have to ask for a clue (which they won't give, it'll just be a condescending phrase that tells you to do what you've already been doing.) then after fighting with them for five min they'll realize it's their fault and manually start it, wasting not just our time but our money. 30 dollars a person is just ridiculous for what this is. If you want more fun lock yourself in a dark closet for 30 min and try to get out, you'll probably feel more satisfied anyways. I will say that we did ignore all of the red flags 1. The bad reviews online 2. The two groups that came out super pissed off before us fighting for refunds cause nothing worked for them 3. How the place looked So kinda on us but... Did this for group bonding and I will say we did bond pretty well over how terrible this was and how much we got scammed, so maybe if you want team bonding then this works for you idk? Definitely tests your teams patience....

So many rooms to go through that it made the experience well worth it. My only criticism would be the staff. We didn't escape the room and only had one section left to get through. When the staff came in telling us we were out of time, the normal procedure would be to walk us through what we had left. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived. It seemed that he was unwilling to walk us through the remaining aspects because if he did, then he'd have to reset all the puzzles... I've been to quite a few escape room locations and never has this happened before, even if the next group had arrived.. Overall the Osaka High room was pretty cool, but I only wish I knew how it ended.....

I love pinball. I love a place that has good eats and drinks. GRETA has everything. It's street parking, which worked nicely when I got here on a Saturday night. I found a free spot and parked. I paid through the Green P app. There is also an underground parking lot on Portland Street that I've used. GRETA has two floors. There are bars on both floors. Hot foods, from wings, to mac and cheese, can be ordered on the top floor. I have a bunch of favourite games here. Classic arcade and pinball machines are on the lower floor. The world's largest Pac-Man machine and Whac-a-mole are upstairs. I like pop. It's Pepsi products here. The Diet Pepsi tasted crisp and refreshing, just as it should be. The bar drinks looked amazing. GRETA started in Calgary. There are now locations in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto. The concept is that you use a rechargeable RFID card to buy credits. Games range between four to twelve credits each. You can also opt for a timed play. You can get an hour of unlimited play, for instance. There are gaming happy hours. For example, if you drop by on a Tuesday or Sunday, you can play an hour's worth of games for $7. There are also food specials. This bar and arcade also has a dance floor. It's on the top floor. It gives off throwback vibes from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I didn't order any food while I was here for an hour. At the Yelp event, GRETA was kind to provide spicy mac and cheese, and churro balls. Both were delicious. I do like the concept of playing a bunch of arcade and pinball games, and more, with the option of getting a drink or a bite to eat. I've been to Freeplay, which was great. I like GRETA more because the games are spaced out and you have more room to play. Staff were super friendly both times that I was here. It's a fun place. I'll be back for more fun! (78)
