Kind of a funny story -- my aunt and uncle stopped by this dealership just to look around, then called me to come check out a few places with them before deciding. We went to another brand first (one they'd always been loyal to) and left feeling pretty jerked around. My uncle said "let's just go back to Mazda" -- and wow, glad we did. Caleb, Derrick, and Nolan all jumped in to help since they were slammed that day, but they still made the whole experience awesome. This review is based on my communications via email with Que Houser and Ro Gilmore. I was in the market to buy a new car and I like to do all of my communications via email. I reached out via the website and Que got back to me quickly with a solid OTD number for a new vehicle. After some emails back and forth, the sales Manager, Ro, jumped in to continue our conversation. In the end, he was able to match one of the quotes that I received but not beat it. His price was very competitive but unfortunately not the lowest so I went with another dealer instead. However, Ro was very responsive the whole time and was great to work with. This is regarding the service center. I took my car in for a sensor issue. Upon dropping it off they conducted a battery check, battery was in great shape. A few days later I went to pick up my car and noticed the bill was much higher than expected. They had charged me for a new battery. When questioned, they admitted they left my car in such a shape that my original battery completely died. And they wanted me to pay for the new one. I'll spare you the details of how that went down, just know that it was a real battle. I have never felt more disrespected than I did by this manager. I had to walk away mid "conversation" to compose myself and also prepare testimony to defend myself. It was a really weird feeling, knowing that this man was actually prepared to battle me. No sense of customer service at all, and I'd wager to say he has an issue with females. I'm new to this area and it saddens me that I do not have a local dealership now. Historically, my car has always received service at the dealership. I don't trust other places. However, the experience I had with this manager was enough to finally make me take a chance on a local shop. I will say that the manager did try to make things right after we literally engaged in a yelling match. He offered me my next seven oil changes free. Unfortunately, not even that would make me go back there. I declined his offer and will never be back. Females, I recommend you take a man with you if you visit this service center. Got scammed into paying way more than I was supposed to for my service and then hurried me out the door and didn't show or tell me what I was paying for because "the system was down". Was purposely blindsided because I'm a young woman. Service took way too long. The older people working here have been friendly, nice, and helpful to me everytime. So I traded a GTI for a Mazda 3 and the sales manager originally offered me $17k for the trade. KBB showed it was worth $27k. I told them this and the manager literally insulted me. Saying there was no way. I was a liar. After he insulted me I went to leave only to be stopped by the GM. They ended up giving me $27k for my trade. I was allowed to book a service appointment however when I arrived the business was closed for the holiday without notification that my appointment would not be filled today. this was a waist of time and gas. The person at the desk was very condescending and tried to sign me up for service I had not requested when I made the appointment including services that were done at a previous visit. He was not the technician or agent I signed up with. No one opened the bay door or greeted me. I was supposed to automatically know how to open the door and where to go. This company has very shady business practices. I purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle, and they added an extended warranty of $1995 to the cost of the vehicle. I later found out that all Mazda CPO vehicles have a seven-year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty at NO EXTRA cost. When I tried to cancel the extended warranty, I was told that it was part of the cost of the vehicle! I already have a warranty on the car, so why would I pay almost $2000 for a warranty that I do not need. I was told that it was part of the cost of the vehicle. That is really dishonest because I paid for the extended warranty separately from the cost of the car payment. I specifically said I did not want the extended warranty to be financed with the vehicle, so how are they separating it if it's included in the cost of the car? It's not the fact that I bought the warranty. It is the fact that they won't refund my money when I told them I don't need it because the car already has one. What kind of warranty does not offer a refund policy when it has been only a week. This is my second time buying a Mazda from them, but I will never buy another one from them because a car that was posted for $25,987 ended up costing over $34,000 with all the extra fees, taxes and warranties--even with $7,000 down and 6.51% APR. What a ripoff! To make matters worse, the warranty only covers engine and transmission. I should have never gone to a dealer or salesperson who works for commission because they are worried about their pockets and not doing what's best for the customer. read more

Service representatives don't even acknowledge you once you pull into the bay. Appointment was at a certain time and vehicle did not get taken to the back until 30 min later. The service rep provided no update on the status of the work being performed. By far the worst customer service and services I have experienced with Mazda. I will give them one star because the Mazda is an excellent auto - the dealer, not so much. After considerable diligence my wife elected to buy a Mazda. That is when the "wheels came off" (so to speak). Despite being told (contiguously) the sales rep knew what he was doing a process that should have take 30-45 minutes (according to THEM!) the process took 3 hours ! (This was for a cash sale. ) The sales person, in answer to the questions asked by my wife, repeatedly told her that information was in the Owner's Manual and she just needed to read it. Since then I have sent 3 emails, 1 letter and 2 phone calls and have received no (as in nada/zero) answers [to include a personal letter sent to the owner]. I had only a week to find a replacement auto for my total loss vehicle...my insurance rental would run out then. At Midlands there was a 2004 Lexus rx330 suv priced at $5888. When attempting to take a test drive it would not start. The battery was dead. They could not revive it. I left and came back...the hood was up and the car was able to start. At that time I noticed the engine was sprayed silver and the paint was peeling off! Took a test drive and noticed there was no cd player, just a cheap bluetooth receiver. The unit that came originally was a great Mark Levenson cd system. Well, upon being seated in the showroom I offered $6000 cash...though I was secretly willing to go $6250. The manager came back with his offer of $7800 (!). I refused then was ready to go...but he "lost" the papers I had brought with me to the dealership....just a ploy to get me to stay. I came back the next day to get my documents and the manager told me he could not find them, and then tried to sell me a different car...and also insulted me by saying that since I was on Social Security Disability "We're paying for your car."! Said they did not have to bulb but someone from Sumter was driving to them. that was a lie. The car is 9 months old and they couldn't tell me why the car has already blown out two bulbs so far. I took my car in to be checked for a recall and service update. They performed the requested services in a fairly speedy manner. I had previously taken it into another dealership who told me I was going to have to pay a service fee to have the updates performed (not the recall). We traded in my Mazda around June 25th. I got a letter in the mail yesterday that my lease is past due on a car I no longer have in my possession. It turns out, the dealership never informed the bank and Mazda that I gave back my car. So, I had to call and handle things myself because obviously people at this dealership don't know how to get shit done or do anything right. We also had to get new brakes on our "New" van because the dealership never got our van serviced before they sold it to us. To top it all off, the chick who sold My husband our van, had to take our van that just got said brakes to pick him up at work and then he had to drive her back to the dealership. Really?!?! This was after he called and they were trying to figure out how they were going to pick him up. What a shit show. I've learned from dealing with this dealership that nobody ever accepts any blame or apologizes for all the bullshit they put you through. There is always an excuse. Without a doubt, the worst mechanic(s) I have ever dealt with. Went in for an oil change, got a few miles down the road, engine died. I checked the oil pressure and level myself; turns out, they drained the oil and didn't put any back in. Their idiocy may have just caused me thousands of dollars in engine damage. Took it back, they said they fixed the problem, now MORE issues are arising that they won't claim responsibility for. I would highly suggest finding a different place to take your car, these people have no idea what they're doing. Even asked some test questions to see if they would answer honestly; I don't know if they lied, or just honestly had no idea what they were talking about. The car is ruined. I don't know WHAT they did back there, but whatever it was, its destroyed the engine. read more

The worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life & with trading in a vehicle to buy another. Beware of the fake review website they're on called dealerrater.com. All the reviews on the website are filtered through or fake. Joey McDougal and Brandon Chaney are the worst people to ever do business with. Also beware of their spot delivery scam they're doing to customers. They will let you trade in your vehicle & drive away with a Mazda with a certain APR and loan term, then claim the initial bank didn't approve your loan, but another bank approved your loan (this time with a higher APR or loan term unbeknownst to the customer). They ran my credit 10 times. (I don't have bad credit) It took me 2 months to get my trade in back from these a**holes. They stole my license plate off of it and now I'm having to apply for another one (thanks guys!) READ THROUGH THEIR PAPERWORK! Or better yet, save yourself the hassle and buy a car somewhere else! Anywhere else! These guys are crooks and will treat you like you're less than dirt. They will be the nicest people you've ever met before you drive off the lot with the car you chose, then turn into their actual awful selves once you've signed their sketchy paperwork. Oh, and if you call them out on their BS they will have the police ban you from their dealership. Also Google their dealership and really do your research. They were sued by another dealership for millions because they were selling cars that had been welded together with another car. My boyfriend doesn't want me to post this review because he's scared they might try and do something to me because I'm coming out about all of this. I went here, which is now Midlands Mazda, with my daughter so she could buy her first car. Jerry Ardis "helped" us. He let her test drive a 2010 Ford Fusion that is posted on their website. The price of this specific vehicle was on their website at $9,595; the sticker on the car showed $15,900. (I did not tell him we saw it and took a picture of it on the site. ) I asked why the car was priced higher than KBB. He responded, "so, what is KBB anyways? Not important like the vehicle". Offered to price it for her at close to $12K. So he deliberately tried to over charge her by over $3K. He gave us a copy of the Car Fax which had an odometer discrepancy of more than 20K in miles. He was rude to top it off. Totally dishonest. I guess commission is more important than than honesty. There has to be an honest dealership out there that won't steal from people! NAMES AND ETC. HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO PROTECT THE GUILTY... I came here on July 30, 2015 to look into trading my 2014 sports car with about 33k miles for a 2010 Mazda CX-7 with about 50k miles. The SUV is priced at about $14k on the website. The sales guy, John, allegedly put the numbers for my car into the kbb. He prints out a sheet and says, "The Kelly Blue Book value of your car is $12,000." I look at him and stand up and say, "have a nice day" because I want the balance on my car paid off (approx. $21k) in the trade and $12k hardly cuts it. He tells me to hold on that he's going to talk with his "manager" about the kbb to get me more. He returns and shows me a sheet that shows they've "given" me $13k for my car and the bottom line showing that I would be paying about $24k for this 2010 Mazda SUV, which is $4,000 more than I'd paid for my sports car 27 days ago. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What kind of fool did they think I was? I tell him no thank and I get up to leave. He says, "no, sit, I'm going to go out here and fight for you". I told him that he'd already done that once and he got knocked out with that $13k. He leaves the office to go "talk" with the finance guy again. I was only trying to trade my car because my insurance person told me that my premium would increase by approximately $200, but I got the notification for my premium it had increased by almost $400. I can afford it, I just didn't WANT to pay the higher amount....it cuts into my Brahmin and Dooney & Bourke handbag budget. I decided I would trade the sporty job in for a "sensible" vehicle on my "I'd like to own one of these vehicles" list, which included Mazdas CX-7, CX-9, and the 6 as well as others. Instead of the sales guy coming back into the office, this big burly guy comes in and introduces himself (I guess he's the F&I guy). He asks me (in a condescending tone), "what makes you think your car is worth $21k?" I told him what I think isn't the point, but I do know that the value of my car is well over that paltry $12k they were trying to offer me. My car is in excellent condition, it has a scratch on the back, but the repair for that is about $300 (I'd already looked into that repair). The car has a spoiler, premium package, leather interior, and electric seat (driver), ambient lighting, SYNC, and Shaker system (whatever that is). No way, that's valued at $12k, unless it's in poor condition and kbb does not provide values for cars in poor condition. I even put in the numbers, selected "fair" condition and didn't select the premium package and spoiler and that's when I came up with a kbb range of $13.5k - $14.5k. HOWEVER, those metrics do not match my car so they're irrelevant because I DO HAVE the premium package, spoiler and my car is in "very good" condition. I know someone who is the F&I manager at a dealership in another state and I had him put all of my car's info into kbb BEFORE I showed up at the Mazda dealership. How is that between the two of us, my friend and I, kbb gives a value range of $17k - $21k, yet the dealership returns a value of $12k? I didn't see what the sales guy entered into the system, but I am of the mind that he "accidentally" entered the incorrect information for my car or they were trying to fleece me. Either way, I decided that I'd have to forego buying any new Brahmins and Dooneys for a while. I gathered my handbag and my keys and I exited stage left. Come correct or don't come at all. But they still refused to take responsibility to repair my cracked and ruined dash board. Considering it's only crack due to recall airbags. smdh what am I to do sue them? I went to this dealership with the intention of buying a car. Then I met the sales manager, Chris; that acted as if he was too good to even speak me, although, I was there to spend money. I left that day and kept shopping for my new car. I found 2 more, but went back today to give them another shot. Chris completely blew the whole deal with poor customer service. All he could do was tell me what he couldn't do for me. If you want the worst customer service possible then go visit Chris. He has no business being a sales manager, desking a deal, or anything else that puts him out front dealing with customers. Worst car buying experience EVER.
