We had our dog with us outside and they were so sweet to her. Our dog wasn't allowed in the building but I was able to go in during the meeting and still find some good info for our trip. The facility is nice with plenty of parking and even though we came on a busy day we still felt welcomed and appreciated. I definitely recommend this stop to anyone heading to the area.

I am happy to share that this was quite a pleasant surprise. You can walk on the pathway and see the river flowing by. So relaxing. There is a lot of beautiful green grass and the bathrooms were clean. The only negative and it is kind of a big one is dogs are not allowed on the grass. The potty area for dogs is a dry dirt and weed area. I know it would be hard to maintain grass with people at pets urinating on it, but it was a little disappointing, considering the rest of the rest office is so pretty.

I believe it's a newer Pilot, and even so, the outside was clean with no trash strewn around. The inside was also tidy, everything is naturally priced higher than normal, but it had lots of high carb/sugary items and snacks to purchase. The bathroom, was CLEAN. Thank you! Clean as in you are not afraid to enter, with ample supplies. If you are on the road you encounter a ton of dirt and grime, but at least you can stop here for a break.

The sign says no overnight parking but also states 8-hour parking limit so was a bit confusing. We decided to take our chances and parked on the truck side in a designated RV parking site and stayed the night. Tons of semis with running generators which was drowned out by the highway noise. Both were easily cancelled with earplugs. But look, we just needed a place to crash to get off the road and avoid driver fatigue. For that we much appreciated the opportunity. Bathrooms are clean. It felt safe. Also, an amazing sunrise and views of Mt Shasta. All and all, for a free night to "camp" we will probably use these rest areas for overnight stays again.

It is very well maintained from the grass, to the cleanliness of the restrooms, to the garbage being emptied on a regular basis. It feels safe to a woman traveling alone and I have even been known to rest my eyes here for a bit on long drives because it feels comfortable to do that here. There are lots of friendly seagulls that are obviously used to being fed by visitors and clean tables with some shade if you want to enjoy a bite to eat or just sit and relax outside a bit. I like the way the trucks are separate from the cars so you don't have to listen to the noise from the engines or deal with the smells. There is also a well maintained pet relief area here as well. If you need the restroom or just a respite, this is a good place.

A good place for birding and if you're here at the right time with your binoculars you may catch a glimpse of some migratory whales or a group of dolphins. THIS was exactly what I got at The Maverick Motel, and couldn't be happier. Don't think you're coming to a Hilton or anything like it.. but great value and exceeded all expectations. The Dad at the front desk was really great and polite even at 11pm AND when we left early morning. The room was definitely.clean and comfortable, with a good soft bed and pillows, a microwave and fridge, and a decent comfortable space for a toilet and shower/tub even for a big guy like myself. The AC blew cold. The TV and cable worked great. Nothing more you can ask for. Thank you for this stay and good nights sleep!!! A couple notes: 1. There is no breakfast here... But they do have coffee. 2. There is a small convenience store in the office, and they've got a lot. 3. MIDGE FLYS - they are everywhere outside and the Dad at the front desk warns you about them. Get in and out of your door quickly to keep them out. THEY ARE HARMLESS. 4. Not sure about wheelchair access here. I didn't see a ramp from the lot to the rooms, but I could be wrong.

A day after staying, my bank account was charged an additional $50. I called the manager and questioned the charge. He told me I was charged because one of the wash cloths was dirty and wouldn't come clean. The towels have faint stains to begin with and are Dollar Tree quality. So apparently if you're in need of a shower, this is NOT the place! You can not take a shower here if you're dirty and use a wash cloth that's been washed and reused a billion times by numerous previous guest and have it not be white or you'll be charged $50!!! The rate of my room was $73! You're telling me a used wash cloth is $50? This place is discriminatory towards Caucasian people. If it's not because I'm white, then how do you justify this? Charging almost the same price as the room for a night for a used wash cloth they probably paid less than 50 cents for. The manager was borderline rude while checking in as well and kept asking multiple times if I had a pet with, which I didn't but kept being asked. I do not recommend this place. I had no complaints other than the TV not working until I saw the additional $50 charge on my bank statement a full day after the fact. Rather than make this situation right, they've decided to keep my $50 for a used washcloth. The room was $73. They are racist particularly against white people and women in general.
