This was my first time going to a butcher shop in Texas and I was worried I was going to look dumb not knowing what I was doing. The people who work at Midland Meat are so incredibly helpful and nice! They did not hesitate to ask me how I was doing and to answer any questions that I had. I didn't get her name but there was one girl helping me who incredibly amazing. She gave me her recommendations of which ribeye she thought was good and type of seasonings to put on it. The shop also has a big selection of seasonings and some vegetables on the side. They also sell better and give out free potatoes. Needless to say I made myself an amazing dinner with the best ribeye I've ever eaten. Every piece I ate was deliciously fatty on the inside. read more

I have frequented here lately for business occasions as I am from out of town. While I have not tried their fresh meat yet (due to flying), I have tried their smoked beef stick and jerky. My favorite part is their meat rubs and seasonings, particularly the Steen's Steak Seasoning! Smoked my best chuck roast with it - Denver Cut Waygu tonight from my home in New Orleans! It's the same routine every time I'm in Midland on business: drag a cooler from Austin, do my work in Midland, fuel up, check tire pressure, get a few empty Gatorade bottles up in the front seat for . . Me . . . then the very last thing I do is stop in for a haul of ribeyes and Denver cuts. I load up at 10am when they open, and I'm at my doorstep in Austin by 4pm. No stops except for maybe fuel, and no food. My wife primes the Traeger wood smoker about 2 hours before my arrival. 2 tomahawks go on, which are enough to feed a family for the weekend, for 2 hours in "smoke" mode. I take them off, let them rest, then seer both sides for about 5 minutes each. Then I spend the next few months depressed about buying grocery store beef until my next trip to Midland. read more

I'm absolutely ruined now thanks to MMC. I can't eat a steak anywhere without being disappointed. Nothing compares to their meat. Nothing. You'll pay a premium for the higher quality cuts, but I guarantee you will notice the difference, and you will be happy you paid those few extra bucks. Best butcher in Midland. Fresh and delicious we always get a couple prime NY's and some mince and sausages for the freezer. Prices are great. Might sound silly but I love the free potatoes, I think it's such a sweet gesture for their customers. Staff is always kind and greets each customer who walks in. Fantastic customer service! Picked up a call in order and they forgot to put the hamburger patties in. Went back the next day to grab those and they didn't question it. I was even going to buy a couple of additional items and they said those were on the house on account of their oversight. What a top-notch way to treat a customer. This company gets my meat orders 100% of the time moving forward. In addition to my experience above, they were also fantastic during the entire coronavirus time. This is the best meat I've ever eaten and it's not even close. The only bad thing is I am completely ruined from ordering steaks and hamburgers at restaurants now, as they just don't hold a candle to the quality you get from Midland Meat. The marbling on their ribeye is unlike anything I've seen. And if you do see that you are going to be at a high end restaurant paying $65-70 for a steak. I'm warning you though. If you start cooking meat from Midland Meat Co you will not be able to order steaks from chain restaurants without being severely disappointed. It will ruin you. read more
