Downsides: There's little room to sit inside, which discourages big groups. Not a problem in summer, though, since they set up tables on the sidewalk. The service is another story. The servers tend to push by without apology and can be unfriendly and impatient. But I go to Maschu for the food, not to chat up the waiter, so this doesn't bother me. This is only the servers - the two guys who cook and work behind the counter (one also sometimes serves) are always friendly and quick to laugh.
