I can go weeks without a fill and they do not charge for EVERYTHING you want done - Like they don't charge extra for reshaping your nails to what you had - which to me is huge, So to me, when you are getting your nails done - part of that is to reshape and clean up your nails? I have been to places when you want your nails reshaped... extra 5.00, when you want to have 1 nail different... extra 5.00 - i went to one place once and they charged for EVERYTING except the air you were breathing in the salon, if they could do that, I am sure they would have! My mother came in every couple of weeks. She was a loyal costumer. So when it came time for my sister to get her prom nails done my mom said why don't you go here. Well that turned out horribly. First off they sat my sister down with someone who does gel when she asked for acrylic. First red flag. Then they started cutting her nails shorter when she told them to stop cutting them she didn't want them short they just kept going. Then the acrylic person came over and got it all over her skin which if you know anything about acrylic is bad because if you repeatedly get it on your skin you can develop and allergic reaction to it and you can't get acrylic done ever again. It was so janky that they painted it pink. You don't do that with acrylic my sister was like ok just stop this isn't what I want I'm leaving. Not only did they charge her 39 dollars for a horrible job they tried to charge her more for color even though the color they used was to fix their mistakes. She wanted a French tip and instead she came out crying because of how badly they treated her. They were rude and my father had to call just so they would take off the color charge. Instead of a fun experience and be excited for prom my little sister is so sad. I went back in to ask for my money back and I was nice but stern. They said no we don't do refunds and he tried to straight up lie to me about what happened and he was rude to me too. To the people who were getting their nails done in there who didn't stand up for her shame on you for watching and judging. How would you feel if that happened to you. To the people who work there where do you get off on being horrible to other people and not even being kind. You not only lost her business but my mother who comes in every two weeks. First time to this establishment & was impressed with the very large area, cleanliness. It had soft playing music, tv's on. I felt very comfortable walking in & being helped. Kevin took his time and did a great job cleaning up my nails after not having been able to get done in 3 weeks. He was sensitive, gentle & careful. I was very pleased all around. I went back 2nd time & just as pleased. My nails look great. It is a very relaxing experience for me. And my favorite, there isn't a lot of chatter. I was recommended to Chocolate Spa and love it. I made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure. One would assume time would be allotted for me. I was shown to the foot soak and I explained I had gel polish on my fingers and toes. The gentleman who waited on me acted like I had inconvenienced him. He proceeded to remove the polish on my toes with a dremel and wrapped my nails with acetone soaked cotton and foil. I wanted regular polish on my toes and I handed him my color choice. My feet soaked for less than three minutes and no time was spent using a pumice on the bottoms. I asked him if he could even out my toenails as they were all uneven. Again, he acted totally inconvenienced. My fingers never touched water before he proceeded with my manicure. Again, I had to ask him to even up my fingernails and he continued giving me attitude. Okay, I'm not one to make a scene. I let him finish, paid my bill and left, never to return. If an appointment is booked, time should be set aside for the client. This man was rushed and continued to act aggravated. Not a great experience! Made an appointment for a pedicure and waited a good 10-15 minutes before anyone helped me (and it was right when they opened). Asked for a regular gel pedicure and still had calluses on the bottom of my feet. The pedicurist that helped me wasn't wearing gloves and then gave me an attitude when I asked him to put them on. He poked an injured toe unnecessarily and he yanked my foot closer to him aggressively instead of just moving the electrical chair forward. I went in for a regular pedicure ($28) and SNS over my real nails ($43) + $1 to fix a broken nail. Pedicure was rushed, didn't even cut my cuticles and I had to walk the woman through on how to finish cutting the sides of all the toenails. She literally left the sides of my toenail long! Horrible, sloppy paint job on my toes, didn't even scrub my feet or apply lotion. There were people in the pedicure chairs before me and I was done way before them. A 15 minute pedicure. Wasted my money! I could've done that at home myself. My nails were supposed to be white SNS, the woman kept brushing the excess powder with a pink brush, leaving pink residue on my white nails!!! She had to apply more SNS to cover that up. She didn't cover the entire nail with the powder so I have exposed nail on the sides with no color--which she then tried to cut off and that was painful!! I explained to the man at the front desk, he said "sorry" then my nail tech handed me the stub to pay. I paid because I just wanted to leave. I paid $72 for something that I could've don't myself and probably would've been way better than the horrible nails I walked out of Chocolate Spa with. This evening I arrived at 6:30 asking for a "regular" pedicure God Forbid I wanted a spa pedicure. I was done within 15 minutes and clearly didn't get a full pedicure, no foot massage either. Today was my first time at this spa and I was happy to be here seeing the loveliness of the spa. Entering the spa I was not greeted and was asked to pick a color. (Did not know where to pick a color since it was my first time at this facility). I waited for 15 minutes and did not get the color I wanted since they charge for certain color extra,wow!! I wasn't happy with that! I asked for UV CLEAR GEL. The tech decided he wanted to put pink on me. I told the tech 3 times a wanted clear. He seem to get annoyed I wanted the clear UV clear instead of the pink. As he proceeds to do my nails I see that he is not putting the gel nail polish close to the nail. (I know having done nails for years in different places that your polish won't last two weeks doing that!) I did not say anything knowing he (The tech) was annoyed with me already. As he was finishing up my nails I asked him to cut my cuticles and he said I didn't need it, WOW! Now time for my gel pedi. They assigned me to another tech person. This tech hands me a sheet with exorbit spa prices. I decided I only want a regular pedi since I was annoyed already with my nails. I don't think he took care of me 15 mins before he was finished with my pedi. I never had a pedi that someone removes cuticles from only three toes and barely touch my foot with the callus buffer. I saw that he was annoyed as well. Is it because I didn't buy one of those expensive spa deals? As he was putting the polish on my feet I see him slamming things as well. Now I'm getting annoyed. I haven't had a spa day in years due to covid now i'm treated in this manner! Wow!! I don't know if I want to yell or cry at his point! i'm usually not the type of person to bash a small business but this was ridiculous. i've been here 5+ times for spa pedicures which were always good so i thought why not get a full set here too. i've always been a good customer to them and have always tipped very well as i know how it is to work in the service industry. i make my appointment for a french full set. when i get there they asked me to pick a color and i told him french. they soak off my previous gel for 20 minutes and then start. he does my nails and the acrylic was laid uneven and bulky but i'm not one to judge anything can be fixed w a file. he asked if the shape was good and i told him i wanted tapered square and they were very wide. he tried to file them more and asked if they were ok i said sure bc it's didn't look too bad. he starts going the french and i can already tell this is gonna be bad but i have serious anxiety and hate complaining so i'm like it's ok i can just repaint them whatever. it was very apparent that he was rushing because someone was waiting for him to start them. i go home and repaint them and it's very apparent that it wasn't just the polish that was bad it was the shape too. there was no hiding it. so i repaint them and go abt my night. i go against my anxiety and call the next day on my lunch and tell them i had gotten my nails done the day prior and it wasn't to my liking and if they can fix them. they said that wasn't a problem and to come in when i got out of work. i go in and told them i was there for them to fix my nails. i show them i had repainted them w gel (because that's all i have @ home) but i showed them pics from the day before and the shape was still the same. they started talking to eachother and said they could fix it for $27. usually i'm not a person to argue i'll usually just deal with it but i was confused as to why i had to pay for them to fix their mistakes? he said for gel and to fill and reshape, i didn't get gel originally and told him i wanted regular polish. i said why do i need a full when i just got them done yesterday and paid $55 not including tip of $13 (which i paid prior to them painting my nails). i didn't understand and we kept going back and fourth. they called the manager who wasn't there at the moment and he told them it's $15 for reg polish and $27 for gel if i wanted them to fix it. we agreed on reg polish for $15 and as i sat down him and another coworker ambushed me again to get gel i got overwhelmed and caved. the guy Aaron was very rude and short. it's not my fault one of his coworkers butchered my nails. he did a good job but it came with a attitude when i asked if he could do a certain design or french. he said no for both. (mind you i paid $10 extra for french the previous set). i would never be mad about the nails being bad in the first place. everything is fixable. but my reason for the 2 stars is the way the business went about resolving the issue, if i hadn't been here multiple times prior to this experience i'd be 1 star but the. see the attached photos and tell me if i'm buggin for feeling like i shouldn't have had to pay for them to fix it one day later. i know it usually doesn't matter if one customer never goes here again but i use to recommend this spot but i won't be going back unfortunately. read more

Rating is purely about the owner...I have been going here since I moved to the area 2 years ago and was happy. Over the past few months I have seen several upset customers each time I was there. I still kept going because I like how Kevin does my gel fills and Paella does my toes. I called ahead and scheduled with Kevin and told the owner I also wanted a pedi with Paella. He said just tell him when I get there. Done. Did that. Kevin does my nails now its time for a pedi with Paella. The owner had her with someone else (not an appt) and now its a 30 minute wait for me. I did not want to go to someone else, when you find someone who does what you like, you stick with it. I mentioned to him I had said I prefer Paella and I'll come another time. He blamed Paella for not telling him I was waiting, I politely said, I don't believe you ever told her and isn't your job to manage when and who they are working with? He had been outside, sitting on the couch and on his phone so I know he didn't have the time to tell her anything. When I tried to speak with him about it and ask why the change in service I have seen, he literally kept his face in his cell phone playing a game and would not acknowledge anything. I wasn't yelling, was speaking in a calm normal tone of voice. Even after Kevin tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention, he still kept his phone in his game. Is this the culture within these businesses now? To be so blatantly disrespectful to their customers who pay for the services that keep their lights on? Ugh!!!! On to the next nail salon.
