The staff are very friendly but clearly very understaffed. I suggest not to take your vehicle to this Midas location if your having major problems with your vehicle. They will have it sit for days only to tell you the same thing over and over again (we're still diagnosing it and will call you back with a status), only having YOU to continue to call them daily with a status. I had my vehicle towed from this place, my friends husband was able to find the issue within ONE day and replace the part with a very reasonable price. read more

The vehicle service is satisfactory, but the quality of customer service has declined over the years. I recall a mechanic named Freddie, who provided excellent customer service. He managed the front of the store and took the time to explain in detail what was happening with your vehicle. Currently, there is an employee named Matt who appears slow and disinterested in delivering good customer service. He seems more focused on answering phone calls than attending to customers in the lobby. He also quoted me different labor prices when I went and purchased my own parts... My Toyota Rav 4 had breaks that really needed changing, as well as needing a oil change, and the guys over at Midas made the process seamless. They even allowed me to come into the garage and see where the damage had happened with my back breaks, which made me feel like I was genuinely part of the process and also provided a learning opportunity for me. Sometimes I get worried going to mechanics as a female because I've felt many times that I was getting ripped off for minor services like a oil change, but I didn't feel that way here. I requested an oil change and assistance with mounting my front license plate. After waiting over an hour, the oil change was completed and when my vehicle was returned to me, there was no front license plate mounted. Though I followed all instructions by putting the license plate in the passenger seat and putting on the service request that I wanted my license plate mounted, the front desk attendant told me that they had "forgotten" to do so. I was very disappointed at having waited so long with no update only to discover that only one of my requests had been fulfilled. read more

Was on a road trip and our camper broke down, we limped to this Midas and they were able to lift it up and diagnose the issue right away. The guys were great and we were back on the road in no time for alot cheaper than I thought. This was also on a Friday before a holiday weekend and they were still able to fix it. I was charged $617 for simple caliber and rotary work. When I called my family mechanics shop they charged $360. I immediately called to tell them no need to work on job they already started and said "We can't put the car back together". I believe they started before I gave consent. awful! i made a appointment for 7am. I walked in the door at 7:03 and waited in line for 5 minutes. When I got to the counter, the guy told me I was late and had to wait for 1 1/2 hours! I love this place. My primary care mechanic has taken care of my 1992 rusted underbody car for over 7 years - and would candidly tell me I should get a new car. But even after telling me that, he would fix my car, and my car and I would be happily on our way. I have always been treated well here, and even though I have moved and it is now a bit out of my way to bring my (newer) car here for service, I continue to do so - because of the excellent service provided by my primary care mechanic! read more

i patronized midas on allentown road as a customer to have leaking car fluids problems repaired. i had no other problems with my car at that time. the shop manager recommended, (and i trusted his recommendation), and agreed to replaced my original motor with a used motor-- (in an effort, as he said, "to minimize future potential unforseen problems". however, this was a major mistake that introduce significant additional leaking motor problems/leaks, and midas introduced transmission problems while replacing the motor that i was not experiencing. in other words, the installed used motor had major leaking problems itself, and now new transmission problems were introduced. so, i was stuck with the more leaking problems that i never started with and out of over $4556.31, and with major transmission problems now. for three months i kept returning to midas with the issues and pictures as proff of the leaks and other issues in my driveway of the problems midas bestowed upon me. this was very frustrating and time consuming dealing with midas and this unskilled and unprofessional work. midas sent me to a transmission business in waldorf, md, who said "tell midas to recheck their work", because they had crossed more than crossed wires up on my g20 transmission. midas indicated on a receipt that the transmission was replaced with a used transmission and indicated on the receipt that the service engine light is on due to the transmisison issue. this transmission replacement was very hard to believe, especially since midas could never resolve the transmission issue that they caused with the motor replacement. ultimately, i stopped patronizing this midas on allentown road, because of trust, poor mechanic skills, and service. i patronized another automotive repair business to correct the leaking problems midas introduced with the motor replacement. to correct the service engine light, this repair facility informed me that i need a transmission to repair the service engine light. needless to say, i am very very displeased after paying thousands of dollars and trusting my car care and repair needs with this midas business establishment! i will never patronize this midas again. i would like to give it zero stars if possible. read more
