Made an appointment for May 19 for a tire swap and wheel alignment. I got a confirmation email and…read morewhen I got there they had no idea and stated that they phoned me. While I front of them I showed them I had not received the phone call and they looked at me like they didn't give a shit. I will not be using them or recommending anyone get their service.

In the summer of 2020, my 2011 Ram 1500 developed a ticking noise from the engine, after doing some research I discovered that it was quite common for certain exhaust manifold bolts or studs to break on the 5.7 Hemi. In August of 2020 I was away at work, I asked my wife if she would take my truck into Trail Tire and let them have a look and confirm the noise issue, and they did. They called her back with the estimate and she told them to go ahead with the repair. My wife was called later and told the repair was complete and she could come in pay the invoice and take the truck home. Not one word of any problems or issues was discussed or relayed. Early summer 2021, the noise returned (approximately 10,000km later) and because I was busy with work again, I put off having the truck taken in. On September 24, 2021 I was able to get my truck in and have the regular servicing done at my local Ram dealer. I asked them to investigate the noise and told them my suspicion, which they confirmed and gave me a very high quote for the repair. At this point I thought about taking it back to Trail Tire, but again life got busy, and I put that situation on hold, the truck ran fine, it just had an annoying ticking noise which I knew what it was. I did a bunch of research and found a small local independent shop in the Sherwood Park community that was highly recommended, had a great customer approval rating and reviews. I got my truck booked in for an estimate on February 18, 2022 and they again confirmed the exhaust manifold bolt issue, they called me back with the repair estimate, and I gave them the go ahead. Not even a couple of hours later I received another call from the shop asking if I had a similar repair done someplace else, I replied yes as a matter a fact, why are you asking? Well, what they discovered not only shocked and upset me, it absolutely disgusted me. After dismantling the area to be repaired, they found a piece of extraction tool broken off in what remained of one bolt, and broken piece of a drill bit as well, and to top things off they basically tried to glue it back together with muffler cement. They said this was now a straight time repair because they had to fix the botched repair attempt that Trail Tire had made. I thought about having them reassemble the truck, pay them for their time and take it back to Trail Tire, but why or how in the world could I trust Trail Tire after this fraudulent business practice had now surfaced. This is a quote " Evidence of previous repair muffler cement used in area. Attempted to extract the broken bolt using welding method, unsuccessful. Attempted to drill out broken bolt, unsuccessful due to broken tap or extractor in hole. Previous repair was never actually completed successfully. Die grind around bolt and found extractor and drill bit inside broken bolt. Extract extractor, drill bit and remainder of old bolt. Install HELI-COIL and perform remainder of the repair". I then called Trail Tire and asked if they could look up the invoice for the attempted repair that they had made, he found it. I then explained the situation, he said bring the truck back to them, I said the other shop had the truck disassembled and expressed what I thought about their business and whomever was involved with this completely disgraceful, unprofessional, and fraudulent so-called repair. Came back and spoke with the manager at approximately 13:15 on February 22, and was told there was nothing they were going to do, and that I should have brought the truck back to them, again why would I do that when they didn't even repair it in the first place, said nothing of any issues, but had no problem taking our money. Whomever the so-called mechanic or mechanics that were responsible for this, should have their licences revoked. And actually, this entire business should be investigated. Trail Tire is an absolute disgrace to the community of Sherwood Park
