Ignore $19.99 oil change it's a ploy. If you have larger than 4 cylinder they refuse to do the $19.99 oil change and also state that your vehicle requires full synthetic even though manufacturer states otherwise. Told me to go back to previous oil change place essentially refusing to do the oil change I requested. Bait and switch. This company tries to rip people off. Came in on Saturday August 1. They quoted me $223 for a simple cutout and weld in resonator pipe that I bought and was exact dimensions at the stock midpipe!!! So it's gonna take 2 hours at $111 an hour? And the service did not require 3 hours. How do I know you may ask?! I am a mechanic in the military. However I am not allowed to weld in my apartment complex. When I said no and I'll take my car back the front counter guy and all the employees there decided to sit there and shake their heads since I know exactly what services were required and how long it should take. So the front counter guy with slicked back hair smugly said good luck with your car sir. Well guess what I took it down to martinez tire and muffler shop and he did it in 45 minutes full disassemble and re assemble in front of me and charged me $70 for solid mig welds that look awesome. I won't ever refer my family, friends or my military co-workers to this place. There are better places for better prices with better employees. If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

Came here for an oil change and it turned into a pain. I walked in telling the worker that I knew nothing about cars. I do this to see if they will try to pull a fast one on me. The guy then told me that I'll be needing an engine flush along with my oil change due to my vehicle reaching 100,000 miles. I already knew that was gonna happen so I agreed. After I agreed the staff was being very polite and offering food to lower my guard. The guy called me over and handed me my bill. They all had a straight face on. I looked at the damage and it was over $600. I pulled out my card to pay and they all looked away in hopes that I don't notice all the discrepancies on my bill. Sure enough I stop and ask question. Why am I being charged for steering wheel fluid and services that I didn't agree to? The worker explained that I needed steering wheel fluid because it was low. I then told him that my vehicle was electric steering. His face looked surprised and he asked another worker about the bill. They returned and told me they forgot to take off the discounts for the service they provided. The Bill went from $600 to $400. I was told that this facility will rip off people living in the area. I will not be coming back to this location. I will be telling people to stay away or be sure to ask questions about their service. read more

Do not take your vehicle here. I took my pickup in for some front end repair, which I was assured they could do. After about $900 in repairs it was no better. The manager at the time felt like he owed me something back, so he gave me a few coupons for free oil changes. I went to use my last one today but was denied. I believe it was the manager of the branch I was dealing with and he didn't want to help at all. He flat out denied it. This branch from day one has been poorly run. I'll never be back and every chance I get I will talk about how unprofessional they are at this location. read more

DO NOT take your vehicle here!! They will price gouge you! Charged me $530 for a starter that costs $146 online at all major auto parts dealers including the one they told me they buy from. Called to dispute the charge and was told there was a "small mark up". Chris, the manager will not return my emails or calls. Even sent an email with the links to the same model number they installed and no response. I even heard a tech ordering the part for my truck on the phone and laughed at the vendor charging him $225 and asked for a discount. All while I was waiting in the lobby. He told me they would "throw the oil change if for free". I asked about the "free" tire rotation, said it would happen, it didn't. Didn't even set my oil life meter back to 100%, not even confirmed I got an oil change. I repeat - DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE!!! read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLES TO THIS MIDAS! They are charging for services to be done on cars and NOT doing the work. Had my suspicions on my last visit, but my visit yesterday confirmed it. We went there out of convenience, but when it comes to the quality, safety and reliability of the vehicles we drive everyday, I cannot recommend or return to this location. Drove to this location and got some unexpected news...for the first time ever owning my car I felt that I was getting honest feedback...I felt a little shimmy in the car and preparing for the worst the staff informed me that I was ok and no need to replace anything.....they were truly professionals and there was no charge for this inspection. Took my car here for a check engine diagnosis a few months back. Unfortunately, when I picked up my car, it was still running rough. They even kept if for a few more days to try to figure it out but no luck. I had no choice but to pay the over $800 bill and have the car towed to the dealership. After that, I contacted Midas Consumer Relations who assigned not one, but two, regional managers to assist me to try to get some of my money back but that fell on deaf ears as neither one ever officially responded with a proper explanation of why not receiving a full or partial refund or no refund at all. Only when I sent a letter to the President of Midas, I got a reply back from a TBC paralegal that stated "Midas International, LLC, is a Franchise and does not own or control the store..." and gave me the name and address of a company off I-10. And no one knew this before when I first contacted Midas? I have learned my lesson to where NOT to take my car next time for a check engine light or any other repair or oil change for that matter! read more

Midas at 26959 Highway 281. These people put my life in jeopardy and refused to make it right. I got the rear brakes changed on my Chevy Silverado. The next day I drove the truck across town. When I arrived, my rear wheels were too hot to touch, they were smoking, and there was a foul odor coming from them. All the lug nuts on my rear passenger wheel were loose: 1/2" of thread was showing on all of them. Additionally, they had over-serviced the brake fluid, an inch above the full line. They originally said they would tow it back to their shop and fix it. The next day, however, they refused to tow it and fix it, and they refused to give me my money back. They said my calipers were bad and it wasn't their fault. Why didn't they tell me about bad calipers at the time they changed my brakes?! They also claimed they didn't service the brake fluid. Given that we had not touched the brake fluid in 2 years, I think it was probably low before I brought it in. The owner of this shop never took responsibility for any of these horrible safety mistakes. Please take important auto work elsewhere. read more
