I needed my driver's door window regulator replaced in the middle of an epic journey with my son. I did not bring a drill to drill out the damn rivets ( thanks Ford ), and brought one that I bought to install for me. The job was done well, minus to greasy fingerprints all over the inside of my Van. A fair price was charged. Betty B and Eddie Boy were very friendly. We were at Sonic just down the street from Midas.. I called to get a price on an Oil change for my Ram 2500 Diesel. The young lady told me that it could be expensive and over $200 "and something". She didn't seem interested enough to look up a price. It's very unprofessional to not be able to give a customer a price. That or incompetent. We have to have this done ASAP as we are traveling the country and leaving for Suiox City in 2 days. read more

I was hearing a sound like a rubbing from a tire. I just wanted it checked since I didn't want to cause any damage. They told me to make an appointment and come back the next day. So I did. The next day I stood waiting it took awhile for someone to even greet me. Finally the new owner did. They had my car for two hours while I sat and waited. All I needed was the one tire checked. They finally came out and started telling me my car needed rear shocks, brakes or had a leak. It was a scam. I had just had my car serviced a few weeks earlier at my normal place and they never mentioned anything wrong. I declined service. Then took my car back to my normal place and had it checked. My car was fine. Don't trust the new owners husband and wife scammers. read more

If I could give the place more than 5 stars I definitely would !! We are on a cross country trip and we heard a loud scraping noise while up by Mt. Rushmore. Thought it was the brakes, so called around about 7 different truck and motor home places trying to find a place to take it to get checked out, none of them had the time to look at it. Very disappointing. Called Midas and they said bring it on down !! We had it towed in after hours and Betty B. Was there and took the keys and said they'd check it in the morning.. so we grabbed a couple of rooms for the night and settled in at the Days inn around the corner.. Got up in the morning and walked some of our luggage over there so we didn't have to do it later, and lo and behold there was our driveline with a new carrier bearing laying there ready to be installed.. it wasn't the brakes after all, the carrier bearing went out on the driveline and needed replacement . They had sent it to a shop and it was back already !! At 10 am !! Talked to the lead mechanic Carl, and he said it'd be back in and ready to go shortly. And proceeded to install it ! Went in and talked to the receptionist Betty B. And she is an amazing accomplished woman ! She's got a very interesting article about her in a magazine she shared with us. Has had a very accomplished and blessed life , very , very friendly !! Carl had the driveline back in in no time at all and talked with us about motorcycles and his grandsons love of riding on his , he is a very friendly gentleman as well , and is a motorcycle fabricator in the winter, and they work on motorcycles there too ! I would highly recommend this place to anyone than needs anything repaired!! Motorcycles, motor homes, cars, trucks, vans , whatever! Very friendly ,honest establishment ! We were driving through Bear Country on the first leg of a major road trip when we heard strange honking noises from the front end of our CRV. Called several places in Rapid City to get it looked at at 4:30pm. No one could see us for several days except this great place! They found several things that they said had to be fixed or we'd not be able to get where we were going. They lent us a car(thank heavens!) and we spent the night and were able to tour around the area as planned. We picked up our car with the repairs completed sooner than expected. They found that some things weren't done correctly in Fort Collins when we had had it looked at and repaired before our trip. These folks were so nice, reasonable and fast that we were amazed! Hi. I'm a diy mechanic and I'm I'm extremely picky on things that have to do with my car or my loved ones. My Mom took her jeep to the midas in rapid city West side to have a tailpipe welded on to her muffler as it has rusted away. They told her it would be 140.00 which is extremely high if you ask me. She agreed to the cost and they said it would take a couple hours. She arrived 2 hours later and it wasn't done. The excuse for not having it done was they didn't have any welding rods. They told her she had to bring it back. So she did and he welded it on there in a way that looked like a 10 year old kid had done the welds terrible!! Then wanted more money!! Then it made noises like it was hitting the frame underneath the car. She then took it to Exhaust Pros where they showed her what a terrible job Midas had done. Then they cut all the Midas crap off there and fixed it the right way for 65.00. Just because you seen a Midas commercial on TV doesn't mean they're trust worthy! Cal3000gt read more
