This shop is so honest. I (thought I) was experiencing some weird hiccups in my car's engine, and wondered if it was a timing chain issue. I didn't hear or feel anything odd on the day I brought the vehicle in, and there's never been a check engine light on. Leo and his team did a couple test drives to try to duplicate the issue I was experiencing. They couldn't find anything, and Leo sent me home with a list of questions and suggestions to pay attention to if the sound/hiccups return. They sent me away at no charge, but I tipped him $10 for the trouble. If there's an issue in the future, I'm bringing my car back to this Midas location. read more

Had a vehicle towed here from another Midas that had good compression but was running rough up to 1500 rpm and smooth after. They advised it was a PCM. The vehicle was towed in low on fluids but all test showed it was good according to Midas tech. Had it towed from Midas to Mazda to be advised due to Midas tech leaving bolts out cutting a ground wire and not sure what else engine now has 4 dead cylinders. DM James Robinson feels that discounting the price for me now having to replace an engine should be ok. I wouldn't trust shop. I have put on social media and have been messaged by multiple people with similar situations. Be careful. They somehow keep clearing my review it seems. Took my car in to get my brakes and rotors replaced. A bit after I dropped my car off, they called to tell me I also needed new brake lines and new calipers on the front to the tune of $1,800. As a woman, this kind of thing happens a lot. I decided to take it elsewhere. I found an awesome mechanic who was upfront and honest and all in I paid less than $700. He was really confused as to why I would have been advised on new brake lines as the existing are in perfect condition. The calipers were also in perfect condition with zero reason to replace them. He was shocked that they wanted to take me for an $1,100 ride and agreed that had my husband dropped my car off, we likely never would have received that phone call. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Had a slow leak and they had my tire patched in under a half an hour start to finish. Had been there for other minor services in past couple years and have always gotten honest work at an honest price. Was not expecting the patch to be free but they said no charge. They say people usually only do reviews if they're bad... well here's a bad one. It's long but the moral of the story is, go somewhere else. First, I went to this Midas for an oil change. It was around 330pm so by the time they were done it was close to close time. I left with my vehicle and noticed immediately it was violently shaking. Called and spoke to the manager and he said, "oh it's just the wear on the tires being uneven, come back tomorrow and we will put them back the way they were." I said is it safe to drive on and he said, "YES." I work third shift so I couldn't go back the next day. I decided to just go get new tires closer to where I live. The service man called me and said he was shocked someone put those tires back on my car and let me drive away. The tread was one bump in the road away from splitting and causing an accident. *See pics* I can only assume the Midas service people were in a hurry to close shop. Unbelievable they wouldn't just try and sell me new tires. Had they shown me the tread and said it was bad I would have purchased two new tires immediately. I called immediately and spoke to Steve, the store manager. He apologized and offered a free oil change. Small price to pay for letting someone leave with such unsafe tires but whatever. Fast forward about 4 months ago I call Steve to see if he will still honor the oil change. He said yes so I drive all the way to Powell to have it done. I left to get lunch and when I returned to pick up my vehicle I noticed IMMEDIATELY there was a new gash in my seat. *see pics* At first I thought it was on purpose and was livid. Then I realized someone must have had something in their pocket and it tore my seat. He tried to say no way anyone there did it and it's not possible they had something in their pockets. He even tried to say it was wear and tear. You could still see the fresh flakes of vinyl that had just been torn. Had it been wear they would have flaked off already... He eventually says fine, he will fix the issue. He told me to get an estimate. Note: I had just cleaned my entire car the day before, seats, dash and everything. I would have noticed a giant slit on my seat. I spent hours upon hours myself trying to find the cheapest possible route for fixing the seat. I went to their recommended shops and repair man and even called junkyards looking for a seat. I finally get a repair man to find a seat and as soon as I give the estimate to Steve he backs out. I said I'm not letting this go and his exact words to me are, "of course you won't, people who try and get things for free usually don't let things go." First off, STEVE, I can afford to fix this seat 100 times over if I wanted to and I got a brand new car since this happened. It's the PRINCIPLE. Second, don't make ME waste my time and effort to back out of your WORD. I immediately called corporate. They said someone would call me back. Three weeks later I have no call so I call back to be told my case was closed and no one would fix it. Nice that no one called to let me know . Finally get ahold of the regional manager, James and he said he would only pay like $50 to fix it knowing I already tried that route (his own repair guy) and no one is willing to repair it. He never called me to tell me he couldn't find anyone either. What a joke. This shop is inept and dishonest. If you value your safety and sanity go elsewhere. read more

I made an appointment online and they got my car right in for my oil change. I'd requested an oil change and to change my brake pads, not because they were making noise but because I assumed it was just time to change them. They could have just done what I asked and charged me for it but instead they confirmed I wasn't hearing or experiencing anything odd in the handling of my car and then let me know I still had a decent amount of life left in my pads. Honesty provides value. So this Midas location became a quick call to see if a job vould be done after another shop dropped the ball. The work was for a custom job and it seemed they had an open window to look the job over and make a quote. So I was at work. Coordinating with my spouse and shops around the area with openings. Midas made the cut. Not only was Steve courteous, he was helpful, and best of they had a big opening. So she drove there with my car for them to look it over. After arriving they got the car in quite fast. Once they reviewed the car and work to be done they called me. I was disappointed to find out they couldn't do the work as I wanted it done that day since the other shop dropped the ball. But they recommended a specific shop that would be able to do the work. Steven apologized about it and said we could have attempted it but it would have been pushing the envelope and believed the work should be done right. So even though they couldn't render the service I requested and they do the service I requested I still give them a five star for the integrity, and character Steve displayed with this customer. read more

I would recommend THIS Midas to all my Lady friends. I'm a Healthcare Professional who has no idea what was wrong with my RAV4. I have been putting off going to a mechanic because I was worried I would not be able to explain what was going on with my car. Being a Single Lady, I had no idea what shop to trust and was concerned I'd be taken advantage of and pay for something I didn't need. That couldn't be further from the truth! I told Travis to check my Wheel Bearings, Rotors, Calipers, Suspension and anything else to make sure I would be safe traveling to Colorado. They spent over two hours inspecting my car and found that all I needed was New Tires. I didn't rotate my tires and they were cupped pretty badly. Travis , The Manager , I believe . actually brought the tire into the waiting room to show me and explain what the problem was. After calling all around today to find the best deal on a Full Synthetic Oil Change for my Jeep, I found Midas in Powell. I called the Manager and was told the oil change would be 49.99 and the Tire Rotation was included in the cost. I saved about $ 30 bucks today and will be back for the next oil change as they were very nice and beat everyone's price on the Full Synthetic Oil Change. I called for prices to fix my AC. They quoted me $59 to check it and $119 if they had to add Freon to which the $59 would be applied. I made the appointment and brought my car. At that point they told me it would be $138 if they added Freon. I told them I was quoted $119 and they said ok we'll honor that. After they fixed it they gave me a bill for the $119 plus they added almost $10 for shop supplies. The only supply they could have had was a paper towel and if there was to be an additional charge over what I was quoted I should have been made aware if that before hand. $10 isn't a lot and I decided that if they needed it that bad they could have it but I won't be back. It's very important to me that I be able to totally trust my mechanic and this told me I can't trust them. I have been going to this Powell service center for many years. I have a 2002 vehicle and they always recommend only what must be done to keep it running well. I will receive recommendations from the dealership of work needed on the car, but when I take the recommendations to Midas, they review the list and only fix what's needed AT a much lower price. read more

Took my car to Midas to get a balance and alignment on the weekend because the regular shop I go to (J &P autoworks) isn't open on weekends. They charged me and said they performed the service. When i took it to an alignment specialist after having issues with the car still, they found only one weight on the wheels and my car totally out of balance and found it physically impossible to align my tires without breaking my tie rod. Midas in Powell is the biggest rip off and won't perform the services you ask. Totally dishonest and absolute scammers. How this shop is still in business I have no idea. Go to Nelson Frame and Axle, or J & P auto works for reputable services, don't pay for a service you will not get. read more

This Midas is a 1 star at best. I have taken my car there several times for oil changes and tire rotations. And once again, they did not rotate my tires or top of fluids. It's irritating because I specifically ask for this every time. And I shouldn't have to. This is after I dropped off my car for an oil change and finally got the call about 4.5 hours later that it was done... I was going to wait on it but was told they will just call when it was ready. Apparently I need new brakes... but how can you tell what my brakes are at if you didn't rotate my tires? read more

Don't go here, very untrustworthy. They cross threaded 2 lugs and blamed me for it Took my car in for a tire rotation and to repair a tire with a slow leak. When I made the appointment I confirmed since I purchased the tires there, there would be no charge for the rotation or the leak (if they could repair it). When picking up, they tried to charge me for both, blamed the computer for losing the record of my tire purchase (good thing I had a paper copy). When I got home, I started the job to replace my front breaks. On one tire, 2 lugs were not coming off at all. I ended up shearing one bolt after getting the lug only half way off. a second lug took all my might to get off but it wouldn't go back on. When I called the shop, the Steve said he watched the mechanic finger tighten every lug per requirements so there's no way the issue was from them. He said it had to be my mistake and that he feels like I was setting him up. He said he would give me a discount and only charge me $78 to replace the 2 studs. Really? I had to pay $78 for their mistake. I told him if they did everything right then why were 2 lugs cross threaded, he said again, it had to be something I did. I can't believe this is how it ended, I though for sure he would at one point say, yea it had to be our mistake. Very disappointing and upsetting experience. read more

Manager did not explain charges no verbal or written estimate until after services performed, did not provide or offer to provide replaced parts (non core parts must be offerred for returned under state law). Check engine light was not corrected after being charged over $500 for $50 part service took 3 hour longer than told. Service manger comes acrooss as everyone buddy but my experience is don't beleive a thing said, ask for all documentation in advance. New location for Midas but buyer beware. Should have taken vehicle to Lexus problem would have been corrected now out $500 and still on way back to Lexus. read more

I would not trust these guys at all. I went there to get brake inspection due to abs issue. They gave me a quote for 1600 dollars for new hub assemblies, rotors and pads for all wheels. I just had new rotors and pads less than 4000 miles ago soi new that was not right. Steve the general manager tried today it was safety issue and it had robed one. I continued to tell him no because I knew it was bs. I took to another mechanic and he said all 1600 dollarsworthof parts they recommended were good and he found bad abs motor which fixed the issue.
