I had one of the worst automotive service experiences of my life at Midas located at 160 N Black Horse Pike in Mt. Ephraim, NJ. In September 2024, I brought my car in for a routine oil change and to have the head valve gasket replaced. What should have been a straightforward service turned into a nightmare--after the repair, my car would not start at all. When I returned to address the issue, I was met with complete denial and unhelpful behavior from Nick and Jon, the managers. Not only did they refuse to admit any fault, but they also repeatedly lied about what happened and tried to dodge responsibility. It was incredibly frustrating to be met with such blatant dishonesty when all I wanted was for them to fix the mistake. To make matters worse, I overheard Nick say multiple times that they often receive faulty parts, which raises serious concerns about the quality and safety of the work being done at this location. Not long after my car was damaged, the mechanic who worked on it was fired--a clear sign that something went very wrong, yet they still would not be honest with me about what happened. I also called Midas's corporate customer service line to try and escalate the issue, but they refused to hear me out or take any action. It was clear that customer satisfaction and accountability are not priorities for this company. In the end, my car was left in worse condition than when I brought it in, and I was left with the financial and emotional burden of dealing with the aftermath. Do not take your vehicle to this Midas--or any Midas, for that matter--unless you want to risk serious damage and dishonest service. WARNING: Do Not Bring Your Car Here :WARNING I've given this Midas so many chances.. but they are truly quite terrible. In fact, possibly the worst customer experience I've ever had. I have been trying to work with them for several weeks (months if you include the times I've dropped my car off and NO work was completed) They promised to have my car done in a week. It took them a month to tell me they couldn't do the work. They would never call for updates, I had to call in myself every. Single. Time. They've gone through multiple managers and mechanics. Some just leaving and not coming back. Do not work with Patrick (if he's still going to be there) or Milton Flores who is the regional manager and HR person. It's clearly a toxic work environment and poor business practices. I could go on and on and on. The worst part.. if they had just communicated and taken responsibility from the beginning there would have been no problem at all. Because of their poor communication I have not had my car for nearly a month and they are not doing anything for me despite repeated promises to "make it right". Corporate doesn't care either. Called several times with promises of a return call and I've heard nothing. I should've listened to other reviewers.. do yourself a favor. Avoid the stress and financial hardship and go to literally any other business for repairs: Penn Muffler, Arrow Muffler, etc. so many other respectable businesses to take your hard earned money. Kyle at Mount Ephraim has been so helpful and he consistently goes above and beyond, way out of his way to help me with services for my car and repairs suggested. Initially, Kyle took the time to diagnose an issue with my rear view camera, which he fixed, free of charge after a complimentary consultation. I was also able to get my car serviced easily for a tire patch over driving over a nail! They got me in right away, fixed my tire at an affordable price. Kyle takes the time to thoroughly educate me about car and any questions that I have, which is so kind! Today, I took my car in for a synthetic oil change and I am SO GLAD that I did! He and his very helpful mechanic, Ralph pointed out that I have metal shavings in my oil, on a brand new leased vehicle. I am so glad that he and Ralph told me this! I would have had no clue! I went over to the dealership armed with his suggestions and advice. Not surprisingly, I was blown off at the dealership but Kyle took the time to vouch for me and speak up for me when he got on a call with the dealership service manager! That was so nice of Kyle! Kyle gave me a lot of suggestions. I wish I had complimentary maintenance with Midas rather than the dealership. Kyle should become a mentor to individuals at dealerships and others in the trade to improve their customer service skills like him and his shop!!! I think he would make a great District Manager. Easily the worst experience I've ever had with an automotive store. Came in for an oil change. Was told my car takes six quarts of oil, which was odd because I have had cars that take six before but this car is not one of them. Looked it up on the manufacturer's website while I waited and asked the guy behind the counter why I was being charged for six when it only took five and his entire demeanor changed. He immediately became angry and told me I could "google anything". I tried to explain that it was the manufacturer's website and he completely dismissed me. He raised his voice. He attempted to intimidate me. He tried to encourage the other customers (all men) to agree with him. He's all fired up yelling "ARE YOU SAYING IM WRONG?!". I asked for a manager and he said he was the manager. I asked for his name he wouldn't tell me. He said "you can Google that too". I asked for a corporate number and he told me no. (For someone so confident that he was behaving appropriately, he sure was concerned about revealing his identity.) He made petty remarks about me to every employee that came in from the garage. I am afraid of almost nothing. But this guy was so aggressive and disrespectful, I was sincerely concerned he might become dangerous. He answers the phone a moment later and didn't remember not to say his name, which was Anthony. I have contacted corporate. All I wanted was an explanation. The difference was less than $20. It was not about the money. I just wanted to know why the the manufacturer said it took five quarts and he said six. Absolutely would never set foot in there again and would HIGHLY advise avoiding it, especially if you're a woman. read more

Been taking my car here since I got my car and is always my go to shop. They are fast, and reliable. Instead of coming in and then saying it's one thing, they always check everything else before saying it's 100% something so I can save money and so I don't have to come back with the same issue again. Mickey the manager is awesome, and all the mechanics tell you straight what is wrong, and what will need to be done to fix it. They are the only people I trust with my car so I dunno what these other reviews are about cause I've only gotten the best service here read more

I came into Midas for an oil change. I made an appointment and they took my car right away and it only took about 30 minutes. Staff was friendly and very professional. I used a Groupon that saved me 30$ on a full synthetic oil change which was awesome! Thank you for your prompt service - would definitely reccomend! read more

Few days ago while Driving with my Family, Going to the grocery store, We noticed a Major oil leak, Not being from This area we had nowhere to go we went to few places that all turned us down and said they where busy and Couldn't even recommend us, We where pretty worried considering are 3yr old son was in the car with us, My fiancé called Sam! At This Midas without hesitation he told us to come in took us in immediately and even offered us a ride home, He literally saved us from injury or possibly a serious car accident as we are living in Philly and had to drive back over a bridge to get home etc.. They next Day he asked if I can have the car cleaned under the hood to help his team find the oil leak because his team was down a mechanic and overly busty understanding fully what he was asking I came to clean the car, as I drove the car a mile down the road to get degreaser, Pulling away form the store the belt popped off from all the oil, I contacted Sam he Delegated authority had another mechanic take over the shop, jumped In his car immediately and put on the belt where I was at making sure I got back to the shop safe, after I got back to the shop Sam following behind me pulled up and immediately took another customer home, I will be picking my car up today and the leak is found and Sam and his team saved me Thousands of $ I'm mean wow, This man is Customer service and genuine concern for the needs of his customers is Unmatched, My family can rest assured are needs where meet and are car will be back on the road safe thanks! If I could give 0 stars I would. They are so unprofessional. I called before my appt time to see if they were running in time and Quinton said sure come on up. He checked me in and I said I had an appt at 10am for an oil change takes my keys and I have a seat. One employee says he's close to walking out after they bicker. Then after being there almost an hour I ask if my car will be going back soon. He goes back I can hear yelling about an employee working on his own car taking up a spot in the garage. He comes out I ask for my key back and he tells me my appt was for 1030 not 10 and says I've only been waiting a half hour. Not sure if this man thinks I'm stupid but nothing is adding up if my appt time was a half hour later then I said why would you not correct me or let me know since you're already running behind. Needless to say I asked for my key back bc I now no longer trust them to work on my car. Quinton was very unprofessional. I will never be returning again lost my business. read more

Very unprofessional. Check engine light was on. They charged $167 to run a diagnostic then said we needed an engine flush at over $1000. We had to pay the $167 to get our car back because we were not going to let them rip us off for an engine flush. We then took the car to another mechanic and found our car was low on oil. They filled with oil and did not charge us a thing. Car repaired. Midas could not even diagnose that the car was low on oil. We were a loyal Midas customer for over 10 years, but with the new people running the shop now we will not be back. read more

This has always been my go-to shop for vehicle service for years. However, I am finding that my most recent repair was sub-standard. I chose this shop over another in order to pass inspection, given their lower estimate I thought I could trust. However, I later realized the quote was lower because important aspects of the repair were missing- AFTER I paid $2300. It was even returned to me with a totally dead battery, and I was stranded twice. The car seemed to run more smoothly BEFORE I made any repairs. My car has been in their shop 4-5 time from October - January without being fixed properly. Originally it was one thing, then when that didn't work it was another. I was charged over 1300$ for things that ever even fixed the problem of my car. When asked what they would do about it for me it was well you need to replace this and that. Never was offered compensation for my time or money. Never will I reccomend this place. Jr was nice until I asked why they keep fixing problems that aren't the actual issue then he became rude and had a attitude. You ripped me off took my money and my car still doesn't work. Incompetent and unprofessional. Purchased 3 tires, two were installed backwards and they had to correct. Then they left a sensor on that was off upon my arrival (documented by the Dodge dealer and myself) and blamed it on me! It was nuts. They were confrontational and childish. This is the worst auto-service company ever. I went there to get my tires rotated, and they didn't screw it in properly, so the tire was VERY wobbly. At any moment our car could've went out of control. They basically set me up to crash. They also told us our brake needed to be replaced because it's life was done. This was a lie, because when we went to pep-boys auto service to fix the tires and check the brakes, they said the brakes still had half of their life left. So, they lied to me for money.
