This review is actually for Bisbee Automotive. Fairly certain Brian Bisbee took over the old Midas that used to be here. Needless to say, Brian and his team are the best mechanics around. They are honest, affordable, and take care of their customers. I took my Jeep in last week to be repaired. I needed a new Radiator, Water Pump, and Thermostat because my engine seized. Jeep in Delray quoted me nearly 3K to do the work. I had AAA tow it to Bisbee instead based on the reviews. Not only did I have my Jeep running good as new within a day, the lady who answered my numerous called, Destiny (spelling) was super kind and helpful, even when they were about to close. Brian himself, the owner, greeted me upon pickup and was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and I would not take my Jeep anywhere else. Not only that, the price out the door, including labor, was more than 1,000 less that what Jeep had quoted me. If you live in Coral Springs, Margate, or Coconut Creek definitely use Bisbee for any automotive issues you may have. read more

Disappointed! Helped my friend get her car fixed. Original contact was good but she was told that it would take A WEEK to get the car fixed. We are both working people and there is no way she would be able not to have the car for a week. She complained and the owner apologized about having been rude before and said she could bring the car the following day and the repair would get done. How can somebody be told after complaining that the repair would be done the following day when she was originally said it would take a week???. The estimate was also altered and when we went to pick up the car it was recommended that she also does brake work . After sending two e-mails spaced a day out from each other requesting a quote and not receiving a response. (It's policy on their web sight they will respond within 30 minutes during business hours, all interactions I had wrote them were during business hours). So I called and got an appointment set up the worker Bruce took a deposit for the appointment. When I showed up for the appointment Bruce was not there, after getting my car worked on and taken care of because I did have an appointment. I asked about the security deposit and they said he will send it back. I called the store a day later to get it back and Bruce refused to return the money, he did no service, or work on my car and the deposit was never refunded. He also had horrible customer care when speaking with me. Very disappointed with my service. read more

I typically go to independent mechanics/references. Thought I'd come by and get my shield pan under the car fixed since it was dragging on the road. I needed a quick fix, especially since I didn't want to damage anything under the car. These guys at Midas, left a good first impression. Took care of what I needed on the spot. Worst scam. They tried getting me a new tire for a fix a flat request.(mail in tire). They went ahead and ordered a new tire without consulting with me. Needless to say I refused the service and the clerk got upset. Perfect example of taking advantage of a customer's situation. Took my vehicle to another and they fixed the flat. I had a rattle that Toyota couldn't find but Brian's crew found in in five minutes and the repair was done in an hour for less than $100.00. I will use them from now on. DO NOT bring your vehicle here for repair, especially if you have an intermittent issue. The Service Manager and Techs are okay, but the owner is a money grubbing jerk who only cares about ripping off his customers. I'm an engineer and I understand troubleshooting intermittent symptoms is difficult, however, the customer should not be made to pay for poor troubleshooting skills and a greedy owner. My brother-in-law brought his car in for an electrical issue that causes rough idling and stalling. First, they replaced the Ignition Coil and Spark Plugs, charged him for parts & labor, and sent him on his way. This did not fix the issue because after leaving the shop, the rough idling and stalling continued. He brought the vehicle back the next day. They replaced the Idle/Air control motor and again charged him for parts & labor. After leaving the shop, the vehicle continued to idle rough and stall. The next day, on his way back to the shop, the vehicle stalled in the middle of SR7 and would not start. He then had it towed to shop and was assured by the Service Manager that the cost of the tow would be covered by the shop. Next, they replaced the Crank Shaft Sensor and again charged for parts & labor. He paid the bill and left. After the third attempt, the vehicle now appears to work correctly. As you can image, the unnecessary parts and labor costs have now added up, and the customer is being charged for incompetence. Had they done the troubleshooting correctly in the first place, the bill would be a third of what is is now. Now, to add insult to injury, the greedy owner is calling my brother-in-law and demanding that he pays for the cost of the Tow, even after the Service Manager said the shop would cover the cost. Wow!! Please save your time and money, and have your vehicle serviced somewhere else, where they won't rip you off. read more

I arrived today with brake issues on my Dodge Caravan, Mr. Floyd Woods, was very nice and totally accommodated me with my van, he had his technicians check for other issues that I was told were in need of repair and he checked out the paperwork from the prior tire company I went to 2 days before and found that they totally were trying to charge me for things that did not need to be done. He saved me money and I appreciate his time in helping me. I ended up staying for a few hours and Mr. Flloyd bought me lunch I think he went beyond his job to make sure I was okay and he made sure my van was ready for a road trip I will be taking. All the employees that spoke to me were very courteous and nice. Thanks to everyone I feel safer now taking my trip with no worries. I would recommend Midas to all my family & friends. I had Issues with my car stalling out. Drove over the next morning without an appointment. Car was brought in and troubleshot quickly. I was in a time crunch to take my mom to an appointment at noon. I knew my car also needed tires which I planned to bring back another day. While I waited, Bruce explained the tire options and didn't go for the big high end tire sales pitch but pushed the more practical and economic ones. He figured a way to get it done without me having to have come back and waste another morning. He had his tire guys scramble while the sensors were being changed and everything was fully completed an hour before expected and had plenty of time to make the appointment. This is the place to go to of you need very good, honest, and reliable servicing for your car. read more

Went here to get my tire fixed it seems it had a slow leak and they were the only ones who said they could fix it. Lucky for me they are right next to my office. The receptionist was sweet and helpful and promised my car would be ready after work. This spot seems to be very busy. I paid $25.00 for the repair and my tire is like new. High pressure to have work done immediately. The owner will tell you he doesn't know if he will have time/availability another day OR he will tell you that your car is in such dire need of service it may be dangerous to leave. You will literally feel like you have to argue to just walk out of the store and if you choose to get the work done immediately you will leave with the sinking feeling that you paid too much and he just didn't want you to shop around for a better price. Also don't try using a coupon from the Midas website, they won't honor it. read more

Yesterday around noon I went on the Midas website to book an appointment for an oil change for later in the week. The website said someone would contact me in "30 business minutes." By the next day I still had no response, so I called the shop. When I inquired, the man who answered said it was a matter of a person's interpretation of a "business minute." I responded that I thought 20+ hours was more than ample time and he then said he was just joking. We agreed that I should bring my car over ASAP as the shop is slow on Wednesdays. I had received a coupon from Midas in the mail and presented it at the counter but was told that this shop did not honor them even though they had the shop's address on them. He also didn't care that I had been a customer of this location for 20 years, even before Midas took it over. He then told me that he didn't like the way I was talking to him, and he would not take care of my car and I could go to Jiffy Lube. Never thought that I would be writing a review like this for this repair facility as we have been taking our cars here for 12 years since it was Ed's and have always been very pleased with the service and Lynne could not be more awesome. However, our last two repairs there have been disastrous. Last month we took in our car for new struts and it took them three tries to get it right. They tried putting Monroe struts on our Ford without changing the mounts. It took us taking it back three times for them to finally get the correct parts from Ford and make it right. They did apologize and offered two free oil changes in return for the inconvenience. The very next day the check engine light came on so we took it back and Dino told us we needed a new front catalytic converter. Since we had just paid $1900 for the struts we asked if we could order the part ourselves and just have them install it to save money. They agreed and told us what part to order (even wrote it down for us "Front Bank 1") so we ordered the part from an outside vendor and delivered it to them. Dino called us later to tell us it was the wrong part. So we went in with the paperwork and agreed with Dino that they must have sent us the wrong part. We went straight to Ford to order the "Front" catalytic converter. Once again Dino called to say it was the wrong part. I called Ford and they told me that it is either the Front or the Back and since we told him the Front and that is what we got. When I called Dino back he insisted it was that Front Bank 1 and when I asked him to please double check he returned to tell me it was actually the Rear Converter that we needed. After being without a car for a week, missing two days of work because I had no car, having to pay for Uber to run errands, we asked if they could waive the $145 labor for the inconvenience, and instead of owning up to his mistake, Dino argued with me and blamed Bennett Auto, his own tech, Ford and even us for ordering the wrong part. My husband and I feel that it is a real shame that a long time customer would be treated this way. Lynne apologized to me as I walked out the door but we have lost complete confidence in this place and after 12 years of business will not be taking our cars back here. IN RESPONSE TO RON K'S RESPONSE: We are certainly not doing any name calling and never referred to you as the "bad guys". We were actually very hesitant to even write the review as we have been very satisfied for many years with the work done at Ed's and Lynne has never been anything but kind and professional to us. We are simply stating how disappointed we are that after being a customer for many years, Midas would not own up that they had repeatedly said we needed a Front converter when it was actually the Rear. This caused us to order the incorrect part twice and caused much inconvenience to everyone, especially us as a loyal customer. We didn't think the $145 for labor was a big request for the inconvenience after having no car for a week causing me to miss two days of work. In the end, our total repair costs still came under the $950 quoted by Midas, not $200 more as stated by Ron K (understanding that Midas would have warrantied their work). Respectfully Ron, I know that many customers have great experiences there and will continue to have great service with Midas as we have in the past. It is unfortunate that are last two repairs were not. read more

Do NOT service your vehicle at this shop. Brought it in for a simple oil change. They made a phony list of other technical problems including a leaking power steering pump. The next day the steering wheel makes a squealing noice. I drove a bit. Checked the fluids: the power steering fluid was way below minimum. I had the car re examined by a professional mechanic: nothing wrong with the pump or any of the other issues stated I would rather not get into. Conclusion : someone must have drained some of the power steering fluid. Conveniently they have cameras all around their shop EXCEPT the mechanic bay. Check all fluid levels and examine for leaks before even considering going to this shop. Knowledge is power. read more

I came to Midas on State Road seven in Margate h after getting a quote from Pep Boys which cost was close to $4000 on a brand new Dodge Challenger. As soon as we walked in the door everyone greeted us as if we were a part of their family they were wonderful they looked at the paperwork from Pep Boys and thought the repairsOr overcharged AndThey were willing to reinspect the car free of charge. While we were waiting they even brought us lunch from Jersey Mike's. I have never been treated so well by any customer service people in my life. Sheldon the head mechanic was a professional kept us up-to-date with everything that was going on it was wonderful to work with he's a man with integrity and knows what he's doing everyone there was wonderful it was the best experience I've ever had during a car repair. I will recommend them to everyone I know fantastic treatment and fantastic work on my car half the price that Pep Boys quoted and they actually fix the right stuff which Pep Boys had completely wrong I highly recommend them. Went to this location today with what I thought was a loose tailpipe. They took me promptly at 9:30 a.m., at the time of my appointment. And within 10 minutes came in and told me it wasn't a muffler, but a loose heat guard. They removed it, as it was hanging on and then didn't charge me a penny for their time. Went in for an oil change, got registered, went for a walk and came back 30 minutes later. There were no cars waiting in the parking lot and all the bays were empty. The same one person was waiting in the lobby when I came back that was waiting when I registered. My car had not moved. I asked the guy behind the desk if my car was done and he said no. They were waiting for a body to work on it. They had nobody working there. The guy working the desk had an attitude like "oh well, too bad". I told him he should have told me nobody was able to work on it. He could not have cared less. read more
