The people at Midas have always impressed me with their honesty and professionalism, as well as their kindness. Felix and Jason are particularly wonderful. When I had a car they couldn't work on because it was an old Volvo, they informed me of this before touching it and recommended another place that would do a better job, rather than attempt it and botch it. (They did fix a stuck windshield wiper for us once, though, because it was easy.) I was surprised by their honesty, so when I got a newer Ford that they can do work on, I immediately thought of Midas when I needed an oil change. Service was quick and efficient, and Felix was very nice to chat with while I waited. I came back a few days later because the oil indicator was still complaining, and the guys apologized and fixed it for me. Today I went back because a kind samaritan pointed out that I was dragging something under the car, so they put it up on the lift and discovered it was a broken brush that was unnecessary. I must have damaged it while driving on a dirt road with a lot of rocks. They took it off, showed it to me, and assured me it wasn't necessary for the safety of the car anyway. I definitely recommend them for anything you might need! Their prices are fair, their service is stellar and fast, and their people are honest and friendly. Currently, I'm a student at Umass Amherst and I've done some work with Midas over the past few years. The most expensive repair was the alternator in my 2003 CRV. The work was done properly; however, my battery light popped on a couple times after a year. Manager Mike said he'd work with me if the problem continued and would make it right. However, the problem didn't continue and seems to be fine now. Recently, I've noticed transmission fluid leaking and decided to return to Midas because of the excellent customer service. I've had to do a lot of repairs on the car so I wanted to be notified if the repair would be expensive. He fit me into the schedule on a day and a half notice. The technician went through the car and found the leaking tubes/ sensors. They called me saying that the repair was a bit expensive, so I decided to not do the repairs and they didn't charge me at all for the time to go through it. I really appreciate the honesty, commitment to doing a good job, and the overall way they dealt with my car situation. I came here out of desperation after having an awful experience at the Auto Express down the road. The backstory is, I went in to get an oil change and they left me with an undrivable car with a brake pedal that sank all the way to the floor and no explanation for how it happened besides "your brakes could have gone anytime." Needless to say, I was stuck. The manager, Mike, was so understanding of my frustration and predicament and took the time to listen and validate my concerns. He brought me in to the garage and walked through every part my brakes and their function, and was very forthright about the work that needs to be done. This Midas will not try to upsell you on things you don't need. He knew that I was in a tough spot and having a bad day and paid for a Lyft so I can get to where I needed to go. They were able to fix my car, and bled my brake lines for free when I realized my brake pedal was still a bit funky, which fixed the issue. I am one happy customer. My '96 Civic, with 250K miles on it started to sputter at stoplights. Then it was hesitating when I accelerated. The final straw was when it sputtered and choked while climbing the hill my way home one night. I am well aware that any mileage I get out of this car now is a bonus, so every time I bring it in to a mechanic, I hold my breath. At first, Jack thought the issue was an after-market hose that didn't fit properly and was therefore leaking. The hose was replaced, but the problem persisted. He called me and told me to save me a trip. He ended up keeping the car an extra day, which wasn't a huge issue for me, but the problem was fixed (faulty wiring leading to the spark plug). The car runs like new!!! Fabulous!!! Best of all - the price was very reasonable! And MIdas is within walking distance to mall - it's super easy for me to get to work from there. It's rare to find a mechanic you can trust, but Felix and his team at the Hadley Midas are reliable, knowledgable, and honest. I have an '03 Grand Marquis that was squeaking every time I braked. They showed me the places that needed work, and explained everything to me along with my options for where I could try to save money. They stayed past closing to get my work done in one day as promised, and when the squeaking wasn't fixed by this first round of repairs, they did everything they could to make sure I was a satisfied customer. They use quality parts and don't try to sneak anything by you. They want their customers to feel taken care of and it shows. I also got a good deal on a set of new Cooper tires while I was there. Mike was the man! It's not often you leave the mechanic in a good mood but today was one of those days. I walked in and was offered some coffee while someone changed my oil and fluids and they ended up finding more wrong than I expected but Mike walked me through what things were the most crucial and even what I could wait for so that I didn't go broke but also had a safe vehicle. I got everything I needed for a great price and they even got me a ride home to wait for them to finish up. The only negative thing I can think of from the whole experience was that the waiting room was small and got cold when people came in and out and I think if it was larger and renovated it would better reflect the service you get when you go there. Mike the manager is such a nice, friendly, and helpful guy. He's 100% HONEST and straight up front with you with the problems your car might be having and the cost. I cannot stress enough how great of a guy he is, he's not here to screw you over. He gets when money is tight. I went to 2 other shops before this one and he cut the price almost in half. Plus, his guys fixed up my car on the same day I brought it in with minimal wait time. There was a nice movie playing, free coffee/water. Free wifi so I was able to do my work work while waiting. What more can you ask. Mike's willing to work with you if you'll work with him. I'd recommend this place over any place in the area, easy, no questions asked. I have been bringing my old car to these guys for several years, and they are so friendly and helpful. They honestly tell you everything they find that is wrong with your car and they try to help you afford the repairs. They tell you which repairs are urgent and which are not. They are not working on commission, so they do not try to scam you. They will also look over a used car before you purchase it, which I would suggest to anyone buying used. I've seen them give people phone numbers to junk yards to find cheaper parts for their vehicles, and I watched them call someone about accidentally overcharging them by 10 cents. I drive a high mileage car and I move frequently, so I've used a lot of different mechanics. These guys the best I've ever worked with. They're honest, friendly, thorough, and work quickly. I appreciate that bring me out to the garage and show me any issues with my car, and then explain the significance of what they found and whether it's important to get fixed right away. I came into Amherst to visit my niece at school only to have my car break down. I called the Midas shop on Russell Street and talk to the manager George. He was very helpful and professional. He helped me get back on the road at a minimal cost so I could get my car home safely where my husband is a mechanic and works on our vehicles. My husband told me I was lucky to run into someone as honest as George because there was an inexpensive fix that George had his mechanic Nate do until I got home where my husband could fix it. If I ever go out that way again and have car problems I will go see George and his crew at Midas. read more

Been coming here for about a year and a half since I moved into the area. All I can say Is great things about this place! They always treat me with respect and are always willing to answer questions and concerns I might have about my car. Very reliable! I've been a Midas customer for over 3 years. I've always received excellent service at all of the locations. The Midas in Hadley has been especially nice. Nice and large waiting area with a decent selection of magazines. The staff is always friendly and efficient. They are very nice about explaining what needs to be done to your car. They tell you what needs to be fixed asap and what would eventually need to be done. There is no pressure at all! The location is very convenient. I had a complete exhaust system with converters put on my car.The tech that did the work was Kevin he had a hard time with the studs on the exhaust manifold they were rusted pretty bad.Kevin never gave up working on it and finally got it off.They could have told me that he could not get it off and sent me on my way but they did not.And Jason at the front desk did not charge me more money then they told me it was going to cost,because it took longer then it would have.Kevin and Jason are great guys very honest and friendly.Thank you very much for your hard work and keep it up.Happy New Year! read more

Midas was really truly full of friendliness and accommodation. Making an appointment over the phone was very simple and when I arrived I was greeted politely and pleasantly (especially for 7:30am right when they opened!) I just needed a routine oil change and they had a great deal this month where it was only $19.99. After I was all checked in they made sure I knew I could help myself to water or coffee and even put on whatever I wanted on the TV from Netflix to cable. Great experience, would go here again!!. I failed inspection because of an exhaust leak so I went to Midas for the repair. I dropped off my car and they drove me free of charge to Umass so I could make it to class. The car ended up needing a special part so they drove all the way down to Connecticut so they could fix it all in the same day. They were super transparent with the repairs and brought me to look at what they fixed under my car. Additionally they also gave me a discount because i was a student. I was in Amherst just for the day and around 4pm came out to find my car had a totally flat tire. Tricky timing as I was trying to head back to Maine. I called around to different auto service places knowing they would be closing soon and the response from Midas was awesome and such a relief. Said if I could get there they would check the tire and even stay a bit later if needed. I made it to the shop where they assessed, patched/plugged the hole, and I was on my way. Had an excellent experience at Midas in Hadley, MA. I had no appointment and needed an oil change, as well as some factory maintenance. They got me right in, and Felix even explained exactly what they would be doing with my car clearly, so that I would understand. Went in today and ended up having to do major work under the hood. Not only were they efficient, but one of the guys helped me to start a line a of credit. Both he and the mechanic went above and beyond to not only fix my problem, but also went a few extra miles to look out for my best interest. This is an excellent shop, especially for a young woman like me who doesn't know much about cars. Felix and his crew pays attention to your concerns about the car and in addition performs a thorough check on the car and lets you know about any hidden dangers without pushing aggressively for the sale, which I really appreciate. They also offer rides to campus and the Hampshire mall while they work on your car. Really considerate and knowledgeable guys all around.
