    Damaged area

    Came in here over a month ago to get my tires changed due to one poping and not being able to change it. Midas was the closest place to where my car was. I took it and I got a good deal on the tires. I went to pick up my car later in the day. About an hour later after picking it up I noticed my rims were damaged. I went back two days later to tell them what happened. Manager that was there said blamed me and said I damaged my car and that it was curb rash. If you look at the picture that is not curb rash. 1. More of the outer rim would have been damaged if it was curb rash. 2. Curb rash also leaves the damaged area rough. It looks like they dropped a tool on the rim and were not careful. The manager kept blaming me that it was my fought and my driving. I know it wasn't me cause I would have heard a curb rash and im super careful with my rims. I also went straight home after picking up my car. The manager took a picture of my rim and said he will tell the owner and the other manager and i will hear back. I haven't heard back and I have called a couple times but the managers were not there. I didn't get a chance to stop in due me getting out of work late.Tires are good but they won't take care of your car. I would not recommend anybody to go unless you don't care if they damage your car. I regret ever going to them. Wish I took my car to another place now every time I see my car I see the damaged rim.

    Tom and his crew are our 'family mechanics.' They've been working on our cars for over 10 years. If there is any issue with our cars, this is where we go. They even have special discounts for my fam I only had them swap tires of my truck with snow tires. They took about 5 hours and did an excellent job balancing and installing the tires. There is no wobble or any other sound from the tires. Balancing wheels is an art and if you ever need wheels balanced, this is the place to be. Update: they swapped my exhaust with a cat-back. My truck is loud! Great job guys!

    My rotor which had to be replaced after a Midas "inspection" a week and a half before showed my brakes were "in good condition".

    They made a mistake two separate times after rotating my tires. I had to bring my car back 3 different times.

    Love this Midas and Tom the manager. However my daughter's friend that her brother owns this is a cheapass with no discounts.

They told us to leave it and they would try to get us in. They called us around 4 and told us the diagnostics showed it was only the battery and they could replace it and we would be good to go. While I was waiting for them to finish up, someone came in with Popeye's for an employee. I talked about how good the spicy chicken was and they offered me a piece! I had heard the conversation about how it was dinner for the employee's family and politely declined, but that was so nice! So we had a good experience and are happy to know that we have a backup plan if the nearby location is booked.

We looked for an open mechanic and discovered this Firestone, so got right back off at North Ave and babied the car all the way there. They were already booked for the day, which was understandable, and promised to look at it first thing on Monday. Without going into a ton of detail - the manager, Matt, was really great. They handled the repairs well and had us ready to travel by the end of the day. He kept in touch to let us know how it was going and treated us fairly on the bill.     Stay Away! I thought twice today about updating my review. It's all about quality. This is exactly…read morewhy, I myself read reviews and leave reviews. I'd like to know that the establishments, especially the "mom and pop" places I invest my time and hard and money into, are quality. Well this place needs major quality control. Especially in its customer service and sales. #mortified I no longer live in the area but gladly can tell you that you are better off going to GoodYear Suburban Auto (off Lake Street a few blocks away). Or Route 64 Auto in Villa Park. Hell Even a jiffy lube isn't too far from this terrible shop. Unbelievable. I've never had a shop employee text me to bring work into their shop, more than once, that should of been my first red flag. Why are they so desperate for work? I had work done March 2019, about 1 year ago, in that year I have had the same initial repair corrected due once by them (under warranty) due to low quality parts used. Not to mention after I had them take care of the repairs, I had a different shop quote me significantly less. You can presume how frustrating it was to find out "Anthonys great prices and discounts", were a farce. That's what you get for not doing your research first... Now this is the 3'rd time the same problem is acting up. I called March 12, pre warranty expiration and bringing the car back to *this* shop, is not an option for many reasons. The "customer service" aka Anthony could value from investing into 'communications' classes. Me Being under pressure with needing my car fixed soon it's stressful, customer service position, we deal with clients on a spectrum of emotions. I get that... I've been on both ends. As customer sales/service, you've got to have tact and be composed. I couldn't believe I had to mediate the call and remind him, I'm the customer and he is customer service ...that he should be finding a way to keep business... not argue with the customer. Also, he should not be in a mechanic shop. At all. Not even a car sales man. This job just doesn't fit him at all. I had once called post the initial repair asking which wheel bearing had been fixed, to which he told me it was "non-specific". Another red flag. Go anywhere else. I'm fed up with the low quality part with over priced costs, expensive, on top of the excruciatingly bad customer service.
