Really helpful and quick service, especially gave me some tips on best tires for EVs.

Our 2012 Toyota Prius had a "check engine" on. Manager Jake Guy is very straight forward and honest with each customer. The vehicle needed a new EGR valve, carbon cannister, and accessories battery (not to be confused with much larger ion-lithium that is in hybrid cars). In order to save money from buying very expensive parts from a Toyota dealer,as long as the carbon cannister had the original Toyota part number stamp, Jake suggested buying the part on E-Bay. The EGR valve had to be bought from the Toyota dealer, but in both parts purchases and repair costs, Jake saved us approximately $1,600-$2,000. Even after all these repairs, the "check engine" light was still on, but Jake suggested the cheapest route would be to purchase a new gas cap to solve the small emissions leak that the Prius dealership in Greensburg Toyota found on an engine diagnostic test. The $16 total cost at Advance Auto Parts was a colossal cost saver. He suggested letting the Prius engine cycle through to about 200 miles driving to see if the engine light came off. The "engine light" went off, and has stayed off since !! If Jake Guy was dishonest, he would have never have suggested this as the cheapest fix. I genuinely believe that manager Jake Guy is honest and obviously competent and experienced, but he and his fellow mechanics are looking for the best interest of the consumer. Finding a knowledgeable manager and set of mechanics in an era of high inflation and equally inflated car part and repairs costs is truely a rare find. After saving huge sums of money on parts and repairs based on manager Jake Guy's advice, I would suggest and trust these Midas shop mechanics with all my future repairs including my son's 2013 Volkswagon Jetta, Further, I would recommend this Allison Park Midas location to any consumer who is looking for quality repairs at a fair price, and genuine consumer guidance for keeping their vehicle maintained for optimal performance. read more

I have been here in the past. Sure they try to up charge you. I've even listened to them before. I made an appointment today. It was not for 2 pm. It was an appointment window from 2-4. I show up at 315. I told the worker I made an appointment online and my window was from 2-4. He told me I was late. I had to be here at 2. I said to him it was an appointment window. He asked if I show up to a doctors office when I'm scheduled to. I told him they don't give windows they give exact appointment times. He continued "any place you go, they expect you to show up at the beginning of the window, not any time during the window." Why is it a window then? I told him he had bad customer service and left. I will never go back. I already have an appointment somewhere else. At a specific time. Not a window. read more

Midas - Appointment. I read that as an interval of when to show up. Between 2-4. - Auto Repair Near Me - Gibsonia, Pennsylvania

Took my car there over two months ago to get an oil change. They suggested that I get the tires rotated so I agreed. They called me later to tell me that one of my wheel studs was broken and it would cost $149 to fix. I told them to do the repair since I was concerned about safety. When I picked up my car the associate at the counter gave me a discount on the repair since he said it did not take as long as he quoted. Surprised but please with the discount to $80. The next day I looked closer at my wheel, and I saw that they knocked off two of my lug nut caps and broke my locking lug nut on the same wheel. I called right away, and the manager said that damage claims have to go through the district manager. He said he would reach out to me. Two weeks later no call. I call again and the manager said he contacted the district manager, and he will arrange to see my vehicle. Now it is two months later, and I still have a damaged wheel and they charged me $80 to fix my wheel stud when they obviously broke it when they tried to pull the tire off. No one has reached out to me. read more

Make an appointment and they still want you to leave your vehicle for 3-4 hours... I asked about this upon making the appointment and they said I wouldn't have to wait with one. read more

Top notch team. Jake couldn't be any better to deal with. Very honest and helpful, a rare trait in shops today.

Beware!!!! Took my car there to have the brake lines bled! Since then I've had nothing but issues! Clogged hydraulic brake lines. Needed to replace all brake lines, pads and rotors. read more

I had great service here. I ran over a big rock and went to this Midas expecting new tires. Even though the rim of that busted tire was bent, they fixed the rim, put the tire back (since it only popped off) and off I went. I really expected to spend hundreds on a new rim and tire. read more

I came here to get my back brakes done about a month ago. When I came for that it took about 3 hours for them to complete. The man who did my brakes told me that my parking brake on my passenger side was worn and he could fix it or take it off completely that it wouldn't matter. I had him remove it. After leaving and going home I woke up the next morning with a big staple in my brand new tire and it was flat. So they plugged my tire for me and I went on my way. One month and a few days later my brakes are squealing again. I call to see if they could help me on Saturday morning and they told me they couldn't accommodate me until Monday which would have caused me to miss multiple days of work. I had to take my car to another place to be fixed. Upon taking to another place they found out my back brakes that were just replaced were worn down and wore out my rotors also. One month old brakes and rotors gone. I then had to pay to have them fixed. I took my car to be checked for sticking calibers to make sure it wasn't my vehicle that caused this and it was not. My calibers did not stick and it was not my car. When I went back to Midas with all of my parts and explained what happened they all tried to blame me for what happened saying I drove with the parking brake on, which didn't happen because my parking brake was removed and I was told not to try to even use it which was stated in my paperwork from my initial visit. Then one mechanic would tell me one thing while the manager would tell me something different about what could have caused it and none of them made any sense. They didn't want to take responsibility for all of the cost of what happened they only wanted to refund my pads first. Then they finally agreed to refunding me for all parts but made me pay for the labor, which had a 90 day warranty, that I had to have re done a month later. Every time I have came here there has been an issue and the cost of the work is not worth what you get out of them. I do not recommend having your car serviced here. read more

Love this Midas for small and large work. Oil changes, inspections, tires. These guys are honest, quick, and accurate with their time estimates. They have gotten me in early to get jobs done and have always been fair. Book here with confidence. read more

Excellent service. I have brought 3 vehicles there and they have done a stellar job on each. There were several times they could have charged me for things I did not need, like brake issues, and did not. That is always the sign of someone who wants you to come back and will treat you right. Finding a good auto repair shop who does the right thing is like finding gold. read more

Had oil changed here. Bryan, assistant manager, was wonderful and friendly. The staff seemed pleasant too. I'd go back!

Stopped by for an oil change after calling ahead to confirm they had a time slot for me. The manager had me look at a tire that needed to be replaced. That was fine. But he pressured me into buying a second tire that in hindsight I really did not need (I do take part of the blame here for not looking at it first). I was probably equally upset about being there for about 3 hours total for a scheduled appointment. The kicker is they never put my tire valve caps back on and they're closed today, Sunday. read more

Absolutely horrendous customer experience! I replaced my windshield last Tuesday. I was told I had 7 business days to have my inspection stickers updated and placed on the windshield which leaves me until tomorrow. My grandma just passed away and due to the upcoming viewing and service, this is literally the ONLY day I have to do this. Safelite said any place like Midas could replace the stickers for $13. I called early today and was told the McKnight location did not do this but that this location would. I spoke to Nick who said I could come in at 5:30pm no problem and have these stickers replaced in 20 to 30 minutes. When I got there at 5:25pm, the man at the counter said that this would take at least an hour as it requires a full inspection even though I have updated stickers and that they can't help me unless I drop the car off for overnight. I was also laughed at and told I must have called the wrong shop because there is no Nick that works there. I will never use Midas for anything in the future. I went down the road to ***Firestone*** and they said I was given incorrect information and that it would not take an hour to replace the stickers and took care of me completely. read more

Absolute worst service ever. My mother dropped her car off at 11:30 and by 2:30 pm, it still wasn't done. When she asked for her car keys back because it was taking too long, the manager, Bob Oberley actually yelled at her and told her to "shut up." What a way to talk to a 60 year old woman! I will NEVER use this or any other Midas. read more

Called here at 10:40am to inquire about the earliest appointment for my wife's Cadillac STS. The person I spoke with (didn't write down his name and that apparently makes ALL the difference in the world) asked "how soon can you be here" when I said 11:15 he gave me an 11:30 appointment. We discussed a few issues with the car including not doing tire rotation engine shields etc. a good 5-7 minute call. He gave me a price of 54.95 and said see you at 11:30. When I arrived, I was told that there was no appointment in my name. Who did I speak to? With the amount of work lined up, no way an appointment could have been made. Who did I speak to? I thought maybe I had called Monroe across the street so I apologize and went next door. When they did not I called my office had them pull the call log and get the number. It was Midas. The people with the location or more concerned with my not getting a name of who I spoke with rather than trying to determine why somebody scheduled the appointment or trying to help me. Even though they didn't say it they made me feel like they were saying I did not make the appointment I ended up going to Jiffy Lube right up the street I paid $30 more I had it done in 10 minutes no hassle read more

This review does not single out this one location but several. Let me also say that the guys were all nice (at this location) - but DO NOT take your car to a Midas location if your vehicle needs AC repair. My personal experience: 4 different locations - a total of 18-20 trips / 2 cars having to go each time / 2 peoples time, gas, mileage, etc. 4+ trips from Valencia to East Liberty- 45 minutes one way... Had to deal with DM - Dave Markee on several occasions- usually more bad news related to same problem. Dealt with RM - Gary Lindhurst. Again, nice guys, but for me to have to drive to 4 different Midas locations- 18-20 times to get my AC fixed was a complete circus. 6 weeks later - it's finally working. My discount for 'my troubles' was $200 off the bill. Obviously my time, my wife and daughter who had to follow me every time (45 minutes one way) two cars, fuel, etc., was worth a whole $200 off. I texted Gary (Regional Manager) and said this can't be acceptable... no reply. Very disappointing experience. read more

I took my mini van in for an inspection. While inspecting my car, they found over $1300 worth of things that needed fixed before it would pass. I then took my car for a second opinion and the only thing it needed was wiper blades. This is not the first time I have heard of this happening at this location. Please beware when you go to this Midas. read more
