Visiting the beach and unfortunately my car got stuck in the sand and my splash shield under my car bent and was dragging! Drove over to Midas and without hesitation the employees sprang into action and re-attached my splash shield! The young gentleman was very sweet and helpful. 6 months ago i was in a pinch and couldn't find a shop that would/could make the repair i needed in any reasonable time -or day. I was passing by and on a lark i went to Midas to see if they could help me. 30 minutes later the repair was complete and i was on my way. In 6 months i've been back to them 3 times now for other repairs. What is it with FWB and street nails?? Its like those pesky little gremlins are broadcast spreading them everywhere... Wait, i can call a gremlin "little" right? Asking for a friend as don't want to offend... Yesterday again i picked up a nail in one tire. At 2pm-ish i called Midas to see how busy they were and was told to "come now". I was in and out in less than 20 minutes this time. I brought my vehicle in to be serviced for breaks after having the brakes done only by Midas in Los Angeles and I am at the Fort Walton Beach location in Florida and the owner is a con artist. He explains that the breaks don't use wear indicators any more, even through the wear indicators are clearly on my pads from Midas, he tries to explain to me that the brakes are all shot but yet still have 20% or greater on the pad and clearly trying to sell me on why everything needs to be replaced including rotors and pads after I've had it inspected both by Pep Boys and by Tuffys. There is a reason only one Midas exists in NW Florida, because they private owners are criminals. I will be calling corporate and explaining this experience in detail. read more

My wife's car had a brake issue develop traveling to the beach. The experience with this Midas was akin to an episode from the old Dukes of Hazard series where a tourist gets trapped in town and forced to spend an exorbitant amount to get the car back in working order. While calling to make the initial appointment the technician referred to my wife as "darling" on the phone so we collectively decided it would be best for me to bring the car in. Following a 730am drop off we received a call a few hours later with an update that the rear brakes needed replacement: pads, rotors, and BOTH brake calipers. After speaking to Robby I was told that if one caliper failed it was inevitable the other would fail and to replace it now. He promised to do a great job getting me additional discounts to get the bill down under $1000. Feeling the pressure and recognizing they had me over a barrel I initially approved the second caliper repair, but contacted my local shop for a second opinion. They laughed at me and said I was being up-charged. I called Robby back, cancelled the second caliper and went to pick up the car late in the day. When I arrived I was asked for my credit card before being given a chance to view the invoice. When I requested to see it I was told as soon as we run the card. Again, wanting to be done with this as quickly as possible I was charged just under $1000 for pads, two rotors, and a rear caliper. The hidden mark up was an additional charge for a flush which the bill describes as non transmission or engine and I presume is brake lines for an additional $80-90. Original estimate was $840. In sum, sometimes you have to grit your teeth and bare it. I recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Absolutely outstanding customer service. We were in Fort Walton Beach for a winter stay. I noticed a big screw in the left front tire. Checked and Midas was recommended. From when we first arrived until we left, customer service was excellent. They checked the tire, (never remove the object so they can find it, which I knew), and said it would take about 20 minutes. after seeing the reviews and not knowing which mechanic shop to try next, I decided to give midas a call and set up a brake job. The man that answered the phone answered all my questions thoroughly and got me in the shop and my car done In no time, along with giving me some possible hand-saving advice about driving with a landyard on my keys. Bob really has true knowledge about cars and diagnostics I was actually impressed. Robby was exceptionally helpful to me when I came in for service. I also witnessed his patience while sitting in the waiting room with an elderly woman complaining to him that he performed an oil change on top of the other services she requested. Her son (who was also in the waiting room) was the one who requested the oil change and she was unaware. After about 10 minutes of her unjustified bickering and his professionalism, she finally left and he wished her a pleasant rest of her day. Broke a rear spring on my 2011 VW Jetta w/185,000 miles on Sunday evening. Called and spoke with Bob Towers first thing Monday morning. He assured me that it should be drivable the short distance to his shop, and said to bring it over and he'd have it checked out by 9:30AM! They ordered parts and had both rear springs and the worn out rear shocks (also original) replaced by Wednesday mid-afternoon. VERY HAPPY!!! Bob, you and your team are awesome!!! read more

This place did Me wrong I think mostly was because I was a female I took my car to go in there and get checked out to get a second opinion because I knew basically what was going on with my car and they told me that it could be my timing cover gasket my water pump gasket and my Radiator could be Craft but come to find out they were running my car under 50PSI doing the pressure test and my car can only hold up to 16PSI So with them running in at 50 psi cause my car to leak out in more places than it should have they were gonna charge me over a grand just and labor unbelievable I took my car to a shop and put a pressure test up to myself and nothing happened it held the constant pressure And I replace my radiator because my transmission fluid cooler busted and that was the only issue but now I'm having concerns that my water pump could be blown because of the PSi pressure they put on to it There are no signs of it being blown now but come to future if that was the problem they caused then I will be very upset One more thing my cars and 01 Camaro and they hooked an OBD 2 reader and my car specifically takes OBD1 just a prime example that they can't actually work on difficult things read more

My truck now drives like new!!! Straight as an arrow down the road after the alignment and my front end was changed out. New tires, shocks and struts makes her now ride smooth. Highly disgusted with this store and management. I brought in two tires to be replaced, confirmed twice by calling that they had the right size and time to put them on. I drop the tires off, come back to find out from the man named NEVEL that the boss was supposed to call because they had the wrong size. I didn't know what to do and the boss, BOB, had left so I said I would call back to figure it out. While getting my tires, two other workers are chatting and NEVEL is answering calls rather than grabbing my tires. I tell him that we were told 30-45 minutes, they are not done and we have to go and voicemail can answer it because I am right here. I leave and research if I can use two different sizes, WHICH I CANNOT so I call and get ahold of BOB the boss on the SAME DAY 4/6/15....HE YELLS AT ME FOR YELLING AT HIS GUYS AND HANGS UP! I couldn't tell him that they were goofing off and not doing their job because he didn't let me get any words in. I instantly call 800 MIDAS to let them know of my scenario and request a refund, return the tires or exchange. They said I should receive a call within 24-48 hours. On4/10,4/13,4/20 I call AGAIN...to get the same answer-24-48 hours I will be contacted. AGAIN NOTHING. On 4/21/15, Noel from Corporate calls and I explain again what this horrible boss did and sold me and he would look into it. I HEAR NOTHING AGAIN. I call back to see what is going on, and Noel says the boss said I requested the WRONG SIZE and it's a CIVIL matter!? Wait, what!? I have two tires that do not fit my van that have never been used and want this resolved but NOPE. I WAS SCREWED OUT OF $227, yelled at and have two brand new tires that will not fit my van.
