PEOPLE BEWARE!! A simple oil change triggered the check engine light which it shouldn't have done, and the vehicle is damaged underneath! was nice, but the job was unprofessionally done. First time here for oil change. Oil changes do not trigger check engine lights. Took them forever to fix the check engine light. Was late picking up someone from work as a result. I Checked under the hood later on and notice 25% of the splash guard engine cover under the vehicle is damaged and missing. We already have some missing plastic clips from the cover, so it sags a little. For some unprofessional odd reason, they decide to cut off the sagging area without notifying me. All it needed was a couple of plastic clips. Also was not told by management of the hidden charge for disposing the oil. It's not the fee or so much the mistake of triggering the check engine light that bothered me. It's the simple fact that nobody told me ahead of time of the hidden charge and the damages to the vehicle bottom engine cover in cutting it off. Now we have to buy a whole bottom engine splash cover. read more

Excellent service! My wife's Equinox threw a Stabilitrak service message, along with the ABS and TC lights. We made an appointment with Midas to have it diagnosed. Before the appointment the message cleared itself and the lights went out, but we took it there anyway to have them look for any history codes that might have caused it. I fully expected to pay a diagnostic fee. They checked it, and found an history error for the ABS pump (likely the case of the Stabilitrak error). But since it wasn't currently throwing an error, they suggested to take a wait-and-see approach. And to top it off, they didn't charge any diagnostic fee. You can bet that if it comes back, I'll be completely comfortable having Midas repair it. Or, if there are any other issues, Midas will be our shop of choice. During a visit to have my car scheduled maintenance done including a tune-up, an oil change, and front brakes, the technician (Danial Hill) and the Manager (Jason Royal) noticed a leaking water pump. I was shown the trail of the leak, and the recommendation was to change the water pump as well. All work was completed without delay and the car is acting RIGHT. The pricing was definitely less than dealer pricing and the quality of work was top tier. This could have been major engine problems if this water pump was to go bad. My husband took our car to Midas a few days ago because one of the tires was flat. These tires were purchased from Midas about a year ago and cost over $900. We opted for Midas because of the "5 year/50k mile" warranty. It had been one year and nowhere near 50k miles as this car is driven to run errands around town and has made two trips to Panama City in that time. The first time my husband took the car in the tech wouldn't discuss the warranty and insisted there was nothing wrong with the tire. He put the tire back on the car and said it should be fine. He had no explanation for why the tire was flat, just said he couldn't find anything wrong. Here we are a few days later and lo and behold, the exact same tire is flat again. My husband took the car back and asked them to honor their warranty and replace the tire. This time he spoke to Jason Royal who absolutely refused, and his only argument was "You drove on it flat." Well, yes, because it went flat in the middle of an intersection and we HAD to drive it off the road to change it. My husband asked WHY he was told the tire was fine when it clearly wasn't, WHY was it just put back on the car when they knew there was something wrong, thereby putting our lives and our child's life at risk. Jason Royal had the tech pump up the tire to 70psi (which they didn't do the first time) and found a puncture. My husband asked why this wasn't done the first time he came in and Royal said, "Well, you didn't find it either." My husband pointed out quite logically that he trusted Midas because he himself wasn't a mechanic, whereas it's obviously their job to know how to find punctures, they have the equipment and training to do so, and that's why people bring vehicles to them in the first place. Royal was incredibly insulting throughout the entire exchange, called my husband stupid for not being a mechanic, and honestly this man has no business working in a customer facing role. In fact, this fiasco calls into question Midas's competence across the board, not to mention the scam of refusing customers coverage under the warranty they paid for. Shameful. read more

My husband and I have been bringing our vehicles here since early this Year 2018. We have had to have allot of things done and fixed on two of our cars. Jason is the best, the rest of the staff is awesome too, anytime a part was needed he was on the ball to get it. Having a car that doesn't and isn't up to speed can be stressful and costly. I have to admit I love coming here, they have always taken great care of me, and with a husband that is at work and not home and kids to tend too. Midas of Dothan has always made sure that I was more than taken care of regarding my vehicle and they always did what they could to make the situation less stressful than it was. I've come in late and very early asking about issues with the cars, I've been late picking a car up. My vehicles are older so at times required allot of time and labor to work on. These guys have never complained, given me a hard time or over charged for anything. My husband has always appreciated the level of professionalism with Jason and the staff here, as jason has always contacted my husband Bernie to inform him of all that's going on. Went to Midas for a professional auto mechanic when we had issues with our F150 2008 with 85396 miles. We tried fixing it by going to an auto parts store for a diagnosis, but we decided instead of changing parts til we found the problem we would pay a professional. Were we surprised when the pros we used did the same thing we would have done a charged for the additional time they spent changing out wrong parts, waiting for the next round of maybe fixes and scratching heads. Very disappointed in the service and professionalism at this store. While the people were pleasant, Money was spent that could have waited for the scheduled maintenance at 90000 miles. read more
