After checking what they did, I found loose bolts in which messed up my cv axle. I also have a problem with my steering and I looked at the eps system and looks like they chipped on it and now I have to replace that. I do not suggest that you go to them. They do shoddy work and then overcharge for things that they dont do properly.

Well, I have my experience here. I told him I'll give him the job and I left my vehicle over there later on he gives me a call back says that do you joints on the vehicle or busted he cannot put it back together unless we buy new u-joints. I asked him how much those parts will be and he said it's going to be $48 in parts and didn't mention how much the labor will be, and I expected to be no more than an hour because I already paid him to take the axles out. Change the seals while the axles were out changing U joints shouldn't be more than an hour of extra labor in my opinion later I found out his charging me three hours of labor and the parts are actually $200 for two u-joints. Instead of $500, which I was agreed the estimated that amount, now he wants me to pay $1300 I asked him to reduce the labor hours to five hours and I was going to pay the full amount and owner refuse to take any off, later on I went to the shop with some cash and the card. He refused to take the card from me. he says he doesn't trust me. I wish I just went to Walmart to get my oil changed never deal with these people.

Edit: Phil called in response to my review. See the attached invoice. I had already replaced the camshaft position sensor (a ten minute job), which was new. This did not resolve the code, which indicated the connection was intermittent. I had tested the connector with a multimeter, which indicated there was a bad connection at the connector. This was communicated to the service manager when I dropped off the vehicle. The technician stated that there was a broken tab on the camshaft position sensor, and they replaced the brand new part I had just installed. See the attached photo. That the tab could be broken without being filed off is highly suspect. It's a durable part. That the relatively fragile connector was damaged is more credible. In my opinion, as stated to the service manager, it was obviously the part that needed to be replaced. They replaced the connector, which again, I had communicated was the likely issue. They claim to have paid $110 for this part that I can purchase at Napa for $26. So in summary, I paid $685 to have them swap out a $26 connector. I can only conclude they're either dishonest or incompetent. Edit 2: Well Phil, now you're just outright lying. You did not show me the new camshaft position sensor you removed and replaced. Your technician did not perform any diagnostics, and ignored the diagnostic information I provided to you in advance. He just started swapping parts, AND overcharging for the time spent. Even if the sensor needed to be replaced, a $40 part that takes ten minutes to install, to charge me $685 is absurd.

Quality and saved me! While on a family vacation, our suburban broke down at Mesa Verde. I…read moretroubleshot it down to a fuel system issue and went to town to get a new fuel relay at Oreilly's. While there, Oreilly advised to use Eighty Eight if it turned out to be the fuel pump or something else. Unfortunately, the relay didn't work. So, I called Eighty Eight. Mind you--this was a summer Friday afternoon! The proprietor always picked up the phone and tried to talk me through things. He even offered advise as to how to resurrect the fuel pump for one last trip. It was greatly appreciated. After giving up on resurrecting the fuel pump, I had it towed from Mesa Verde to Eighty Eight. The tow was a bit of a heartbreaker at $200 (don't go to Mesa Verde without a well-maintained car)! During this time, Eighty Eight was already procuring the necessary parts for the repair. He replaced the fuel pump by 6:30 PM on his Friday night. What a vacation savior! I didn't negotaite any pricing up front and I was expecting to pay $1,000 - $1,200 based on Boulder, CO pricing. He charged me $654! That was a nice Friday gift after a long day. He then gave me a 2-year warranty for the repair with coverage through a warranty network. I can't recommend Eighty Eight enough! I just wish he was close by to where I live in CO.

Next morning, I called around but no one had time to look at it until the next day, or a week and even two weeks later. Finally called 88 and Larry said he'd take a look at it. He not only took a look, but took off the serpentine belt and found that I had put a pulley on backwards, on the tensioner. It was cutting into the timing cover. He ordered a new tensioner. While we were waiting he recharged the air conditioning, tested the battery, tested the brake fluid, saying it needed flushing when our trip was over. He also tested the anti freeze and found out to be ok. He was honest, knowledgeable, friendly, and he didn't take advantage of the fact we were stuck and traveling. He only charged book rate for the parts and repair, and even took 70.00 off the AC recharge because it didn't make the AC much colder. He didn't charge for running the battery check or using the test strips in the brake fluid and antifreeze. All in all, it was a positive experience. I would recommend his shop and him to anyone that needs auto repair in Cortez,CO.
