From out of state and heading home when we broke down. Fred took care of us and got us back on the road, only place in town to go.

Quality and saved me! While on a family vacation, our suburban broke down at Mesa Verde. I…read moretroubleshot it down to a fuel system issue and went to town to get a new fuel relay at Oreilly's. While there, Oreilly advised to use Eighty Eight if it turned out to be the fuel pump or something else. Unfortunately, the relay didn't work. So, I called Eighty Eight. Mind you--this was a summer Friday afternoon! The proprietor always picked up the phone and tried to talk me through things. He even offered advise as to how to resurrect the fuel pump for one last trip. It was greatly appreciated. After giving up on resurrecting the fuel pump, I had it towed from Mesa Verde to Eighty Eight. The tow was a bit of a heartbreaker at $200 (don't go to Mesa Verde without a well-maintained car)! During this time, Eighty Eight was already procuring the necessary parts for the repair. He replaced the fuel pump by 6:30 PM on his Friday night. What a vacation savior! I didn't negotaite any pricing up front and I was expecting to pay $1,000 - $1,200 based on Boulder, CO pricing. He charged me $654! That was a nice Friday gift after a long day. He then gave me a 2-year warranty for the repair with coverage through a warranty network. I can't recommend Eighty Eight enough! I just wish he was close by to where I live in CO.

We were on our way through Cortez, stopped for the night. Our van was making a high pitched squeal,…read moreand I thought it was the air conditioning compressor. Next morning, I called around but no one had time to look at it until the next day, or a week and even two weeks later. Finally called 88 and Larry said he'd take a look at it. He not only took a look, but took off the serpentine belt and found that I had put a pulley on backwards, on the tensioner. It was cutting into the timing cover. He ordered a new tensioner. While we were waiting he recharged the air conditioning, tested the battery, tested the brake fluid, saying it needed flushing when our trip was over. He also tested the anti freeze and found out to be ok. He was honest, knowledgeable, friendly, and he didn't take advantage of the fact we were stuck and traveling. He only charged book rate for the parts and repair, and even took 70.00 off the AC recharge because it didn't make the AC much colder. He didn't charge for running the battery check or using the test strips in the brake fluid and antifreeze. All in all, it was a positive experience. I would recommend his shop and him to anyone that needs auto repair in Cortez,CO.

I just wanted to share a quick positive experience I had with Mountain Auto Care, even though they…read moreultimately weren't able to service my car. After our check engine light came on, we called and spoke with Cameron. I explained what had happened, and he let me know that unfortunately they were getting ready to be closed for the next couple of days and likely wouldn't be able to service our car until early the following week. Even with that, he suggested we still stop by if we could. He said he could at least scan the car, see what was going on, and hopefully give us some direction. About 15 minutes later, we showed up and Cameron scanned the car for us. He confirmed that we were dealing with a cylinder 1 misfire (P0301), wrote down the code for us, and gave us some advice on how to diagnose the issue, figure out what was causing it, and hopefully get ourselves back on the road. What stood out to me was that he was genuinely willing to help even though he knew he probably wasn't going to get the business. He was getting ready to close within the next 30-40 minutes, but still took the time to talk with us and point us in the right direction. We ultimately had to handle the repair ourselves, but Cameron's willingness to help when he didn't have to was absolutely worth mentioning. Sometimes it's the small interactions that make you remember a business, and this was definitely one of them. Thanks, Cameron, for taking the time to help us out!

Needless to say they were super busy but the very accommodating service writer was willing to have his mechanic check out our Ford truck if we were willing to wait. 4 hrs later we had a new battery & alternator & were on our way. Even the salesmen came & checked on us & asked if we needed anything. Talk about great customer service! We'd return to have our truck work on again if needed but we live in California. Thank you to ALL the Keesee Ford staff who helped us!

She said they were booked out until August 10th, so I made an appointment for that day (I called about 2 weeks before that). She said to be there by 8:30 a.m. and to plan to leave my vehicle there all day. I arrived and was told by Robb I wasn't on the schedule. I told him that I had called and scheduled an appt at 8:30 and he said he didn't make appts at that time, only 8, 9 or 10. I was already not impressed. I already knew what was wrong, but they had to do a 'diagnostic' on it. The cost to fix was about $300 more than the first place I took it. Then I had to pay $90 for them to tell me what I already knew - that the CV boot/axle needed replaced. Seriously? I've never taken a vehicle in to a shop and paid for an estimate. And I really didn't need an appointment as originally told, because they were done within an hour. When I checked in, Robb told me I could wait two hours and then see if I needed a ride. You would think the service schedulers would know what's in the queue and have an idea of how long it would take. They went and got Deb and she said she had scheduled me in the system. Then Robb told me that she was retiring at the end of September. What difference does that make? I expect to talk to people who are competent and know what is going on. Do not bother with Keesee service dept. Complete waste of time and $90.
