Stopped by here for a new car battery replacement. We had been to couple of auto shops already. Most of the auto shops sell battery but they won't help you install them. Unlike Midas, I used to go to Midas for my oil change, different location of course. I don't have much to say about the mechanics because I'm not a car person. I do know that there customer service is great. Especially the lady that took care of us when we were there. She's friendly and humble. Not to mention that they have free WiFi and coffee that's always a plus. DON'T forget to check in. Yelp's and Midas partner up. They will offer you a 10% off for non promotional service coupon if you check in! Overall, the mechanic are fast and done there jobs right. I came in and said I needed a battery. Indicated that we can just throw a battery in there or diagnose to make sure! Battery diagnostic 99.00. I needed a battery like I incicated!! Battery cost 250.00. 99.00 to install the battery. Including tax this one battery cost me $530.00!!! It seems like to me if I needed a battery, why wasn't the diagnostic taken away if I bought what the diagnosis said I needed? I've never had a problem with this company! They lie, they lied to be about doing an inspection on my car then wouldn't give a refund. They just did it to someone else recently too.

Three different things were changed from when I called to when I arrived. We agreed to 2 PM. He asked me if I was sure it wasn't 4 PM. It seemed to me like they overbooked and then tried to act like I forgot. Then, he says it will be twice as long as he said on phone. I also asked about a referral coupon and he ended up not honoring a part he said he would as I specifically asked if promo on site would be included. "We don't double dip"... that's fine but that's not what you said. 3 completely different things and I'm supposed to trust you with my car? He had an obvious tough guy look when I called out the inconsistencies. Waited around for two hours for nothing but I'm okay with that given the lack of professionalism. read more

I've been there twice told them what was wrong with my car then they totally ignored me and just did an oil change then said they need to do another diagnostic when I told then it's the oil pressure sensor they won't fix it unless you pay 199 for them to do the diagnostic and even if they do that they still might be wrong and fix the wrong stuff but you gotta 199 for them to fix it again it's a grimey cycle they got up there be careful read more

Good work on my truck overall, but would really appreciate it if they wouldn't at 3:15 pm, send the text saying it was complete and ready to pick up, then when I get there at 4 I'm waiting almost another hour to get my vehicle. I planned the time of something around that time I got that text saying it was done and ready at 3:15, but then ended up missing my ferry and was late. I understand jobs can go on longer than expected, but the text telling the customer the job is complete and the vehicle is ready shouldn't be sent until that is the case. I appreciate the politeness of the staff, but please in the future be considerate of people's time. read more

IDK. I only went in because I had a check engine light & said I suspect it's because the oil change is due. They claimed I never mentioned the check engine light. They did an oil change, checked the tires, etc. & said they think the check engine light would go off after driving away. The check engine did not turn off soooo now I need to see another mechanic. I don't feel great about not taking care of my biggest concern. $75 for an oil change is also surprising, but maybe that's normal for a pandemic & inflation? Unrelated notes: latest appointment of the day is 3:30pm, they answer their phones without being transferred & placed on hold like some places, & it's in a good location. I've always heard not to trust all of the Midas automotive chain shops, but I went ahead anyhow because of the great communication I received from Chel at first. Come to find out I shouldn't have expected anything more. I took my Audi in to have the thermostat replaced. They charge me for a diagnostic fee which I understand. But they diagnosed the water pump. They change that just to find out it was in fact the thermostat that needed replacing. Danny the husband even admitted that they should of just went for the thermostat, but they "felt more comfortable changing the water pump." Well, the unnecessary water pump, needed thermostat, and a coolant pipe that broke upon test drive was all replaced leaving me with almost a 2k bill. And now I apparently need a head gasket replaced. Long story short, I didn't even receive a plan or quote from them on how much the extra work (head gasket) will be UNTIL I complained to corporate. Communication was not good. My car was running when I brought it in, now I had to tow it back home after an almost 2k bill. Yes, Chel was willing to take off $150 off the bill, and split the storage fees.. yes they charged me storage fees because I didn't have the time to TOW my car back home and didn't agree with the fees. I agree with paying the necessary thermostat and labor fee, even agreed to pay for the unnecessary water pump fee, but shouldn't the labor on that part at least have been taken off for a misdiagnosis? Chel who's not the mechanic believes it was necessary when her husband even stated it was a misdiagnosis as my wife was in the room when he stated that. Thanks for returning me a car I can't even drive anymore even after having parts replaced by you guys. I will never come back and would not recommend anyone to this shop. Even the guy who towed my car back home was wondering why I needed to have it towed. Looked at the bill without me saying one word and said, "I think Midas screwed you over." read more

My mom recommended this Midas for my oil change. I called to make an appointment. It was apparently after hours but I spoke with the owner (I think her name was Linda) and she was lovely. She said she'd have her manager Shawn call me next day. Shawn called me. He was rude. Like he was being forced to make an appointment with me and I was beneath his time. Today was my appointment at 3 pm. I was running a few minutes behind so called ahead to Midas to let them know and ask if I could still come. Shawn answered and was again rude. He made some comment that he would still "allow" me to come. I guess my oil change wasn't important enough for him, but I should consider myself lucky and be grateful to him for taking my money. I arrived for my oil change maybe 10 minutes behind schedule and went in. It was Shawn. I appreciate they're busy servicing cars but his attitude was again condescending and rude. He stated he would let it slide only this once. I'd had enough. I let this manager Shawn know he had been rude to me three times in a row. His attitude had been consistently negative, rude, and resentful. And I had never been anything but polite to him. I told him his bad attitude had just cost Midas a customer. My car had engine trouble and then died during a drive to Port Angeles on a Sunday, so I had it towed to my local Midas and used the after-hours key drop. I expected the worst: new engine, pricey repairs, possibly even scrapping the car and buying a new one, etc. Instead, David called me Tuesday and said that a hose had just become detached and caused the engine surging. He reattached it and the problem was solved. No charge! It drives pefectly again, like an automotive miracle. Next time I need car repair, I'll certainly be coming back. read more

I am a mom and there has been many times where I've had to sit there for hours waiting for my car to get done. I scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning to get an oil change. I believe I was the second customer they served and it took twenty minutes to get my truck in the garage (the manager smoked in the garage prior to pulling it in). I sat there for two hours listening to the manager dropping f-bombs behind the counter. A week later, and I just missed an appointment because my truck overheated. So I'm new to the area and had been looking for an auto place to handle my routine maintenance needs. I picked Midas because of it's proximity to the naval base and the reviews I read on yelp. I initially dropped by to have my car given a once over, basically they checked all my fluids, brakes, wipers ect. I think this is normally included with any service but I litterLt came by just to have this done, so it cost me like $25. It was determined that I needed to have my fuel injection system cleaned, and I decided to go ahead and do an oil change then as well, so we set up an appt for two weeks later. Fast forward two weeks and I arrived at about 0835 for my 0900 appointment, Tom the friendly face at the front desk let me know that his guys were waiting on me so they could get started (this is why I love early morning appts). I signed the necessary papers, handed over my keys and inquired as to how long the wait would be. Tom told me about 1 1/2hrs and pointed out the coffee, yea options and where the tv control could be found. I knew they had free wifi because of a sticker on the door, so I got the password from Tom and settled into OITNB while I waited. They finished with my car before 1000, ans after I informed Tom that they had a 10% off for new customers on Yelp, he had no problem honoring it. Though I will say he didn't seem readily aware that the offer existed and wasn't quite sure how it worked, he thought maybe I would be doing a survey of some sort online. Regardless he gave me my 10% off which saved me almost $27 (yay). So overall good experience, Tom was super nice and chit chatted with me while I waited, they even tightened the tires on some guys jeep who just dropped in. The mechanic who actually worked on my car, I didn't catch his name but he said hi too, and that I had a really fun car to drive; which he new because apparently part if the service required him to drive it briefly (no worries though, I have full coverage, lol). So I'll be back, they officially have my business, and you should consider giving them yours as well. read more

This review is for work done on my 2001 Ford F-150 Lariat back on 5/24/2019. Sorry it took so long, but I felt a review is deserved. I took it in for a safety inspection after buying it used and they were able to squeeze me in later that week for a very fair price. They let me know, and showed me, all of the leaks that were happening and the damage that they were causing, if any. This led to a few gaskets being replaced and a couple rusted emergency brake assemblies being replaced. Otherwise, I did not feel like I was led down a rabbit hole like with a lot of other local businesses that I've dealt with, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend these guys and will be writing more positive reviews for my other vehicles that I have brought in. So apparently I only get to write a single review for multiple visits, but I've taken in my 2009 Ford F-150 Platinum in on a couple occasions, once for a safety inspection, and another to replace a starter that I just couldn't get done myself. Both experiences were most excellent and very fairly priced. They were very straightforward with the work that needed to be done and did just as they said they would. Absolutely fantastic service! After being given a ridiculous quote for my exhaust work from another shop in town I decided to swing by the Bremerton Midas and get another quote. I am very happy that I did! I was bringing in my 2016 Challenger to have the exhaust work done and not only was the price very fair, the customer service was great! They were able to work on the car right away and addressed all of my concerns. One of my biggest concerns was getting the tips aligned correctly. The last shop I had the car at misaligned one of the tips and left both of them sticking out about an inch past where they should be. Midas made sure they were aligned correctly and even showed me before making the welds. It made me happy to see the tech running back and forth from the garage to the parking lot to get a better view of their alignment! On that note, the welds were great quality, they were clean and nothing was sloppy. I highly recommend this shop to anyone out there looking for work on their vehicle, they will take great care of you and your car! read more

Dropped my car off at noon for an oil change and told them Id be back at 4pm for pick up. Provided all information as needed and verified with the clerk the services included with my oil change. Brake check, fluid checks, etc etc. I asked the clerk about the tire rotation to make it was still part of the service package. He said yes but if they dont think the tires need it, they dont do it. I discussed with him that all the previous times i had been in there, I had gotten my tires rotated and thats one of the reasons I had continued to use Midas. I politely asked him to rotate the tires no matter what because it had been 6000 miles since i last did it. He agreed and I left. I come back at 4pm and can clearly see that the tires had not been rotated. I went inside and spoke to the same clerk. I asked him why they didn't rotate them? His response was.. he didn't think it needed to be done. I verified with him AGAIN that tire rotation was part of the service I had requested and asked if he recalled me making it clear that Id like to have it done. He said yes but went on to explain that they do it under their own discretion. So i asked him to show me on the service description where they do parts of the service at "their discretion". Obviously thats not written anywhere. The guy was annoyed with me and was very short and acting as if I had requested him to do something extra for me or something special and out of the ordinary... He did offer to take the car back in if I was willing to wait an hour as there was someone in front of me. I declined. Could have offered to reduce my service cost a little for the service they didnt do. That did not happen. The car was already up on the rack!! And if they did the brake inspection, which is also in the service, as they claimed to have done, they would of had the wheels/tires off anyways. I left the car there for 4 hours for a 1 hour service. Wasnt like there wasnt plenty of time. I was very polite and clear in my request. Which was me just asking them to do the work advertised on the service which I shouldnt even have to do!! So whats next? Only going to change the oil filter under their own discretion? Has Midas.. or this specific employee.. found some new information that shows tire rotations regularly arent a good practice any longer? Im pretty its still a recommendation from every other company in the automotive industry. Inspired me to never go here again and share my experience in detail on multiple social media sites. read more

Back Again. 04/20/18 I brought my VW CC in to have my oil changed this morning. The service manager Mike was very helpful with getting my vehicle right in. I waited in the waiting area discussing my vehicle with Mike who was very knowledgeable and disgusted some preventative upkeep with VW's which I appreciated. Within an hour I was back in my car and on my way. This Midas reminds me of the hometown mechanic I grew up with as a youngster, no upselling on things you don't need. They were extremely unhelpful and had awful customer service. What shouldve been a quick repair turned into a massive bill. Now i have a ruined car that i have to sell and lose alot of money on. I believe they tried to take advantage of me because it was a nice car and they assumed i have money. Went in for a second opinion after a reputable shop in Port Orchard had given us one quote, then raised the quote by another 700 $. We took the car to Anthony at Midas, he took a look at my car and even showed my husband what was really wrong and what we had been told by other shop, was not what was wrong. My girlfriend took her car to this location for a brake inspection yesterday. Their reccomendation was for a total brake rotor/caliper/pad replacement front and rear as well as a brake fluid flush.They went on to say that the rear brakes were "missing pieces" and were in urgent need of repair. Total cost of repairs would be $1000. I called to confirm the findings and spoke with the owner. After I asked her to put the tires back on, I would need a second opinion before spending that much money, she said we didn't really need to do the rear brakes, which would lower the cost. Weird, I thought the rear brekes were missing pieces. Anyway, took the car to Les Schwab, who after a thorough free inspection(midas charged $100) replaced the front rotors and pads for $400. The owners of this Midas are very friendly, honest, and do good business. When you get an oil change they actually do a thorough inspection and provide you a report. My past experiences with Meinieke is that they would do the oil change but would not actually do all of the inspecting that they claim to do. At Midas they will not only tell you what is wrong with your vehicle but will take you into the bay and show you what is wrong, and what you should do about it. If you have numerous things they will tell you the priority you should go about getting the repairs done in. I appreciate the extra time that they take to make sure everything is good and that you get an accurate report. They have earned my business. read more

These guys are fantastic! I had authorized a bit of work to be done, and they were aware that we weren't planning on keeping this car too much longer. As soon as they located an issue that would require some major work in the not-too-far-off future, they stopped all work and called me to see if I even wanted that to continue! They EASILY could have finished the work, as I'd already authorized it, and then said hey... by the way... It was a blessing, as they were right, we're now looking to get a new car sooner than we'd anticipated rather than throwing more money into this one, so we changed a few things on what they were going to be doing to save a few bucks. Wonderful service! We are a family of four from Ohio traveling in the area when our SUV literally lost a wheel. We called the Bremerton Midas and they went out of their way to help us out. They helped us find a local tow and began to work on the vehicle right when it arrived. Unfortunately we needed some major repairs but they got the parts right away and even gave us a ride to our hotel for the night. The car was complete the next morning. Not only did they do the needed repairs, they went out of their way to do a complete inspection and even fix "the little things" just to be sure we were safe for the remainder of our trip.
