When I said yes, he told me he had a driver on the way. I was fully expecting to pay for the service, but they chose to help me at no charge. What meant the most wasn't receiving free help--it was witnessing genuine compassion from a local business that didn't have to step in but chose to anyway. In an already challenging month, their kindness was a reminder that there are still people and businesses in our community that care. This is a BMW with complex electrics, and good security measures. He arrived promptly and did an amazing job, including locating the charging lugs once the car was opened and the hood up (battery is in the rear). Something was wrong with my starter, which I had never heard of, so he popped the hood to show me. Even though he did not know where the starter was in the make and model of my car he helped me look for it and explained what it did. I think car repair companies get a lot of negative reviews on Yelp because, frankly, repairing cars is expensive and it's easy to feel crummy! Don't let the less than perfect score on Yelp deter you, it seemed to me that the workers of Bob's Auto Repair are honest and considerate.
