As for the cons, the sauna is sometimes out of order. It's been off and on all summer. Also, I will say that some of the older people at this place don't understand gym etiquette and will swipe your equipment before you're done if you turn your back for a second. The trainers are somewhat distracting as well. Some are good and know what they're doing, but they're unreasonably loud when speaking with their clients. Others are quiet and polite but don't offer great training; one guy had his older, frail client ripping down half reps on the lat pull down machine like he was 14 years old and trying to impress his friends. Overall, a good experience with a few hang ups.

As a parent and grateful community member, I continue to be impressed by the care, professionalism, and heart that make this place so special. Our experience with the Early Childhood Education program for the past three years has been outstanding. As a parent, the most important thing is trust, and we have real trust in the teachers and leaders. The staff know the children, care about their growth, communicate with families, and create a warm, nurturing environment where kids feel safe, supported, and excited to come each day. The care is high-quality, thoughtful, robust, and flexible, which matters so much for working families and families with different needs. I also deeply appreciate the J's broader commitment to inclusion, especially its programming for individuals with disabilities and families who benefit from extra support. That is one of the things that makes the J feel like more than a gym, preschool, camp, or community center. It is a place that works hard to create belonging. The facilities are excellent and very well maintained. The campus is especially fun in the summer, with the pool, splash pad, camp programming, sports fields, tennis courts, fitness center, classrooms, art spaces, and community gathering areas all working together. It feels like a true community campus where people of all ages can learn, play, connect, and feel welcome. No organization is perfect, but I have a lot of confidence in the people leading the J and in the direction of the community. For families looking for early childhood education, summer camp, fitness, aquatics, arts, inclusion programming, or simply a welcoming place to belong in Tucson, I highly recommend the Tucson J.

"Day-um, mah booty!"…read more That's what went through my mind the moment I stood up out of bed on Saturday, following Friday's lower body workout. I need to stipulate that I only took the two class introductory deal, so I'm no seasoned client, but those two were enough for me to know that if I ever moved to Tucson, this would be my gym. I'm a lifelong regular gym rat with a hankering for group conditioning classes, and this place done knocked me silly. Front door staff was friendly and welcoming, and more importantly, the coach was outstanding when it came to keeping a keen eye on my form and correcting when necessary. The smallish space was equipped with bikes, ski machines, balls, bells and all the whistles that were needed to send me home an absolute mess. Just a note, they weren't big on stretching, so plan on doing that on your own. I haven't penned a review in quite some time, mainly because I'm rarely wowed. When I walked out of this place, I immediately thought, "These guys deserve a five star, stat."

The first time I signed up, I got a text message to see if I had any injuries they needed to be aware of. They also sent an email with check-in instructions and what not. Trainers are motivating and pushes you to do well during the class and correct you if needed. Highly recommended!!

I've driven past Tucson Strength on Speedway more times than I can count ,kind of tucked away on a…read morecorner, easy to miss & WOW... I cannot believe it took me this long to finally walk in. This place is no f*cking joke. First off, this is an old-school strength gym, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's not bougie, it's not aesthetic-driven, and it's definitely not trying to be a trendy Instagram gym. It's gritty, it's real, and it's built for people who actually want to get stronger. They've got everythinggggg!Olympic lifting, strongman training, personal training, group classes, nutrition coaching... even a calisthenics coach (which is honestly rare to find). Whether you're a beginner wanting to level up or someone who's already deep in fitness and feels like you've outgrown franchise gyms... this is where you go to get humbled REAL quick. And I love that. The tour alone sold me. Front desk was super welcoming, and the owner was already on it with communication before we even walked in. You can tell this place runs on passion and community, not flashy marketing. Inside? Old-school equipment (my personal favorite &way more effective than a lot of the newer stuff IMO). Outside? A full-on training setup with turf, tires, and space to actually move. There's also indoor turf, kettlebells, and room to train however you want. This is a no-BS, get-it-done gym. One of my favorite parts though? The people. You've got folks in their 70s and 80s lifting alongside everyone else and that's powerful. As a woman in my 40s, that kind of environment hits different. Strength training isn't optional, it's essential & this is the kind of place where you do it right. Also love that they have options for everyone: * Memberships * Personal training * Group classes (super affordable around $20/class once you're cleared) * Even drop-in options for travelers It's flexible, which you don't always see in more serious gyms. And honestly... if you're the person who's always finishing first in group classes and not really getting pushed anymore? Come here. You will be challenged. In the best way. This place feels like a local secret , very word-of-mouth, very "if you know, you know." Not overcrowded (especially midday), dedicated community, and zero fluff. Soooo yeah... I'm hooked. If you're serious about getting stronger -- not just sweating, but actually building strength & this might be the gym in Tucson.

This welcoming environment, however, is in spite of, not because of, its owner, who uses his brand's social media account to mock people for, among other things, having pronouns in their bio, and when confronted on this, will delete comments critical of those actions. https://www.instagram.com/p/DYfR3r9yPIv/ As such, it becomes difficult to recommend Tucson Strength as a welcoming place if you are someone who expects to have your gender identity respected, as the owner believes "pronouns are a social construct" that he "does not buy into" and that "there are [only] two genders" He is obviously welcome to these opinions, in the same way I am welcome to take my business elsewhere, while letting others know they may not feel welcome in this space. It is truly disappointing that the owner of a gym with a "Don't be an asshole" sign cannot live up to that most basic of principles. All of that said, I cannot in good conscience give a review less than three stars, as at the end of the day it has the makings of a potentially fantastic gym that's *actually* a welcoming place for *anyone*, and I have incredibly fond memories of my time there. It was with great disappointment that I canceled my membership, but I simply no longer felt welcome at a place owned by an online bully, who claims everyone is welcome in his space, while at the same time using his public business account to hunt down and mock those who think differently than him.

They also give you five dollars a month to use at the snack area- calendar, month not membership month. Sooooooo amazing…read more This gym seriously checks all the boxes. First off--really awesome classes here. Like, not just filler classes... actual good workouts that leave you feeling it. The space itself is super CLEAN with a really nice aesthetic. It's big, doesn't feel cramped, and there's a huge variety of options--everything from classes to hydro massage, red light, tanning, etc. You can literally make a whole self-care day out of being here. I'm obsessed with the Studio Red class--major asskicker in the best way. Total sweat factory you will walk out drenched but feeling accomplished. Today I tried the new infrared heated yoga flow with Keli and wow... complete heaven. Such a good balance of challenging and relaxing. I left feeling reset. No need to lug around a mat ! they have plenty to use & assigned numbered spots for you and your mat - Huge perk. Honestly, this place just hits. Good sound systems throughout , Great energy, great workouts, and tons of options depending on your mood. The only 2 downsides is the parking lot , Horrible location & unsafe at night . Do not leave valuables in your car . The other is the staff , they are EXTREMELY pushy and salesy so be warned if that's not your jam .

My trainer Lylah is great, she is very knowledgeable and has helped me so much in my health journey. The facility is VERY CLEAN, my favorite aspect of the gym. The bathrooms have great showers and a dry sauna that comes with your membership. I love the amount of equipment, especially the barbells. Main feedback is we need cold water to drink, I have personally told every staff member I can and my trainer since April. It's October and that dang water dispenser still dispenses hot water, there is also no clear way to share feedback to the actual gym or share maintenance concerns. The recovery room is nice, I mostly enjoy the vitality booths and cryotherapy chair but recently a lot of the recovery amenities have not been working. Some things are from members breaking or not taking care of things, others seem to be a lack of maintenance issue. Whatever the case, things should be quickly repaired or replaced.
