This is our first bathroom remodel and it's fair to say that we were more than a little overwhelmed by all of the choices available. Thankfully, April is an old pro and understands the options inside and out. We booked an appointment with her for later in the week and within a couple of hours the decisions were made and we left with great confidence in the items we chose. One of the things we really appreciated was that the Ultimate Bath has a wet wall where they can demonstrate a broad range of fixed and hand held shower heads. There is no question that really simplified the process for us. If you're doing a remodel I would strongly encourage you to stop in and see April before trying to wade through the many, many, decisions on your own :)

I was delighted that this toilet is actually in their public rest room and able to assess its features. The sales person/designer was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend Karen and this showroom to anyone undertaking a bath or kitchen remodeling project.

Update 11/8/20: see comments on my personal Facebook page…read more(Maureen Holmes) for comments on Robin Boyce after posting my review there. Unfortunately I am not the only one who has endured a bad experience with her. MH I warn anyone who will listen away from this unethical business and owner Robin Boyce. I had the misfortune to be her client and endure her careless, unprofessional, dishonest and ultimately abusive and vulgar treatment. My "custom kitchen" arrived without the custom elements and with a grossly oversized refrigerator. The kitchen designer blames someone else for a major kitchen error and refuses to fix it! (See photos) I had the exact same experience with the shutters and the custom stair-runner I ordered from her. They were both delivered with errors and missing parts, and Design West has done NOTHING to correct its errors. This is the worst experience I've ever had with another human being, period. I never received an apology on any mistake I swear to God. That's when I realized too late I had hired the wrong person. Robin Boyce/Design Center West scammed me by promising professional results and delivering dirt. Robin Boyce then turned verbally abusive when confronted with her easily disproved lies. (I have all documentation to prove my charges.) This last point deserves special mention. When I expressed my dismay at the errors, delays and lack of accountability, her demeanor shifted immediately from friendly to combative and borderline violent. It was a shock to learn the owner wasn't just a sleaze but mentally unhinged too. When I confronted her in her store after she ignored my contractor's emails and texts, she began screaming profanities at me while hurling insults about my appearance and character, which I presumed was an intimidation tactic. That felt sickening, but it worsened when she came at me with her arm pulled back as if to throw a punch, but thankfully she stopped herself before landing her fist in my face. I feel certain the only thing that stopped her was a possible assault charge. I would feel sorry for Ms Boyce if she wasn't a thief, and if her emotional instability didn't manifest in such an ugly manner. But no mental state excuses her dishonesty, mentally healthy or not. Not a word of this review is hyperbole. I lost thousands of dollars and was blindsided by a venomous verbal assault because I had the temerity to call out Robin Boyce on her mendacity and fraud. I could provide a colorful litany of her actions, but suffice it to say that it involved a lot of obscene finger, hip and hand gestures. Incidentally, her staff just sat there like dummies the entire time and let it all happen. Apparently they don't have an issue working for such a repulsive woman. Prior to my dealings with her, Robin was verbally abusive to my contractor on multiple occasions as well when he asked her about delayed deliverables. Following is an example of one the few correspondences between him and Robin that isn't littered with her F-bombs: "Shut up. Stop talking. Don't tell me what to do. Its not Maureen... its you. I'm surprised guys take your mouth, and the way you talk down to others; I suspect you've been punched a few times." This is the first---and I hope last--bad review I ever had to write. Let this brutally honest review serve as a public service announcement to warn others away from this troublemaker. Do not hire Design Center West. You will pay a premium for sloppy, mediocre results, and the owner will curse you when you express your dissatisfaction. This has been a yearlong nightmare that only ended after I hired someone else to fix all of her mistakes. Caveat emptor!

Any mistakes (Fedex dropped a vanity and it cracked) were handled quickly and replaced at no cost to me. Her attention to detail is incredible. Additionally, she was very focused on saving me money and making sure I was not buying things I did not need. It has been a true pleasure working with Robin and her team again. I cannot say enough good things about them!

Through our (my mom and I's) search for a vanity and vanity tops, I stumbled upon SilvaStone (who…read morewere very professional, btw). They gave us a starting price of how much quartz would go for, a run down of their operation and how they work and we were on our way. We have just started looking for vanity tops and are in the process of also looking for a kitchen counter top. So let's just say that was our first stop of many places that we would be getting price quotes from. We asked them if they had any discounted floor model vanities and she referred us to Shrewsbury Design Center. Upon calling the phone number on the card, a man answered (who I later found out was Hiram) and I asked him if they had any floor models. He said they had one. I asked him if he knew dimensions and price but he didn't. He told me he would call his "partner" at the store to let him know we were on our way there. We showed up to SDC and spoke with Jorge who is the owner of the company. He was super nice and saw I had my 4 month old son with me. He made friendly conversation and told us about the vanity. He also recommended L & M granite to get cheap remittance pieces for vanities. I appreciated his recommendation. He gave me a good deal on the vanity and I told him I'd be back later that day because we were in my moms car which isn't big enough. Jorge told me to call an hour before coming back, we did but there was no answer. Finally getting a hold of Jorge (who said he was on a job with a client), told me he would get in touch with an employee of his and said employee would meet me there in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Fair enough, I did drive there without confirmation of him being there. So we drove around the area for about an hour and headed back to the store. No one there. Lights were off, door was locked. I called multiple times to this Hiram fellow with no response, eventually his calls went straight to voicemail (he must have shut his phone off...professional...). I had no choice but to call Jorge to see what was up and not even the OWNER OF THE STORE could get ahold of this so-called employee. Jorge was very apologetic and said he was ashamed of the way his employee is treating us. He offered to have it delivered to my house at 830am the next morning (which was this morning). I agreed to that and appreciated his heartfelt apology. What do you know...who shows up knocking on my door at 815am, Hiram! The mystery man of the day, the famous disappearing act! There he was, saw him with my own eyes, it was incredible. *if you can't tell, this is sarcasm*. He was not friendly at all, a bit pissy if you ask me. I didn't want to deal with it because I knew if I did, I would go off on him (let's be honest, it was too early for that). I helped him get the vanity into my car (there's no room in the house, hence why we are having an addition being put on), told him I'd get the money and came out with a check. You should have seen the look on the guys eyes when I asked him who I write it out to. The disappointment in his voice was evident. I'm sure if I gave him cash, Jorge would have never seen his money. That's the way his reaction seemed to me anyway. I thanked him for driving it over (even though he didn't deserve a thank you) and he said "yup". Stand up guy, man...what a stand up guy. So long story long, I won't be back and that's sad. It's because of one inconsiderate employee that Jorge's business has to have a first rough review on Yelp. I appreciate all of Jorge's help but at the end of the day, he needs to hire better employees (or have a better partner, if that's what he really is to him). If you do chose to go with SDC, steer clear of Hiram.

While the…read moreoverall work was acceptable, the seams between the granite pieces were not properly sealed. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this at the time and ended up spending thousands of dollars repainting my cabinets, only to recently learn from another contractor that water had been seeping through the faulty seam all along, causing additional damage. When I contacted the company, they asked for $300 to reseal it, which feels unreasonable given that this appears to be an installation issue. I even offered to wait until they were working in the area, since it's a quick fix, but they were not willing to accommodate. I would recommend looking for a company that stands behind its work and provides better long-term support. Also, if possible, avoid placing seams near the sink--what seems like a minor detail can lead to significant damage over time.

Quite ridiculous actually, not sure how these guys are even a business. I needed new granite countertops for my kitchen. They send a guy to come measure the place and then give me quotes which is a good $2k more than another vendor I got a quote from. I was fairly certain there must have been a mistake in the sq. footage they used to make the calculation and asked them to verify what area they used to provide the quote. They responded saying they don't take area (sq. ft) into consideration when quoting jobs! So I responded back asking how that could be true since the amount of ganite slabs they use for the job would depend on the area they need to cover. They then respond saying "every business has their own way to quote jobs and that I should look elsewhere". This business is such a joke. Attached screen shots of the email exchange. We have old kitchen cabinets and we were looking for to change handles and knobs which are not standard sizes. So we were ready to pay for this service. Not they only lost us for this deal but also as future-to-be customers when renewing our kitchen. Guess Nu-Face has enough business to be this rude towards potential customers. Definitely don't recommend this place to anyone.
