I love that there is plenty of parking here! It is SO BIG! It is nice that there is an area closed off with a gate for little ones to help keep them in one spot. It was definitely overwhelming having 3 kids running ALL around... it was hard to be able to keep eyes on them the entire time so thankful I was there with another mama and we all watched each other's. The kids had a blast darting in ALL directions. We will definitely be packing a cooler and a picnic blanket next time to be able to stay longer. There is a walking trail next to it, there is plenty of benches, umbrellas, shade, and a few tables. It was very well maintained. read more

We were staying in the local area and we love exploring new parks for our daughter. She'll be 3 soon and wanted to take her to some unique parks that don't just have the typical slides and swings. We looked this park up and love how open it is. It's located near a busy highway but it's fenced off. I love the huge boat that connects a lot of the little play areas. The best area in my opinion is the zip lines. I've seen some parks that have a small one that you hang on with the two bar handles but this one is legit. It has one for grown ups or bigger kids or the secured seated one for younger kids. Our daughter was on that for a long time. She loved it and we'll be coming back again. Not too many kids or people. Clean and there was a dog park nearby and I think some basketball courts. This park has everything your kids would need and enjoy. read more

Excellent park just avoid the rude parents. My kids love this park but you will come across some really obnoxious snooty people.

Here is what you need to know: - There are clean restrooms and drinking fountains. - Separate fenced-in toddler area - Special needs accommodation: wide ramps, two special swings, and a big rocking platform that is wheelchair accessible. - A pretty long zip line is awesome, but best for kids 5+ - There is a slide that you can only go down by climbing a decent rock wall. My 2 year old couldn't do it on his own, but my 4-and-a-half year old enjoyed the challenge. - There's a covered gazebo and a few exposed picnic tables. - Structures encourage imaginative play: spyglasses, pretend cannons, old maps FOOD: There is a shopping center less than a mile away, so we grabbed snacks at Trader Joe's and kept on playing. We stayed there for HOURS, I tell you. Look at the photos and know that it is a really fun place. Very busy on weekends, but still fun. read more

Wonderful place to meet family, picnic in the shady pavilion, and let the kids play in the elaborate kid zone playground (complete with mini zip line which our 4-year old niece really enjoyed!). Dog friendly in the main areas (though not inside the playground or sports fields) Our pups enjoyed their leashed walks. Park is very well maintained, with many park benches and clean restrooms near playground which is ideal for the kiddos. A lovely find during our Williamsburg daytrip. FYI, the name of this park is confusing--not listed under this name in Google Maps or Waze. It's listed as "Kidsburg" or Veterans Park" if you need to search, or simply enter the street address. read more

Veterans Park aka Kidsburg aka Mid County Park is great for kids period. In the time of COVID the park is pretty crowded with only on a rare occasion kids wearing masks. Social Distance is not enforced but kids are generally aware of their space. read more

This is an A+ playground. My children insisted upon taking a second trip to Williamsburg, Virginia because they wanted to spend more time at this playground. Playground has an enclosed tot lot for little kids. It has a pirate ship, a small climbing wall with a slide, and a humongous play structure. The theme of the park is pirates. The kids especially like the zip line. There are bathrooms, a soda machine, and lights that go off in the winter at 8 PM. My children said that this park with more fun then Busch Gardens. I wish I had saved the money and skipped Busch Gardens. read more

Our toddler had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, some of the items in the toddler area were too tall for him to climb, but Mom and Dad helped him up. I think the toddler area could use a few more toddler friendly items, but having an enclosed, latched space for toddlers is a BIG bonus as not many playgrounds have this type of space. There was also a family bathroom, which made diaper changes easier. The regular playground was huge and it looked like the children were having an amazing time. I brought a 4 and 6 year old alone while I was killing time before another event. I couldn't believe how well maintained and clean this park was. They have vending machines which helps when you don't plan on going. They have clean bathrooms. All great when you go on a whim! The park itself was so big and fun! There was something for everyone! They have a huge pirate ship that connected so many other parts of the playground. They have a tire swing and other swings. They also have a fenced off toddler area that I appreciate for when you have multiple kids and need to keep them close (but this is for little kids). They also have a really nice picnic area. I highly recommend this playground and anytime we go to Great Wolf Lodge we will go here first. It is fantastic! read more

Pirate themed playgrounds, great for toddlers to elementary ages kids. My little ones loved it. I would give the place a perfect score if there were more shady seating near the play area, the gate enclosing the toddler area was harder for my 3 yo to figure out (5 seconds) and I could see the whole play area from a single place. (The pirate ship is a solid piece, can't see through the walls. Otherwise the place is clean, bright, well cared for and has nice restrooms and well stocked vending machines. read more

While recently vacationing we stumbled upon this park, gotta say our daughter really enjoyed it! It was pretty big and had lots of things to do. ( Rock climbing slide with hidden fossils on it, pirate ship, free little sit zip line, book nook, easy to maneuver around from one side to the next etc.. ) Our favorite part was the zip line! We have never seen one like that before, especially at a park, it was a big hit! The park was big, but the set up made it easy to see your child pretty much at all times. They also had a smaller section beside it that wasn't attached to the bigger park for smaller children. The bathrooms were nice and clean which is always nice! They even have a FREE sunscreen dispenser near the bathroom/ entrance area that we found pretty handy, especially since it was a hot day. Definitely a park to check out if you are in the area. read more

We love having this park so close by. My girls love being able to come here and play. The ship helps to let their imaginations run wild. We've never had any trouble getting a table for the days we decide to have a picnic or when I take school work (we homeschool) for the kiddos to do. There are pavilions for parties and I think it would be a fantastic place for a child's summer birthday party. One complaint is that while EVERYONE loves the zip line it is difficult for the children to navigate. There is no easy way for them to create lines on their own and it ALWAYS has a line so you usually end up with a parent having to control the crowd and unfortunately sometimes the lines don't get organized enough and a little one misses a turn. There is no real waiting deck but all the children try to wait on the platform. read more

Awesome park! I've frequented many of the parks in Williamsburg, but the newly renovated Kidsburg is one of the coolest, most upscale children's parks I've ever encountered. There's a zipline and rock climbing wall for kids, people. They also have a segregated area for babies and toddlers too, which is often overlooked and very much appreciated. The rest of the park has a bunch of a picnic shelters, volleyball court, tennis courts, a fancy bathroom, and areas to picnic, as well as a 2/3 mile path around the entirety of the park for walkers and joggers. Wow! Nailed it. A spot for picnics, in the shade or out in he sun, the things for kids to do are endless and assuming they have limitless energy like ours, this spot is a must. Really well done. The playground is clean. The design was well thought out and implemented. There are restrooms in the area plenty of trash bins. My toddler was very busy for a couple hours, she had a blast. The best playground I have seen so far, but personal opinion, cities can do better spending taxes on a bigger more extravagant playground in this 21st century. Other than that, remember to keep a light foot print and clean up after yourself. read more
